  1. You still working the shift? I've got nothing to say, but hopefully seeing there was a new reply excited you.
  2. Okay, after checking out the site, I realize why it's taken this long. I know you kept announcing digital music, but it never registered what that entailed. Looking good, however I don't buy digital music. Still looking forward to Jillson!!
  3. Yes. I like to touch. I like getting physical with my CDs.
  4. Hall & Oates were absolutely incredible!! My only complaint would be that 90 minutes is not enough to go through their library justly--even with two encores. I guess I'll have to catch another show in the future. Incredible.
  5. Nice. I have not seen them, but they are still sounding amazing! Two hours to go and there are a bunch of people with lawn chairs in front of the stage. Bastards!! Once it starts I'm gonna walk up to the front and stick my ass infront of some fat-ass in a chair.
  6. Have you heard the Robin Hood single?? weak!! hope its better then that. Go jump on a pole, Matt. Everything I've heard from the album rocks! After this weekend I plan to be well acquainted with it. So you haven't heard half the songs on it yet, then? Actually, the entire thing is quite phenomenal! The only song that isn't quite grabbing me by the balls is "Breathe."
  7. I love Lion. I really need to pick up their albums, but every copy I come across on eGay, I always fear it might be a boot. And they're usually too expensive. Don't Stop - Bad City That Bad City album has been my favourite discovery this year. I keep expecting to grow tired of it, but the exact opposite happens with each listen. I need to pick this one up, too! get the bonus track 'Love On War' its the best song............ No, I disagree. "Don't Stop" or "Touch" are better. That's not to say "War On Love" isn't great. Or did you not mean "War On Love?" Is "Love On War" another bonus track? Maybe a demo? Heh.
  8. Haha, Tim, I must lack reasonable taste then. WOA doesn't stand out in a poor year, but blend in rather well. Boring disc. Hitchcock is a bit better, but still too much filler IMO. To each their own Well fair enough if you don't rate them as highly, but what has been better? Nothing in the AOR field comes close, and sure there's been good stuff like Night Ranger etc but I'm not blown-away by anything else.... Airrace is still my favorite 2011 AOR album and it blows away WOA and Toby Hitchcock. Robin Beck, Night Ranger and Journey are other goodies as well. But I agree there hasn't been much to get excited about AOR-wise this year. 2011 has been great IMO.....when I look at my current top 20 its pretty awesome. I can honestly say that all those albums are keepers and will be played to death in the coming months/years. And that's with loads of potentially great discs to come...like Grand Design, Reckless Love, Steel Panther, Strangeways, White Widdow, Dream Theater, Jamison/Kimball, The Magnificent...hell even ISSA might come up with a decent album this time ;-)) But just to summerise, WoA and TH are head and shoulders above any other release this year and are up there with the best releases this millenium IMO. Cheers Work Of Art and Hitchcock are definitely up there, but I still prefer the Lovex disc over both of them. All of them are top quality and will probably feature highly in most peoples top 20's, so completely pointless arguing which one is the better, as personal taste will decide that. I've seen a porn film called Lovex, but never heard of a band with that name? Is it some glam/sleaze thing? No mate, super dooper modern melodic Rock from Finland with some huge choruses all over the place. All three of their discs are great, but the new one 'Watch Out!' is utterly fabulous. Is it like The Poodles and that kinda stuff? Way way better than The Poodles. Here is the thread Stef started on them, which has a few snippets. Seriously a killer disc. http://heavyharmonies.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=26845 Ooh, them's fightin' words, Jezzy! But, seriously, Tim, how have you never heard of Lovex?! Excellent Modern Melodic Hard Rock! They're not too similar to The Poodles. They have a much more Modern sound, and even a Poppiness to them, but very Melodic. "Watch Out!" is a fantastic album. You really need to give it a listen, soon.
  9. Wow. I can't even to begin to imagine what that might be like. Life on the westcoast of Canada never sees that level of excitement. I'm very happy to hear you and your family are safe--that's what matters most--and that the damage was relatively minimal. Thanks for keeping us informed. These forums are a sort of family, so when one of us isn't around for a while, we start wondering what has happened. At least I do. I hope life quickly returns to normal for you.
  10. Hall & Oates tomorrow night. Everytime they come around I miss it, but not this time.
  11. Have you heard the Robin Hood single?? weak!! hope its better then that. Go jump on a pole, Matt. Everything I've heard from the album rocks! After this weekend I plan to be well acquainted with it.
  12. You're killing me, Smalls! You're really killing me!
  13. It's been a great few weeks, and this would've been a nice cherry on top of a monstrous August. Perhaps it'll be the start of an amazing September.
  14. 4:20. Still nothing. I swear, as soon as it's listed I will buy it.
  15. Nothing yet. Must be later today. I s'pose it is a little early, but I just can't wait any longer!!
  16. Pre-ordered three copies of the new Edguy last week--one for me and my two brothers. They won't arrive until the end of this month but ordering through Amazon UK was much cheaper than the Nuclear Blast website. I can't wait to hear it.
  17. Yes! Finally, someone else appreciates the new Electric Boys.
  18. Oh wow, did you seriously turn into a servant of the Lord while you were away? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you were normal before weren't you? Seriously, scallop, take me through it. What happened? Nothing's changed--I've never been normal. Maybe you're just starting to read the things I say.
  19. Just arrived: Johnny Markin - The Call Home This is my worship pastor's AOR album from 1990. I can't wait to listen to it!
  20. Yeah, that kicked ass. I was in Vegas, and it was my birthday when you posted this, so I wasn't anywhere near the forums, or I would have voted.
  21. Look at you guys taking the 'law' into your own hands. This is awesome. I'll be watching how this turns out.
  22. Sex - Reckless Love What an incredible song. I hope they have something similar on their upcoming album.
