  1. I'm so ashamed, I'm not even worthy to ask you to refrain from throwing stones. I just finished my first listen of "Mood Swings." I can't recall how many times I've seen the numerous accolades from the lot of you and many others with regards to this album, yet I never picked it up until now. So, here I am giving it a listen, not at all prepared, because I've only heard "Harem Scarem," "Weight of the World," "Human Nature," "Hope," and the "MelodicRock EP," and then 'If There Was A Time' comes on and a wave of various emotions crashes over me. My previous exposure to this track was the acoustic version from the aforementioned "MelodicRock EP." In no way was I ready for an onslaught of fierce guitars and soaring vocals. Hallelujah! Holy shit!
  2. The DVD's to get are the 2 disc "re-release". This release has the "new" version of the original trilogy and the original as well. Just found them, actually. $35! What a steal. I haven't watched them in years, and now I'm excited all over again!
  3. Spent the weekend on the island (Vancouver Island) and visited a couple music shops. I exercised great restriction, but still picked up a few titles: Babylon A.D. - Nothing Sacred Def Leppard - Hysteria Great White - Hooked Harem Scarem - Mood Swings Glenn Hughes - First Underground Nuclear Kitchen Killer Dwarfs - Dirty Weapons Scorpions - Humanity-Hour 1 Slaughter - The Wild Life A good weekend, and now a week of good music.
  4. I think I'd rather track down the original versions on DVD.
  5. Okay, now that pisses me off as I've always considered myself all good! And me all bad!!!
  6. X Men: First Class Easily the best of the X Men films. I really enjoyed this one. I'm not a comic guy, so I didn't mind the changes. Bridesmaids This time it was the unrated version. Dammit, I love this film. It's bloody hilarious. If you haven't seen it, yet, pick it up. I strongly doubt you'll be disappointed.
  7. Yeah, well the industry is suffering. 3D didn't take off the way they hoped. 3DTVs that were originally $3000+ are going for $1000 or less. It definitely never interested me much--just for gaming, but only Sony supports that at the moment.
  8. First sample sounds great. I'll get around to the others later.
  9. I really like the new Alice Cooper. Today is gonna be all Joe Bonamassa.
  10. Wowaweeoo. Nice truck. Your kids seem to like it, too. I'm glad to see things are looking up for you.
  11. Oh, shit. I didn't think of that. I just want Star Wars 1, 2, and 3--not Episodes 1, 2, and 3--and I want the original versions.
  12. Holy shit! My whole body is cringing with the thought of bearing all that pain. Glad to hear you're alive and well.
  13. Yes. Thank you, Jez. I don't know why so many people that aren't very fond of Progressive music leave negative remarks toward Progressive albums. What are they expecting?
  14. Who is this Flo person? I think I like them. I'm really enjoying this album, but I agree that the mix could be better. It sounds like the drums are massive. It sounds like he's really givin' 'er, but they're so quiet. I'd really like to see these guys live. Hear them without the drums silenced.
  15. I spotified my hot neighbor lady taking her trash out the other day. Lucky you. I wish I had a fine-ass neighbor lady to spotify doing various things.
  16. Have you heard the Robin Hood single?? weak!! hope its better then that. Go jump on a pole, Matt. Everything I've heard from the album rocks! After this weekend I plan to be well acquainted with it. So you haven't heard half the songs on it yet, then? Actually, the entire thing is quite phenomenal! The only song that isn't quite grabbing me by the balls is "Breathe." Yeah I was just jesting because I like to see you frown. Plus, 2 of the first 3 songs do suck (which is all I'd heard when I made that comment), but overall it's a pretty damn good CD. Of course the songs are WAAAY too long and there are 3 piece of shit songs, but the rest is very nice. Heh, we disagree again. What a surprise. I love Robin Hood. It gets better with each listen. And I love long songs. Throughout highschool all I listened to was Prog Rock, so I'm used to eight minute songs.
  17. Yeah, Their last three were amazing. I'm not sure if I fully support the direction they're going, but no one can say they aren't making good music. I do wish, however, they would have a few more "simpler" songs. Some of my favourites are Wither, The Answer Lies Within, and Wait For Sleep. That new song sounds great, but you can definitely tell that's not Portnoy behind the kit.
  18. So, Steelheart's rendition of "Black Dog" is too obvious? But it's so damn good!!
  19. You honestly think Olli from Reckless Love sounds deep, sad and depressing? Or Michael Monroe for that matter? And lets not forget Niki from Barbe-Q-Barbies. Yeah, I was gonna say something earlier, but I was a little too pissed at the comment and figured I'd let one of you step in.
  20. Just bought some Innis & Gunn Rum Cask. Very interesting. Not yet decided on it. Lowen Brau is always great; bought a few of those. And I picked up a sixer of Harp Lager for my roommate. I also have a mini-keg of The Backhand of God Stout in my fridge--excellent stuff.
