Hello,

My first post on here. I have been visiting Heavy Harmonies the site for 7 or 8 years, but just now found my way to the message board. Metal/ hard rock fan since the early 80's and I like many bands from AOR to death metal and many in between. Some of my favorite bands are Maiden, Motorhead, Sabbath, Hanoi Rocks, Accept, Warlock, Zeppelin, Prong, Van Halen, early Alice Cooper, WASP, Tigertailz, Lizzy Borden, Slayer and many others.

Salutes and hoots.

House rules state that the Noob has to buy the next round of beers. So I'll have something expensive in a frosted mug, and make it snappy.

    • Calling for you, Emaheeval & Gone bad on the debut Widowmaker album were all Desperado songs. Of course the Widowmaker debut was released before Desperado's album finally got a release even though it was recorded after. The thing that always made me laugh was that when it was first released as Bloodied but unbowed with three extra tracks to what was the original planned tracklist, I bought it from Dee Sniders website, so was fully endorsed by Dee. But years later when Deadline released it under its original name, Ace, without the three extra songs, Dee claimed it had never been released before ... selective memory?

    • Did not have "liking an album from The Offspring" on my 2024 bingo card, but there we are. Not sure if it's pop, punk, or something else... catchy though.
    • No no no!  Worst thing in the 80s (musicwise), Modern Talking.
    • Really liking this one bar the Journey cover, which whilst not terrible , doesn’t really do a lot for me. The rest though is rather excellent
    • Desperado was weak. Couple of ok songs, but that's it. Remember one album was unreleased and when it finally came out as a bootleg or whatever, expectations were not met. But that doesn't matter when what TS did was so killer.
    • I don't really know what this album is. Sounds a bit all over the place and to be completely fair, a whole lot less cohesive and/or structured than the AI album the dude put out earlier this year. Is it still a band, or just the main dude doing his own thing?  It's not a bad album, as such, just seems a bit all over the place to me in every regard.
    • I'll trust you on that one. I only had the Desperado album for a short while so my memory of it is a bit rusty. Maybe that's why I parted ways with it, as it was more or less doubling up? I remember I got either a great trade or good sale out of it, hence why it departed quick.
    • Desperado isn't heavier. A bunch of the songs were actually re-recorded for the first Widowmaker album. Desperado and the first Widowmaker are for me not that much different to Twisted Sister. Stand by for pain though was Dee trying to move into darker more "modern" territory, and can see why that would not appeal to everyone.
