  1. Just listened to the whole thing at work. Then went back and listened to the first two tracks again. I remember buying this new.
  2. I wanted to talk about this band, The Lost. This mourning I was driving in to work, flipping stations. I hit a few college stations, because their play lists are all over the place. And I love hearing young students miss pronounce Van Halen. Anyway, The Lost came on. I saw them on a Thursday night once at Club Bene in NJ. They would have like 8 bands on Thursdays and these guy stood out. Then like a year later, I see them on MTV. Then my buddy, who is a guitar tech, called me up and said do you wanna see the Lost, we’ll get in for free. I was like sure. Then he calls me back and says, they need some guitar strings and we have to go early and knock on the back door. It was cool, we all hung out and shot the shit before the show. The funny thing was, this was during the unplugged trend. And it was advertised as the Lost unplugged. All the local bands brought their stools and played unplugged. When the introduced the Lost, FULL ELECTRIC! Cool as hell. Then I remember WNEW radio was goi g to have them play a free concert on the steps of city hall in NYC. So the played and hyped the band up until the concert. Then basically stopped playing them. thanks for reading another long John story. More to come. Lol
  3. Yesterday I listened to the entire Trick or Treat soundtrack by Fastway.
  4. Motley Crue- Live Wire White Zombie- Thunder Kiss ‘65 Danzig- Twist of Cane Danzig- Am I Demon
  5. I would love to hit more stadiums. I’ve only been to Camden Yards and whatever the Padres stadium is called. That place was fun. Gotta get to Chicago and Boston, though.
  6. I only know U.D.O. from the 90’s and his time before that in Accept. All good music. I try not to be a music snob. Some of the nu metal just seems over engineered and busy with a lot of sound. But, as long as hard music keeps getting made, it’s all good.
  7. We’ll I was into Limp Bizkit. I know they have new music out. Most nu metal, I tolerate, but not in love with.
  8. WSOU is Seton Hall University’s radio station. It’s had a metal format for years. It’s more hardcore, now. Many of the bands playing the NJ/NY area would stop in. It was a great time. It was a lot of hair and glam. They would play a new band and I would check the East Coast Rocker newspaper for when they came to town. That was life before the internet. Then I would see the bands at places like Lamour, Limelight and Studio 1. But, I was only exposed to what WSOU played or MTV showed.
  9. I was a late bloomer for metal. I grew up in Jersey and my high school was very southern and classic rock driven. I graduated in ‘84 and metal really took off locally around the following year. In school I bounced around between new wave (very popular at the time), but also was always into the Beatles. Then the Doors big time and still am. I remember having the Screaming for Vengeance cassette in ‘82. Thanks to MTV. But I was all over the map with music. From early Run DMC to Adam Ant. I got a job with a long haired metal head that got me listening to WSOU and GnR blew up and I never looked back. I went to Birch Hill night club for the first time and said this is where I belong. I started growing my hair that very night, lol. I had a good run in the clubs from 88-97. The scene definitely was changing. I cut my hair, but I never stopped listening to metal. Now married with 21 year old twin boys and a business owner. I have a food truck and recently a restaurant. I stream the Metal ShopRocks from Toronto everyday before I open. I highly recommend it. No commercials, and not very repetitive, like satellite. With the food truck I get to hear, not necessarily see live bands. Every year we the Trifecta Food Truck and Music festival. It’s kinda like a tribute and cover band Woodstock. But, tomorrow night I’m going to see Just Sabbath. Can’t wait.
  10. Crazy old topic of mine. RIP TM Stevens
  11. I’m going to see the Yankees for the first time. Their playing in Baltimore at the end of the month. It’s fun living in a small state with their own team.
  12. I like the Reckoning. They play it the Metal Shop Rocks. I talked to Mark quite a few times in the clubs back in Jersey. Totally a cool and regulator guy. His cover band Big Richard would always end with Ace of Spades.
