Love Find Me but last album wasn't their best.  Hope this is a return to the first couple.

Yeah, I agree. Each one has been a little worse than the last IMO. I'm getting a little bored with the standard Flores production.

That being said, I'm looking forward to hearing how the Peterik songs turn out. Could be a promising change of pace.

Finally watched the video. The song is meh. The video might be one of the worst I've ever seen. Robbie and his wife playing in the backyard... why? And the whole thing so obviously shot on a phone. Robbie has that distracting looking off to the side thing throughout that you get when people look at the phone screen instead of the lens. And amateur editing. Yuck.

I think with a better video the song would leave a better impression.

Do Frontiers do that lol :)

My favorite part is him strumming the acoustic guitar despite there not being one in the song :P

Well, that's two of my three favorite Survivor songs he's covered now. Not bad at all.

After a few more listens...I actually think this cover is over-sung. The last chorus is completely over the top. Robbie is a tremendous singer but he got too theatrical on this one IMO.

Picked this up (the completist in me) after not being over blown away by the last few...and yeah this hasn't blown me away either..only had a couple of listens but nothing seems to stick out for me except the feeling that its one long song as the variety/style doesn't seem to change...then it just ends...i'll give it more goes but I have a few others I'm more excited to give time/listen to over the weekend.

Agreed with this. It's definitely not bad but the novelty of this project has definitely worn off. As hard as I try to judge albums in a vacuum it's hard not to hear the material from the previous 2, 3, 4, etc. albums.

I feel like studio projects like Find Me are more susceptible to this because if it's an actual band, you have several people with creative input which can lead to conscious (or unconscious!) changes in direction. Not so much when it's one person at the helm and the same producer over and over and over again.

I like the Survivor cover, but I agree with some of the other sentiments about the album being "over-sung". It's like they're perpetually trying to push things to 11. It's good musically and sonically, but it's is if the air is always being sucked out of the room.

Small handful of songs I'll add to my playlist, probably more out of obligation than a strong fondness for them, but there's a few decent tunes on here like the first couple and 'Love Always Finds A Way.'

But this type of ultra-safe AOR is getting increasingly hard to get into as the years pass.

    • This is kind of a twofer. I just got my Pioneer VX-90 Betamax back yesterday. Cost me a fortune to get it fixed. Well worth it to have such a beast of a machine. Before that I only had low to mid tier Beta machines. I am very excited. The first tape I played was Quiet Riot: Bang Thy Head. Watching that video I found myself in awe of how awesome Quiet Riot were during those first few years. How is it possible for a band to be that awesome and have it all go so wrong so quickly? By the time I heard about Quiet Riot in the early 2000s they were basically considered a joke. Sadly, I kind of just accepted that as fact. I was a casual fan at best and never really looked much deeper than the radio hits. That was a mistake. I am lucky that I at least got to see them live a couple times. I didn't appreciate it at the time. That was really cool of Kevin and the other guys to sign my ticket stub.
    • From Bravewords... Legendary rock guitarist Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands, Red Dragon Cartel) has issued an update after he was shot multiple times earlier this week in a Las Vegas, NV street shooting. Jake shared the following via social media: "Checking. Is this on? Been awhile since I posted here. Let’s see: "I deeply appreciate all the concern and well wishes. Makes everything going on a little better. To clarify, I was shot three times. I was on my way back home from walking my dog Coco (I didn’t name him so don’t!) Don’t want to go into details now, I’m tired, but I feel relatively very lucky. The police found 15 shell casings at the scene which means he emptied his clip on me. I could only dodge so many so one bullet went through my forearm, one through my foot, and one in the back which broke a rib and damaged a lung. Priority now is to keep draining my lung till it’s done crying. Then we can pull that tube out and concentrate on the more minor injuries. "And by the way, Coco’s fine and appreciates your inquiries!"   Police released a statement regarding the shooting, which occurred early morning on October 15. The statement reads: "Officers responded to a shooting incident in the 11000 block of Alora Street. Officers arrived and located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male was transported to the hospital. No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation." In a statement to TMZ, Ozzy Osbourne said, “It’s been 37 years since I’ve seen Jake E. Lee, but that still doesn’t take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today. It’s just another senseless act of gun violence. I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter, Jade. I just hope he’ll be ok.” Lee played with Ozzy from 1983-1987 and was featured on the albums Bark At The Moon and The Ultimate Sin.

    • This is one of the songs Erik and Jona wrote for the next Skid Row album before he handed his notice in
    • So I have this info from a reliable inside source. There will be a new CL album at the start of 2025, and Danny is also working with Chez Kane on her third album which should come out late 2025.
