Castronovo, Blades and Aldrich... Now I have something to look forward

Been a fan of Night Ranger since 1982. One of my favorite bands of all-time.

Been a fan of Castronovo dating back to Bad English and Hardline... and absolutely LOVE his live vocals with Journey.

Got my first taste of Aldrich's Les Paul when he was slinging-it with Lion, and I've seen him live with Whitesnake numerous times.

NOW I truly have something to look forward to in 2015. So many bands seem to fall flat despite the enormous hype... I do not expect that to be the case here, especially with Frontiers pushing this one.

Such potential here... We shall see.

This could and I say COULD be killer..an absolutely magic line up. Let's hope it will live up to reputation.

Yeah, I have no idea what this is, but I'm excited. Oh, and what's wrong with Del Vecchio? I loved the new Hardline, but admit, apart from that, his only other work I've listened to were samples of L.R.S.

What a horrid name Revolution Saints is. Aren't there already 8 bands with that name or something almost identical? Anyway, didn't Del Vecchio just basically do that entire Moonland disc? That is a brilliant disc, so I'm sure he can make something good out of this line-up too. He seems to have a hit very now and then and no reason this can't be another.

I think it sounds good, but what is up with Frontiers and 3 man projects? LRS, 3 Lions, and now this one, I'd rather see/hear full/real bands.

Pressrelease from Frontiers Records:

Introducing the Hard Rock / Melodic Rock eponymous debut album “Revolution Saints”

Featuring Doug Aldrich (ex-Whitesnake), Jack Blades (Night Ranger, Deen Castronovo (Journey) and with special guests Alessandro Del Vecchio, Journey’s Neal Schon and Arnel Pineda

Released on CD, Deluxe Edition w/ bonus DVD, Digital Download and 180 gram black vinyl

European release by Frontiers Records - Friday 20 February 2015; US release: Tuesday 24 February 2015

Deen Castronovo, Jack Blades and Doug Aldrich. Put these three rock titans together in a band and you have the exciting new hard rock/melodic rock supergroup REVOLUTION SAINTS.

Superbly handling drums and lead vocals is Deen Castronovo. Already renowned for his drum talents and backing vocals in Journey, Bad English and more, Deen's excellent vocal talents are in the spotlight on this release. On bass, and co-lead vocals on a few tracks, Jack Blades is well known for his melodic, yet hard rocking approach to songwriting and playing via multiple classic albums by his main band Night Ranger, as well as with the Damn Yankees and the Shaw/Blades releases. On guitar, Doug Aldrich was excited to lend his fiery blues guitar attack to such a unique and melodic band. Doug, who just left Whitesnake after a fruitful 12 year run (including co-writing 2010s critically acclaimed "Forevermore" release) and also of Burning Rain and formerly of DIO, has a deep pedigree and is one of today’s most respected guitarists.

You can tell by the name - and the names involved - that REVOLUTION SAINTS isn’t your average rock 'n roll band. The new album brings back the classic melodic rock style to where it should be: inspiring, uplifting vocals, soaring melodies and musicianship to die for. It’s completely badass.

The project is the vision of Frontiers' President Serafino Perugino, who for years had hoped to work on a project where Deen would be the lead vocalist. Having previously worked with all three artists on different projects on Frontiers, having Deen, Jack and Doug on board together was a dream come true for Perugino.

With production overseen by in-house Frontiers man, Alessandro Del Vecchio (who also contributed to the songwriting and played keyboards on the album), the recording process took place in Portland, Oregon during the summer of 2014.

REVOLUTION SAINTS' music is played with a heart and soul and that highlights the passion and the enthusiasm of three of the best rock and all-around musicians in the game today. Truly, this will be a release that you cannot afford to miss. Lovers of melodic rock will fall in love all over again with REVOLUTION SAINTS.

Holy shit, sounds amazing to be totally honest. 100% better than anything these 3 guys have released since Bad English or Lion. This really sounds great. Can't wait.

"It's reminiscent of a little band a used to be in called, Lion."

A little band? Lion is easily the best thing he's ever been a part of, and that's not to belittle his other projects.

This really does sound great. I just wish they had a better name.

I love the talent of the guys involved. I agree with Geoff and KarpetRydOFunk that the name is like "Really?" To be fair, this rock 'n' roll game has been around for decades. Most of the good names have already been scooped up along the way, I suppose. So far, I think that this sounds good, but I don't hear anything special. I admit that I haven't been big on the whole supergroup movement in recent years, but if there's one that I really want to dig, it's this one. I hope to hear more soon. I know that I'll enjoy it, but I hope that it'll really grab me.

I know someone personally who has heard the complete album and their opinion is the album is a dissapointment, the lead song is the best track on the record. So approach with caution on this.

I know our tastes can differ and someone's treasure is another's trash but this is never the less something I personally am interested in hearing the full album.
