Popular bands that have never had any line-up changes

Recommended Posts

I was reading about the singer of Night By Night leaving the band and recently the singer of Crashdiet left. I swear 75% of my favorite bands have changed their lead singer at one point or another.

Is there a popular band or a classic band that has all it's original members or that no member has left at one point in the band's existence?

Not trying to be stupid, but off the top of my head Steel Panther was the first band I thought of.

L.A. Guns, Lynch Mob...

Oh, haven't had a lineup change. Got it.

Can you think of a band that's had only 1 line-up change?? Just as hard!!

Stryper.

Close.

Bassist Tim Gaines did not participate in the recording of To Hell with the Devil, and for a short period of time prior to the release of the record he was replaced by Matt Hurich. Hurich was not with the band more than a month, although he was outfitted with a yellow and black striped bass and a racing costume. Brad Cobb played bass on the album.

TORA TORA? Hardly call them popular, but I'll take it. So far we have two. There has to be more.

I think AEROSMITH and RUSH too

John Rutsey played drums on the first Rush album ...

Richie Supa and Jimmy Crespo both played on 'Night In The Ruts' instead of Joe Perry; Rick Dufay replaced Brad Whitford for 'Rock In A Hard Place' ...

Led Zeppelin

Messrs Plant, Page and Jones have played as Zeppelin with Jason Bonham on drums - does that count as a change? Or are we only taking about recording line-ups?

The Beatles didn't change their line up for the whole of their recording career ... Pete Best and Stuart Sutcliffe left/were fired before their first album was released.

With regard to the one change, the four core guys in Bon Jovi were together for a billion years. Not sure what's happening there now (did Sambora get kicked out?) but aside from the bass player, they've had the same line-up forever.

And Pink Cream 69. Their only change ever was from Deris to Readman.

The Police kept hold of the same three members throughout their time with A&M - their original guitarist, Henry Padovani, appears on their debut single, but was ousted after Andy Summers joined the band (and before their debut album was recorded.)

They were only together for 8 years, but they were ALWAYS on the radio when I was growing up :)

The first one I thought of was Cinderella ... but if memory serves they used a fill in drummer on the "Still Climbing" album cuz Fred Coury was out for awhile

It depends if you believe the conspiracies or not....

Depends on whether you are talking under the SP moniker or all their various names over the years.

While its been the same four guys through Metal Shop, Metal Skool and Steel Panther names, there was a different drummer in their Danger Kitty guise.
