  1. It's actually a very awesome disc. I'd definately call it glam, though some of the songs are much heavier than most of your typical 80's glam bands. Certainly doesn't qualify as thrash, not even close. that kage album reminds me alot of leatherwolf & fifth angel, their 2nd album is pretty cool too There is a 2nd album? What's that one called?

  3. Not a lot of real rarities in my collection, most of it is quite easy to come by. A few of the rarer titles that I own (relative to the rest of my collection) include: CD: Kage - State of Mind Broken Silence - Discerning the Times Tsunami - Tough Under Fire Scarlet Red - Don't Dance With Danger Safire - S/T EP Shake The Jungle - Stick To Your Guns (Thanks to Glam Junkie) Icon - An Even More Perfect Union (Original) Harlequin - S/T (with Jerry Harrison from Icon) Jezzebelle - Bad Attitude (Orig 1990 CD, not 2005 re-issue) Hurry Scurry - Break It Up Mindscape - Get Used To it Vinyl: Carmen Suite - The Gift Whitesnake - One in a Million (fan club LP) Cassette: Cyclone Tracy Demo 1992
  4. Slaves Of New Brunswick - S/T Scorpions - Moment Of Glory Mark Mangold - Mirror Image Glen Burtnick - Retrospectacle Project X - Blueprint For Xcess Crown Of Thorns - Breakthrough Innocent - S/T Departure - S/T
  5. good man!! not enough love for this bands older stuff.. Yeah great band. A couple of other favourites are 'Waking Up Tired', 'Kamakazi Pilot' and '1000 Miles Away'. If anyone's looking for a CD to get - their greatest hits 2CD 'Ampology' is an awesome compilation. They also have a DVD out called Tunnel Vision which is well worth picking up. I also have a really old VHS of them playing during their uni days, before they were well known...I'm trying to get it put on DVD.
  6. Here's a high quality vid of the outburst where you can hear what she is saying. Link
  7. Most people by now would have seen Serenas recent outburst during her US Open semi final against Kim Clijsters. I can't believe how many people are trying to defend her. I can understand that it was a dodgy call by the lines woman, especially at that stage of a tennis match (match point down); but her outburst was in-excusable and IMO she needs to face a suspension and issue an appology. Yes Serena is only human, yes it was probably a "brain melt" which she didn't give much/any thought too, and yes she faces a lot of pressure from fans and media - being in the spotlight all the time; but that was honestly right up there with one of the most abusive outbursts I can remember. I think even John Mcenroe was more tame. Serena needs to realise that she is a role model for young kids all around the world, and as such she can't say stuff like that. I think the worst part of all this is that Serena has refused to appologise. Until she does, Serena has lost all respect from me. If you missed it - Serena Williams Outburst - YouTube Video
  8. Rick Price - Heaven Knows Rick Price - Not A Day Goes By
  9. Love this band... Hoodoo Gurus - My Girl Hoodoo Gurus - Tojo Hoodoo Gurus - Come Any Time Hoodoo Gurus - Good Times

    Fist

Great, I do quite like a lot of the Canadian Hard Rock bands from the 80's, for example the previously mentioned Triumph and April Wine, so I'll give this band a listen too. Sounds like it shouldn't be too difficult to track down some CD's on Amazon/E-Bay. I might stay away from the heavier ones - 'Reign Of Terror' and 'Loud Loud' for now. Thanks guys for the info.

    Fist

Can anyone tell me about this band 'Fist' from Ontario, Canada, formed in 1979. Are they a Hard Rock group like April Wine/Triumph that sota thing or heavier? Which is their best album? Were any of their older albums released on CD at some point? Useless information...in searching for info on this band I discovered there is a New Zealand Death Metal band called 'Fist Fucked by Aliens'. Found that funny and had to share.
  13. I can't get their MySpace page to load properly..it's all messed up.
  14. Yeah, I've checked them out further and they're not my thing at all. But that song 'God Damn' is really great.
  15. Yeah I'm looking forward to this too. Man I've read some nasty comments by people about the sound of these new songs. Not so much here but on other boards and YouTube. Some people are determined to hate KISS no matter what they do. I say good on 'em for making a new album.
  16. Hey mate, no that's the same band I mentioned. I actually picked this CD up from a Cash Converters in Indooroopilly ($6 if I recall correctly) when I was there for work, wow, going back a decade now? A long time ago. It is a great disc (even with the pretty simple production job) and sadly I traded it away because of a great offer from my Canadian buddy. I made a CDR copy with full artwork that still resides in my collection. I actually went straight to the site you mentioned and would have bought it again... but $25 is a little too much for me. I wonder what their 2nd CD is like. Yeah they mention Indooroopilly in the liner notes. So is the CD you bought back then called 'Dreams In Action' or is their a S/T CD that comes before it? I'm confused. 'Dreams in action' definitely sounds familiar, but I thought it was s/t. Could be completely wrong though. Is 'Dreams in action' a visible title on the cover? Actually I can check tonight on my artworked CDR. I know 100% for sure the disc I had is the same tracklist as what you have. I also noticed that if you buy their CDs their PO box is in Indooroopilly. Yeah it has to be the same one. The cover is s bit wierd actually, it's like a crappy computer generated old building with a planet behind it and a random 1 year old baby on the side. Need drugs to understand.

  18. Wildfire - Dreams In Action Year - 1998 Record Label - Horizons Music Band Members: Anthony Edwards - Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, Keyboards Ivan Brinklow - Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals Mark Shaw - Bass Guitar Phil Preston - Drums Track Listing: Fighting Words Too Many Nights How Do I Win Your Heart One Shot At The Title Didn't Wanna Leave Jamie Veip Maybe Only Music Dreams In Action Instinct Anyone heard of these guys?? I picked this up for 99cents having no clue who they are or what they sound like. Turns out this is some really nice Melodic Rock/AOR from here in sunny Queensland. The production is not the best but the ballads on this CD (of which there are many) are really very nice. I'm not so keen on their heavier songs though. From what I can gather they are from Brisbane or the Gold Coast and released this debut album in 1998 followed by 'Silver Bell Valley' in 2001. Anthony Edwards also released a CD called 'Universeleven - Time 2 Rock' in 2006. He is now part of a Christian band called 6across. Does anyone have anymore info on these guys. I noticed Geoff you mentioned Wildfire - S/T in one the early posts in this thread. I'm guessing that is a completely different band? You can apparantly purchace this and the other CD's I mentioned from the 6across website. I'd be keeping an eye out on E-Bay and the local 2nd hand shops for this one. Definately worth it if you can find it cheap.
  19. Holy Shit!! Now that's what I call a haul!! Uber backed! Numerous excellent releases/selections there Justin! Although your postman probably is not likin' ya too much these dayz! Yeah I'm pretty sure the postman would hate me. But yeah, after my splurging out on CD's the past week or so, I'm going to have to take it easy for a while. There are a lot of new releases coming up that are essential though.
