Here's a not very helpful start.

Loudwire list

Only the Royal Blood likely to make mine. Did really enjoy that one. Each unto their own but somewhat surprised anybody would have two halestorm albums.

By random I assume you mean awesome? If they're not White Widdow's best two albums (by a distance, comfortably) I'll eat my sac tonight. ;)

But yeah, I guess picking 10 albums from the span of 10 years can bring some pretty random results. :)

err Crossfire. like easily their best, but to each their own.

the only one getting near my top 10 is ATN.

Imma get to this.

Just did a search for '201' in my music folers and it turned up 493 albums.

50 a year, one a week.

Probably pretty average numbers compared to others here, but I impressed myself

Now I just need to filter throuugh them and refresh my memory.

Will be a good exercise to refind music I really dug but ended up getting buried.
Probably a couple of compilation MP2 mixes coming my way :)

To each their own, but 'Crossfire's nowhere near those two, for me, personally. Awesome discography - I like all albums. But those first two are clear winners for me.

From memory, I think you'd prefer my next 10 a lot more than my top 10. ;)

Forgot the Confess album but that needs adding and considering .

more to the point ISSA is the 4th best album of the decade lol. wouldn't have made my top 20 this year....which has been a weak year.

Going through my music, and up to 'B'
And I hit what will be my album of the 10's

So will Roxanne and Shiraz Lane and Hot Action Cop

Yes, my furry little Canadian friend, that is correct. It's so close to perfect for me. A bit more balls in the bottom end, with some proper bass and heavier drums, and it would be close to a flawless album. I just love it - from start to finish it's just on a mission and doesn't let up. Makes for a superb album. I'm very comfortable calling it my favourite album of the last decade.

The Issa thing isn't worth going back over. Like I said in the year of it's release, I love it. It's kind of like a Vega album without the inevitable filler for two. A little lighter (barely) and female vocals, but every bit as marvellous as Vega have ever been, and in my lonely opinion at least, just a little bit better. ;)

And spoiler alerts, doods, but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to agree with your top 10's either, lol. It's just the different circles in which we roll.

Well now I'm even more curious to see it. I assume you're going to have some NFO and Cats In Space blemishes in there, but I'll be interested to see the rest.

Well here it is......it's by no means an exact science. I think I'm pretty sure the brackets of 10 are accurate but in those brackets the albums could easily interchange on any given day.

My top 10 is pretty much locked down though.

it's no surprise that this list is dominated by just a few bands as I do truly believe that there have been a few absolute standout bands who have been consistently excellent over the last decade.

So take a bow : HEAT, Work of Art, Degreed, Crazy Lixx, Vega & Eclipse - 6 amazing bands.

My band of the decade though is Night Flight Orchestra. Who would have thought a bunch of death metal dudes could pull off retro early 80s AOR so brilliantly. Pure Genius, and fully deserve THREE albums in the top 10 and those albums were my favourites in their respective year of release. Amazing achievement imo.

So here's the list of the last decade IMHO

1. NFO - Amber Galactic
2. HEAT - Address The Nation
3. Degreed - We Don't Belong
4. Work of Art - In Progress
5. NFO - Sometimes the World Ain't Enough
6. Eclipse - Bleed & Scream
7. Threshold - Legends of the Shire
8. Crazy Lixx - Bad Religion
9. NFO - Internal Affairs
10. Defiants - s/t

11. Boulevard - Luminescence
12. One Desire - s/t
13. Work of Art - Framework
14. Work of Art - Exhibits
15. Vega - Kiss of Life
16. Crashdiet - Generation Wild
17. Defiants - Zukusho
18. HEAT - Tearing Down The Walls
19. Degreed - Dead but not Forgotten
20. Eclipse - Monementum

21. Crazy Lixx - Ruff Justice
22. Vega - Stereo Messiah
23. White Widdow - Crossfire
24. Seven - 7
25. Toby Hitchcock - Mercury Down

    • New album 'Universal Human Desire' out March 31. From Lions Pride Music: Outlasted is a professional rock band hailing from Norway, known for their captivating blend of AOR (Album-Oriented Rock) sound. Formed in 2010 by guitarist Terje Fløyli and keyboard player Odd-Børge Hansen, the band's unique journey began with the exchange of song ideas through traditional mail, rather than the ubiquitous digital communication we now know as email. Despite residing in different cities, Fløyli and Hansen forged a deep musical connection, fostering their shared passion for AOR by burning CDs and sending files back and forth. Gradually, their collaborative efforts materialized into a collection of songs that formed the foundation of their debut album, "Into the Night," which was released in 2016 through Melodic Rock Records. To bring their vision to life, Outlasted enlisted the talents of drummer Rune Bryn and bassist Rickard Johannesson, who contributed to the recording of the album's bed tracks. However, the band's lineup experienced changes, leading to the recruitment of vocalist Glenn Wikran, drummer Rune Erling Pedersen, and bassist Aleksander Schjølberg. The release of "Into the Night" garnered international acclaim, captivating listeners worldwide and receiving high praise from critics. Notably, the music video for their hit single, "Someone Like You," quickly gained viral popularity, spreading like wildfire across the internet. In 2019, Outlasted unveiled their highly anticipated sophomore album, "Waiting for Daybreak." The CD edition, limited to 500 copies, sold out within a mere three months, attesting to the band's growing fanbase. Tragically, shortly after the album's release, their record label underwent a change in ownership. Consequently, the physical copies of "Waiting for Daybreak" became coveted collectors' items. However, the band remained undeterred, navigating these challenges with resilience. Prior to commencing the recording of "Waiting for Daybreak," Outlasted underwent another lineup transformation, bidding farewell to drummer Rune Erling Pedersen and bassist Aleksander Schjølberg. Their vacant spots were filled by drummer Andreas Jentoft and bassist Lasse Ingebrigtsen, both of whom contributed their exceptional skills to the band's subsequent music videos, "Chains of Destiny" and "After All These Years." In 2023, Outlasted inked a significant record deal with Lions Pride Music, solidifying their global reach. Currently, the band is diligently crafting their third studio album, poised for release on March 31, 2025. With their unwavering dedication and unwritten chapters awaiting, Outlasted is set to captivate audiences once again with their irresistible AOR sound, leaving an indelible mark on the rock music landscape. Outlasted is: Glenn Wikran – Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals & Guitars Terje Fløyli – Guitars Odd-Børge Hansen – Keyboards & Backing Vocals Lasse Ingebrigtsen – Bass Andreas Jentoft – Drums 01. Weight Of The World 02. Save Your Love 03. Tonight 04. Lost Without You 05. Afraid Of Love 06. Monkey On My Back 07. We Are One 08. Last Of The Runaways 09. Think Of You 10. Last Time She Cried 11. Fallin’ For You 12. Coming Home
    • Love a bit of Kim. She's done some real quality albums over the years, especially her first 5 or so albums. 'Here Come The Aliens' from 2018 was a real return to form and the 2 latest singles promise a lot for the new album too.
    • Nothing has really stuck with this tbh, so a  solid album without blowing me away.
    • Great album..one of the better MR discs this year
    • A good album and their best in quite a while. 'Don't Wanna Say Goodbye' and 'State Of Emergency' are my picks.
    • It's ok, although a little weak on the original songs if  i'm honest. Of the  6 New England covers, whilst quite well done, they don't improve or add anything compared to the fantastic original versions, although  'I'm Not Down', which was meant for the unreleased 4th New England album, is the clear winner on this set.  Not an album that will get played very often, but not a bad effort.
    • Yep...musically very sound, but a little bit too 'preachy' for me.
