In all fairness, that $230 version has an absolute shit ton of stuff in it:

Limited edition deluxe numbered box set (with magnetic flap) of Metallica (Remastered) includes the album remastered on 180-gram double LP and CD, "Sad But True" picture disc, three live LPs, 14 CDs and six DVDs featuring unreleased content (live shows, rough mixes, demos, etc), MP3 download card of all audio, four tour laminates, lanyard, three lithos, three guitar picks, lyric folder and sheets, and a 120-page hardcover book with never-before-seen photos + stories from those who were there.

If it were Blu-Ray instead of low-res DVD for the video content, I'd actually consider it.

The Weezer version of Enter Sandman on the tribute album rocks!

I am never buying another one of their shit albums again, If I want to hear this album I just have to turn on a radio, I got the 3 Discs I like and they are posers, and top 40 fags, I got no respect for them, and I wish theyd just go the fuck away,

I settled for the 3 CD release

That is a lot in that box, sounds like a grip of live show and rando stuff that is of no importance to me. You'd think limiting the run and getting the band to sign a 1 sheet would be cooler than the laminates but?

AND this particular record is right up there with Load or Reload or that Lou Reed record or St Anger as being pure garbo.

Why not do a Kill Em All or Ride mega box set? Oh cuz song copyright, makes sense don't want to give more $ to Mustaine, Burton or Diamond Head.

Sorry but I will pass and agree with DP, cant imagine you'd even open it let alone listen to the stuff.

For what it's worth, they probably did the best cover disc in history, I still jam Garage Days all the time, it really fucking rocks, it's about the only disc left people havent absolutely made me fucking loathe

It's #9 in the USA on Billboard Top 200

Metallica put out some really good music right up to and including the Black album in 1991 but since then the only thing worth listening to has been Garage Inc in 1998 so why are they in the top 200 today? There are many more deserving bands and releases, most of whom can be found on this site who better deserve to be in the top 200 today...Metallica is yesterdays news...

I thought that their last release: Hardwired ...To Self-Destruct was one of their best releases.

They also just released Metallica Blacklist which has 53 artists covering the Black album.
