What CDs did you buy this week?

Yesterday on my doorstep:

my current trip down my KISS discography.

 

I hope part of that trip down Kiss lane didn't include "Unmasked".

I only have from 'Creatures of the night' onwards, but I have to admit a part of me might want to check out their earlier albums. I have 'The Elder' and 'Alive I' and 'Alive II' on tape, but I never really enjoyed any of them, aside from the slight and obligatory enjoyment of the classic tracks.

The first six studio albums and the Alive I and II are essential but "Dynasty" and "Unmasked" lack any edge to them. Not that the all of the songs are bad they just are way over produced and have disco style to some of them. The Ace sung tracks on both albums are good though.

Couldn't believe I got it. It was the one that ended last Friday. I was too tired to stay up until it ended so I threw in a bid and went to bed not expecting to get it. The last two copies up on ebay have both been from the same seller out in AZ so I kind of think they must have a few they are going to put up.

Rick Springfield - Because the album is f*cking excellent. Have you heard it?

 

Busted - Because as much as I hate these guys this album does have some very infectious teen pop-rock anthems and for the price I got it for I thought I may as well. Not sure how many spins it'll get, but it's a very guilty pleasure of mine.

 

Plus 44 - This isn't that bad... but sure as hell isn't great either. Once again, it cost me pocket change so I thought I may as well. There are a heap of decent tracks on here, but still nothing that stands out. On average, these CDs cost me $5 each so I bought a couple of wouldn't usually buy.

 

Having just listened to Busted and Plus 44, I have to admit the Busted one is actually worlds better. If the little homos had actually written some non-homo lyrics they might actually have had a nice pop-rock disc.
