Wow, there's quite a few on this one that I really like but I ended up going with Don't Stop Believin'.

I know, it's hard to find anything on here that you could call "bad" or even "filler"... unbelievably good release.

  • 4 years later...

Having just listened to this today, I went with 'Mother Father'.

Man that is just one brilliant song....the lyrics, the vocals are perfect from Perry, the solo is AMAZING (and one of Schon's best IMO).....just a perfect song. I never get tired of listening to this song, even after 30 years!

Great and classic album.

As others have said, lots of great songs, but 'Still They Ride' for me. Great tune that doesn't seem to be talked about much.

Great album with my favourite song being Mother Father, as Glen says, excellent guitar and fabulous vocals from Perry.

Next would be Who`s Crying Now and Still They Ride.

Absolutely sick of hearing Don`t Stop Believing and this was way before Glee / The X Factor.

    • The goddamn ADV fellow involved. Again.  From Frontiers: Frontiers Music Srl is proud to present Killer Kings' debut album entitled "Burn For Love". Killer Kings is a musical alliance between Gregory Lynn Hall (ex- 101 South) and Tristan Avakian (ex- Red Dawn, Queen Extravaganza).  Killer Kings first came about when Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino thought of bringing Gregory Lynn Hall, the former singer of 101 South, an AOR band who released three albums between 2000 and 2009, and Tristan Avakian, a very gifted guitarist who made his name in the '90s with the Melodic Hard Rock band Red Dawn, together. Musically, Killer Kings mixes the AOR approach of both Red Dawn and 101 South with some interesting twists.  Gregory Lynn Hall has had a long history in the music industry, in all areas from studio work to live performances. Gregory pounded the pavement in the thriving '80s Hollywood rock scene, playing at all the rock venues from Gazzaris to the Troubadour to The Country Club. He eventually left L.A. after the '80s hard rock scene died down and became a session vocalist, singing on many well known Christian artists' albums. In the late '90s, he returned to California and in 1999, while doing a session in Malibu, he met Roger Scott Craig (ex-Fortune) and thus 101 SOUTH was born. Shortly after the first 101 SOUTH album (2000) was finished, Gregory was asked to join the band Heaven & Earth as their bass player and toured with them to support the "Windows to the World" album. He would then go on to record two more acclaimed 101 SOUTH albums and one solo record in 2014. Tristan Avakian is a professional musician of many years with extensive experience in theater, touring, writing, and producing. Cirque du Soleil, Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Biohazard are just some of the names from the varied genres and artists he has immersed himself in. He has also worked with producers such as Steve Thompson and Rob Thomas and joined the Queen Extravaganza show in the USA. He is also known for being the guitarist of '90s Melodic Hard Rockers Red Dawn, a band formed by former Rainbow keyboardist David Rosenthal, together with other two Rainbow alumni Chuck Burgi and Greg Smith, which released a critically acclaimed album for EMI Toshiba in Japan in 1993. Tracklisting: 1. Burn For Love 2. I Will Be Stronger 3. Higher 4. In A Different World 5. Another Night, Another Fight 6. Phoenix 7. Two Ships 8. Losing Me 9. Do Or Die 10. The Pains Of Yesterday 11. Ain’t No End In Sight Line-Up: Gregory Lynn Hall - Vocals Tristan Avakian - Guitars Alessandro Del Vecchio - Bass, Keyboards Nicholas Papapicco - Drums Additional Musicians: Tommy Denander - Keyboards on 'Burn For Love'
    • The search button is your friend, not your enemy...
    • Loving aspects of this. It's like a cassette tape, actually. I quite love most of the first half, but the second side balladry is a bit of a pass for me. The one exception being 'Smoking.' What a cool groove. I wasn't sure I was going to love it from the start, but man it's a cool song.  'Why Are You Calling Me Now' is an absolute belter, and I like the first 8 songs (except 'Time to let it go' and 'Don't go'). Good album with a very nice sound.
    • This is out and it's very nice. Interesting how far removed it is from a song like 'Midnight in Miami,' but it's still very good. I do enjoy.  Heart Of Gold     -    Beautiful Dangerous 1    .    To The Blue 2    .    Headache 3    .    Patient 4    .    Bright Lights 5    .    There's A Difference Between 6    .    Leave Just Yet 7    .    Something That Lasts Forever 8    .    September Sunburn 9    .    Backseat Daydream 10    .    Hometime 11    .    Bad Habit 12    .    Co-Dependent 13    .    And Something That Never Ends 14    .    Time Spent Driving This'd be my favourite tune off the new album.
    • These guys have a new album, with some very nice surprises aboard.  Hollywood Undead     -    Hotel Kalifornia 1    .    CHAOS 2    .    World War Me 3    .    Ruin My Life 4    .    Hourglass 5    .    Go To War 6    .    Alone At The Top 7    .    Wild In These Streets 8    .    Dangerous 9    .    Lion Eyes 10    .    Trap God 11    .    Happy When I Die 12    .    Reclaim 13    .    City Of The Dead 14    .    Alright
    • Very, very safe. To be totally honest, I didn't find a keeper on here, but it's a solid album, all right on the verge of something a bit better. Nice, safe AOR.
    • You sure? I could be wrong but I thought Ronnie's only contribution to this project, from the start, had been his vocals? Either way, the new album's more of the same. I don't dislike any of it, and I don't furiously love any of it either. It's all pretty nice. 'Riot' is my favourite on the album half because it's a nice ballad but also because I expected it to be some plodding songs about riots but instead it was a trick shot. Nice.
    • Of Virtue     -    Sinner 1    .    Hypocrite 2    .    Sinner 3    .    Cold Blooded 4    .    Echoes Quick, pretty harsh but a cool EP for those who don't mind a scream or two-
    • Another one I've mentioned before. Bummed it's only an EP (with two of the same songs on it) but Outsider Heart have released a delicious EP- Outsider Heart     -    Entertainment 1    .    Entertainment 2    .    Anyone But You 3    .    MONSTER 4    .    Crop Circles 5    .    Like The Rest 6    .    Crop Circles (feat. Brody) Sure I posted it before, but I love this song-
    • Anybody out there loving the new album? So good. Pale Waves     -    Unwanted 1    .    Lies 2    .    Unwanted 3    .    The Hard Way 4    .    Jealousy 5    .    Alone 6    .    Clean 7    .    Without You 8    .    Only Problem 9    .    You're So Vain 10    .    Reasons To Live 11    .    Numb 12    .    Act My Age 13    .    So Sick (Of Missing You)
