  1. Anyone know this band? Check out this video, pretty cool stuff. url=" Weather Video on Youtube[/url]
  2. Absolutely! 'Quicksand Jesus' and 'In A Darkened Room' rate very highly on my list. But I would've been very suprised if they did play either of them. It's like Ratt never playing 'One Step Away' and 'Giving Yourself Away'. I don't know why these bands always leave out some real killer songs. Yeah, I was quietly hopeful for 'In a darkened room' as I'm sure I've read somewhere that it's one of the members' favourite songs. It could have been Bach, though. But yeah, I thought at least one of those tunes might get a go, but it was not to be. As for the rockers, would have loved to hear 'Livin' on a chain gang' too. Yeah Livin' On A Chain Gang is my fourth fav song from Slace To The Grind. I would've also loved to hear Midnight/Tornado. Another song I absolutely love is 'Forever' which I think is a very old Skid Row song from '86 or something. It may have originally been recorded with Matt Falon on vocals. Anyone who doesn't own 40 Seasons should get it for that song alone.

  4. I think there may have been one or two more from Thickskin and maybe a few from Subhuman Race as well. RPM didn't get much of a go (thank god for that), in fact 'Disease' is the only song I re-call them playing from it. There was also about 10 minutes of Snake and Scotti Hill guitar wankery in there somewhere. But the turnout at this gig was piss poor. Maybe 200 people at most? Tickets were $80 which is a bit harsh but I did expect a much better turnout. And someone threw a plastic cup on the stage and Solinger just goes "nice shot mate". Sebastian would've stamped his feet and stormed out like a little girl if that was him. Supports were Pegazus and ? a band called Ink.
  5. Skid Row was pretty awesome. Set list went something like this, in terms of songs but the order I can't remember (I was pretty drunk). Big Guns Thick Is The Skin 18 And Life Piece Of Me Makin' A Mess Monkey Business Ghost Riot Act Sweet Little Sister Get The Fuck Out Disease Psycho Therapy I Remember You Slave To The Grind Youth Gone Wild
  6. 1993, but you only need to go back one year, my good man. 2008 - 'Any Other Day' and 'The Last Night'. Yeah I think people are way too harsh on recent Bon Jovi. They've had plenty of great tunes on their more recent albums. Especially on Have A Nice Day and Lost Highway, both quite good albums IMO. When you say 'quite good', you mean in a bargain-bin novelty-value-only kinda way? Neither album was horrible, but neither had any killer songs or big hooks or anything to warrant them being played more than once or twice IMO. No I have to disagree with you. Both of those albums I mentioned have had many repeated listens in my player. When I say 'quite good' I guess I mean, good enough to stay in my CD collection and both have at least 4-5 great songs. IMO.

  8. Futures In Black And White are a Modern Rock band from Sydney, Australia and formed in 2008. They are still unsigned and recently released their debut EP. A very cool band with a lot of potential and hopefuly we will be hearing more from them. Check them out on MySpace
  9. I saw Blessed By A Broken Heart last week - pretty good show but full of EMO kids. One of their support acts - Mourning Tide were good as well. Also going to see Skid Row this Friday night. Really hoping they play a lot of early Skid Row stuff from S/T and STTG but not sure if the Solinger era Skid Row plays of lot of the Bach era stuff??? I wasn't a big fan of RPM though Tickskin was pretty awesome in parts. Also 1927 seem to be announcing a lot of shows at bigger and bigger venues. They seem be extremely popular at the moment and selling out all their shows with really positive reviews. A comeback album would be awesome. I know Eric Weideman has a new solo song out which I posted in the Aussie artists video clips topic.
  10. I purchased my copy from Deep Shag Records. I don't know a lot about this band but the two samples on the DSR website are cool. In fact ther's are pretty good biography on that link as well. I'm looking forward to receiving this one. I also ordered Stress - 'Killing Night And Day' from them which sound cool as well. Stress CD @ DSR
  11. I don't mind it, gives it a modern look, there are many far worse album covers coming out these days.
  12. Or this one .. That was horrible!
  13. Yeah I think he may be suited better to his solo stuff than to the L.A. Guns
  14. Marty Casey MySpace Marty Casey Facebook This guy was the runner-up on Rockstar INXS and lead singer for L.A. Guns since June 2008. Also in a band called the Lovehammers. Has some pretty good songs. Check it out.
  15. I've just come across this website where you can but the Renaissance releases from as well as lots of other classic rock re-issues. It seems all CD's sell for $12.98 each. There's lots of great titles but I'm a bit nervous about buying as I've heard that many of the older re-issues on this label are poor. I have no way of knowing which are the old poor quality re-issues and which are the new ones. Most of the Renaissance stuff I have are all pretty good and definitely no worse than some re-issue labels (that shall remain nameless) that are releasing stuff at the moment. A few odd ones that weren't great (The Charlie stuff for example), but otherwise, perfectly acceptable to my ears and definitely better than nothing at all. Renaissance have an ebay store which I found is the best place to get there stuff from. Do you know if the City Boy re-issues are any good?

  17. Looking forward to this. If it's a Walmart exclusive, does that mean I won't be able to get it here in Australia. Do on-line retailers like NEH and AOR Heaven stock Walmart exclusives??
  18. Eric Weideman (1927) - Home This is a new one from the 1927 singer. A modern sounding song, not too bad.
  19. The Screaming Jets & The Poor Sat 21st Nov @ The Coolangatta Hotel. Not sure what other dates they're doing?
  20. Ace Frehley Aussie Tour 2009 Monday 19th Melbourne. Palace (formerly Metro) Tuesday 20th Sydney. Enmore Theatre Wednesday 21th Brisbane. The Tivoli Tickets on sale Friday 25th September 9AM
  21. love their two radio hits - 'sex is on fire' and the other one i can't remember the name of. gave one of their albums a listen and for the most part i think they suck. not my style at all (appart from those 2 radio hits).
  22. Mike Tramp and Oliver Steffensen, songs they put together before Freak of Nature. Apparantly Oliver Steffensen released this as an album at some point under the name "Mike and Oliver-Brothers For Life". But according to this link, the album is unreleased. So the songs to be pre- Freak of Nature, must have been written/recorded pre- 1991 and Oliver planned to release them on an album in 1995-1997 but for whatever reason this never happened. Just guessing though.
  23. That would have set you back some $'s but there's certainly some very nice stuff there.
  24. Silver pressed. Looks great, a nice package.
