This is pretty good but not really my thing to be honest. "Save Her" is a killer track though.

what do you think of the BFMV?

 

The best three songs were the 3 we'd already heard IMO.

 

Seem to recall 'Pleasure & Pain' being pretty good as well.

 

The ballad was OK, but not quite as enthusiastic as our Oz friend ;-)

Yeah backed. It sounds good (something their last album didn't), but they haven't mastered the art of writing hooks IMO. For all their awesomeness live they just can't seem to write really memorable songs. To be perfectly honest I just don't really like this band much, I much prefer either slightly lighter stuff (like SOTY/SHINEDOWN) or slightly heavier stuff (like TRIVIUM/KILLSWITCH/AS I LAY DYING) and I'm unlikely to play this anywhere near as much as the bands I've mentioned, nor buy their next album...

yeah listened to this again on the way home tonight and whilst its solid throughout the songs just arent memorable. I enjoy it while im listening and then forget it instantly.

Go Radio - 'Made up stories'

Journey - 'Generations' ; man this is terrible. I remember in 2005 when I heard this I said the first 3 tracks were good whilst I bashed the rest of it. Well, 5 years later I picked up the CD for under $5 and on the way to work this morning I enjoyed the first 3 tunes, and in the space of about 10 mins I skipped through to track 10 or 11 which I'm now up to. What an awful disc after the first 3.

      It's ok. I think people know I am a massive Crue fan, and I like a lot of stuff by them that people hate (the Generation Swine album for example) but the only newer original song I have cared about them in recent years was The Dirt. Everything else has been either meh or crap. I did also like their cover of Like a virgin, which I know a lot of peeps didn't like, so it's not like I am just craving the good old days. I would be happy if we could get a song close to Afraid, Saints of Los Angeles or the aforementioned The Dirt. I think songs like that will be few and far between sadly.

      Have to agree. Although my expectations were that it would be absolutely horrible like Dogs of War lol. Still far away from classic Motley Crue but I at least made it all the way through this one so that's a positive. Still nothing to write home about but at least it rocks fairly well and there's a semblance of a song there.
