Naturally I don't know nothin' about crumpets, are they available as a side order with a bucket of chicken? No limey stuff in my double-wide thank you very much. Bubbasmama
What the heck IS a crumpet, anyway?
Nick C
My butler Throgmorton asked the cook downstairs Mr's Trubshaw and came up with this description. An English crumpet is a cake made from flour or potato and yeast eaten mainly in the United Kingdom, but also in the nations of the Commonwealth. In Scotland the term is used for a large thin teacake, made from the same ingredients as a "Scotch pancake". The term dates back to 1694 and may refer to a crumpled or curled-up cake, or have Celtic origins relating to the.Breton krampoez meaning a "thin, flat cake" and the Welsh crempog, a type of pancake. Actually it's from Wkipedia. I'm not at home so I can't post a picture. ALSO It's used in slang (but years ago in say the 60's / 70's not really used as much these days), for a good looking member of the female gender. I.E. "Corrrr Lummeee. She's a decent bit o' crumpet!!!"

Geoff
Crumpets are actually pretty nice. Best enjoyed with butter and honey. Jam also goes well and some apply Vegemite. They're pretty big in Australia too. I headed the Official Crumpet Lovers Fanclub a couple of years back. Now I'm just lying... but they're nice. Geoff
A lot of people eat bacon along with eggs, at the same time. My clocks tell me I'm handsome from time to time, but that's about all I ever hear out of them.

JustJason
Watch it. The mere mention of porn can make this thread interesting. That would undo everything we have done here.
