New Smilies!

Thought so. Thanks to Jay for the explanation but there's also another way to do it. Lisa used to post some cool smilies too. All I did was save the address locations on an email and whenever I wanted to use them I just quickly copied and pasted from the email. Eg, just save this address somewhere -

And then whenever you need it just pluck it from that place. Jay's way is probably easier, lol, but that's another option for ya. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/detelliotstbler/Smilies/quagmire.gif' alt='quagmire.gif'>

Oh, and on subject - we're just getting the new series of 'Family Guy' on TV here and they aired the episode last night where Quagmeyer found out about internet porn.'d very hard at it.

One more that springs to mind - how about a shrug? One of the little yellow fellas shrugging would be good for those many occasions when folk on here agree to disagree. Apologies if I've missed it somewhere on the site.

I hope this one works. I don't know how to get the background (white) out of that so it's JUST the smiley. Also, the size might be a smidge off. But, I'm headed out and just fixed it how I could in the little time I had left. Maybe someone who is better technologized than I and knows how to mess with that stuff could clean it up if that doesn't work for you. If anyone wants the original size file (if I messed this one up too much to work with), PM me and I'll send that to you as well. (Didn't have much luck finding actual emoticons with keyboards like the type/size on here. I found this larger and had to shrink it down.)

James, take long for what? If you mean to be put up, again, that's up to Dan. As often as we add things, Dan can't go back and change and add. Since he just added a few more, I doubt that more will be added too soon (or all that often).

This place is always available to get them from. If there are a certain few you use often, you might be better off doing what Geoff said; copy and paste the addresses from each of them to an email and send it to yourself. Then, when you need it, open the email, get the addresses, and then click "Keep as new" on your email. Or resend it to yourself. Or save it in your file. However you can keep it accessible.

And I apologize if that wasn't about what you were asking.

No, I meant actually designing them. Or do you take them from a website somewhere?

The other part of that equation is that while some of the smilies posted here are cool, others are... well... craptacular.

So not every proposed smilie is going to pass the "Dan Test".

Oh, as far as design, I have NO clue on how to do that. A few years ago, I found a couple (baneed! and blonde moment) and modified them. My "modified" version was subsequently put to shame by Dan, who knows what to do and created the version you see on the site today.

Most of them are found (and collected) on various passages through internet forums and such. Also, on occasions where I don't already have something, a google search and a little work usually turn something up. (A la the Quagmire and "keyboard" smilies I found the other day.)

(As far as design, I remember years ago reading somewhere how to create them and trying for about 10 minutes until the blood pressure was through the roof and I couldn't be assed to continue and try to figure it out. That's why I like sites that do everything for you and you just have to punch in specifics. Like the demotivator ones. Or the old user bar one.)

I see, good work though, some of these are great.

Was just thinking that I could do with a 'blushing' smiley - e.g. for when I mentioned the lodger finding my special video collection.
