"Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn" (1983) - Charles "Puppet Master" Band directed this no budget sci-fi mess that mixes post-apocalyptic "Road Warrior" style mayhem with some cosmic nonsense ala "Star Wars." A futuristic law man heads into "the forbidden lands" and battles mutants (one of whom is played by a pre-"Night Court" Richard Moll) to rescue a girl (Kelly Preston, aka the future Mrs. John Travolta!) from a Darth Vader style bad guy who plans to rule the galaxy, or whatever.

Cheap sets, wooden performances, sh*thouse special effects and nonsensical story make this the Perfect Storm of early 80s cheez. Originally shot in 3-D, for all the good it did. Absolutely awful

"Miami Connection" (1987)

This is it folks... I think I have finally reached the top of Bad Movie Mountain.

"Miami Connection" is a hilariously awful martial arts rock musical action movie (!) about Dragon Sound, a terrible synth-rock band whose members also happen to be tae kwon do masters, battling it out with street gangsters and a troop of motorcycle riding, drug dealing ninjas. I swear I am not making this up. Terrible acting, poorly edited fight scenes, Mullets, and hilariously awful songs ensue.

This long forgotten Z movie was rediscovered by the cult flick specialists at Alamo Drafthouse, who bought a theatrical print on eBay and loved it so much that they tracked down producer/director Y.K. Kim and got his permission to re-release it.
The movie is so awful that it almost becomes awesome, in a severe car accident kind of way.

It's worth sitting through this train wreck just to hear "Dragon Sound's" music. They sing songs about martial arts with the same fervor that Stryper sings about God. Dig their shoulda-been-a-hit-single, "Against the Ninja" :rofl2:

Good luck, Karpetryd. You may love "Miami Connection," you may hate it, but you will NEVER forget it!!!

...plus, you'll have that damn "Against the Ninja" song stuck in your head for hours afterward.

Can't comment on the movie, but that song is quite catchy... and be damned if the singer doesn't sound exactly like Pat Benetar. She's quite tasty looking too imho.

"Land of the Lost" (2009) - action/comedy update of the 70s kid show stars Will Ferrell as bumbling scientist Rick Marshall, whose experiments accidentally trap him and two friends in an alternate dimension populated by dinosaurs, cavemen, and evil alien Sleestaks.

Fun while it was on, but totally forgettable. Six months from now I probably won't even remember that I've seen it.
