  1. I have listened to this many many times, and I stand by my original comments that my favs are 'Livin On The Run', 'Falling Down', 'Better Off Alone', 'Need Her' and 'Heartbreaker'. And that these stack up against their back catalogue. 'Need her' and 'Living on the run' really stood out on first listen. I'm sure after many more spins I will take this to bed and insert my longmember into it's center. Speaking of odd folk...
  2. Yeah backed - the comments about lacking a stand out track are crazy?! At least 5 or 6 are killer, it's just that I thought they would nail all ten! I'm greedy like that ;-) Oh, most definitely. But they didn't nail all their tracks from the previous two albums.
  3. After one full spin through I have to say that I agree with most that the mid-tempo / ballads are the best tunes (not to say that the rockers arent good of course!). Those above are my instant favs and every one is a KILLER - Ive put my initial scores in brackets. Z, the one score you have which is a bit low is 'My Name'....that is such a great track, at least a 9/10 for me. 'For My Sake' is excellent - a perfect modern rock song IMO. Cheers To be honest the F bombs in the chorus are unecessary, those dropping the score a bit. I have to agree with you. It keeps me from playing this on the job site, which results in a lot less air play than other recent releases.
  4. What is your guy's definition of a "stand out" track? How do "Living on the Run," "In and Out of Trouble," and "Need Her" not meet the requirements. Is the album perfect? No. There are songs I wish I could tweak slightly, but the effort is pretty f*cking incredible, nonetheless!!
  5. I really like Rob Rock's cover of "Move On" feat. Tobias Sammet. Speaking of Tobi, I also like H.E.A.T.'s "Black Night," although I understand I may be alone in that.
  6. Well, for me, I'm still new to the game, so most of what I listen to is based off the reviews on the forums or main site. Obviously I've gone against the grain on some purchases, but I'm probably more open-minded than most. Also, because I'm "too young to listen to this music," I didn't start from the beginning of most catalogues. I usually start with the albums most recently released or most highly praised. I'm not too often dissapointed. That is not to say I'm never dissapointed, however. I have to agree with the Poodles. Sweet Trade was a bit of a let down, but they made up for it immensely with Clash of the Elements. I'd also like to add Nouveaux. Beginnings was a great release, and a good platform to build upon. Going acoustic with And This is how I Feel, was the deffinition of the wrong direction to take your second album.
  7. And, again, it's "NOT RETROSPECT RECORDS CHEAP EDITION." I don't know they keep mentioning this.
  8. Absolutely nothing!! I'm using my old iPod, but it appears it doesn't want to work for me. Bastard!
  9. I'm kind of glad they don't release anything new. I hate when these older bands release something and it is just crap. I think it kind of keeps the KIX legacy going stronger if they don't release anything. Most people just complain if bands release new material under the same name without original members. I'm more than happy to see KIX 8 or so times a year with them playing the classics. Yep. KIX has never released anything bad. Why chance it now? Their live show is incredibly tight! Do yourself a favour and check 'em out. Holy Crap!!! We actually agree on something... Don't let this become a habit.. Wait... We're often in disagreement with one another? I guess my views differ from so many here, I can't always keep track of who. If you're genuinely worried about this becoming habitual, you need not be. I shall return to my nonsensical ways, shortly.
  10. Happy Easter everyone. Whether you're celebrating the resurrection of Christ, or not, I hope you're spending the day with those you love.
  11. Just got back from TSO's "Beethoven's Last Night." It was pretty frickin' awesome!
  12. I have the opposite problem... I can't shave with a "regular" razor. In fact, I've never really learned how. My Dad tried to teach me when I was in my teens and on my first attempt I gashed my cheek open so I said "F*ck this sh*t, get me an electric razor!" At least your dad tried. I had to figure it out myself. And the first four years I would dry shave.
  13. Forget the bag of freshly shorn pubes. Upgrade him to a bag of dog poo. I dunno. I think the pubes are more personal. I would stick with the pubes. I'm a dog poo type of guy, send the dog poo.. Or both. Why have we not considered both?
  14. Is he actually back? He posted this in June and has 13 posts to his name.
  15. The Raid Action-packed from start to finish! This film will have you on the edge of your seat, squirming with every gratiutously violent blow and break. There are many moments where you may have to get up out your seat to fully express your appreciation/disgust/shock/horror. It is a Malaysian film, so it's subtitled, but don't let that hold you back. This is one of the best action films of the last decade. An absolute must watch.

  18. Something going on between you two we don't know about?
  19. So, I've done some searching on gohastings and I've noticed they're not completely clueless. Anything even remotely hard to find is priced high. What I'm gathering is that it's a great site to pick up all your common albums at around $1.49-$2.49, but how bad is shipping? Did I read correctly that, because they're coming from different locations, you pay shipping on each indivdual item?
  20. Yep, sounds pretty tight. I might have to add this to the list.
  21. And 90 percent of them are simply praises to KIX!
  22. Need to Believe was my first exposure to Gotthard, and probably my favourite, but albums like Open and Human Zoo really display why they are one of the greatest bands out there.
