    Crashdiet

I have not gotten around to checking this out yet. These days it seems like I get about 2 minutes on the computer when I am at home.
  3. Congrats, Jeff !! Will you enlighten us to what was your tip ? I wish I had some sort of great story to tell on how I picked that one. One thing in my mind, and I mentioned something about this early in a post, was that I didn't think it would be one of the popular favorites on this board, i.e., Crazy Lixx, Crashdiet, Pretty Maids, etc.
  4. Seems like you've been travelling a lot lately have you had time to unpack?
  5. More hot chicks with camera, less guy playing guitar
  6. Loved the Morning Wood release Does this qualify for "Things that sound dirty on music message boards but aren't"?
  7. Hope you are bangin' today! I'll crank Manitoba's Wild Kingdom - The Party Starts Now!! in honor of your day.
  8. Just call me Carnac The Incapable. Wow, I can't recall ever winning anything before. Maybe I will go buy a PowerBall ticket...and a Taking Dawn cd. Very cool Dan, thanks again for keeping this site up and runnin'.
  9. Lipstixx 'N' Bulletz - Bang Your Head Sure, why not...
  10. I have their first release and it was nothing spectacular. Road To Ruin and West Wind Blows were decent rockers but other than that nothing very memorable.
  11. I was blue, however In The Shower was not a choice for #10 so I took Deep in a Forest. 10. Where do you feel most yourself? o near a body of water o deep in a forest o in a big city o in a dark room o nowhere
  12. Not sure how many of you have given this a good listen but it's a great release, beginning to end IMO. My favorites: Bang Your Head Rock Me Do Or Die My Heart Belongs To You Wild At Heart Be Mine Tonight Highly recommended.
  13. If you don't have this CD let me know, you can have mine. I'll bring it down to DRF. I couldn't get into these guys. I found Push Push Lady Lightning to be alright but after that it was too much.
  14. Wasn't it Jackson that called Obama the N-word when he was on the radio and thought they had gone to commercial? I recall something like that and thinking he is just as racist as anyone else. Like DP said, anything out of his mouth is irrelavent.
  15. Has every name in the world been taken? This is a HORRIBLE name for a band No kidding. I'll give them a listen but I hope their name does not give any indication of what their lyrics are.
  16. Alright Geoff, Matt and Wes...I'll give you guys 'til the end of the week to lay off the Mary Jane and come to your senses. Well, to each his own, but I admit I am surprised there isn't a little more love for these guys on this board considering the Crashdiet fans we have here. Sure they probably won't be knocking Crashiet or Crazy Lixx off the radio charts but I'm hard pressed to find any reason not to include them right up there. My top 3 of 2010 stands like this right now: 1. Crashdiet, 2. Parasite City, 3. Crazy Lixx
  17. Honestly I put Parasite City's releases right up there with what Crashdiet has done. Maybe a little rougher and not as polished as the Generation Wild but overall just as good to listen to. In fact, I would guess that Minstrel's Creed has gotten more play time than Generation Wild has for me. That is saying something because I really like Generation Wild...a lot, but it is being challenged for my top spot by Parasite City. As for the debut, 10 Hits To KO, there are some killer tracks on that one. I think I read somewhere that Secretly Mine was a radio hit over in Europe. Nymphomaniac, Selfish, No Place Like Home, Tombstone are stand outs among a solid effort.
  18. A very good release and a must have for fans of the genre. Notice how Crashdiet has set the bar for all these other bands.
  19. FYI, you can download Top Hat Alleycat's Most Triumphat EP for free off their Myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/tophatalleycat
  20. Understood. Plus, you not only have your actual costs but also a lot of time put into maintaining that does not get recovered. What I was thinking was if there was a rough idea for the active board members I wondered if you might get better results if you said something like "There are about 200 of you that are fairly active (you know who you are) and if you could afford $20 that would reach the goal". And maybe that number is not $20, maybe it is more, maybe less, but it gives a each person a number in their mind. Just a thought, not sure if it would work for the better or not.
  21. Hey Dan, do you have a rough idea of how many fairly "active" members there are and what he average donation amount from each you would need in order to hit the goal? Or maybe that is something you don't even want to venture to guess.
  22. I didn't find a thread for this recent release. How many of you have searched this one out yet? If you have not and you like the Crashdiet/Hardcore Superstar style, I highly recommend that you check out Parasite City. And if you already know them and liked their debut this one is just as good. It is not instantly as catchy throughout as the debut but it has 3 instant killer songs (Seven Years, Good Enough For You, Bagful Of Sin), and 7 other great tracks that get better each time I spin them. They have become one of those bands that I get greedy and can't wait for their next release already. Check them out: http://www.myspace.com/parasitecity
