From FB:

Sergeant Steel travels to Nashville/Tennessee for the second time. Their third studio album „Riders Of The Worm“ is mixed/mastered by producer legend Michael Wagener.

It contains two high-quality guest contributions. Mark Slaughter from melodic hard rockers Slaughter (5 million records sold worldwide) sings a duett with frontman Phil Vanderkill. Kane Roberts plays a guitar solo in his very own style. He was co-responsible for Alice Cooper’s successful comeback in the eighties.

„Riders Of The Worm“ is released worldwide via the band’s own label Boyz Tyme Records by the end of November.

Sergeant Steel:

Phil Vanderkill (lead vocals)
Jack Power (guitars, b. vocals)
Chuck Boom (guitars, b. vocals)
Ben Bateman (piano, keys)
Ronny Roxx (bass guitar)
Cøsy Cøxx (drums)

"Be what you're intended for to be?" Ugh. Is that supposed to be English? (haha)

Welcum back Kane Roberts! :wub::banger:

?

Kouros says the most random stuff some times, I mean, all the time, and it's hilarious. I enjoy his posts.

    • As it is released now... Overall I really like like. Even if you'll hate me for this, I think I prefer their new stuff over their 80's hits. There's not a single song I don't like on this album just some little details. In the past they used to have more backing vocals. This time they often concentrate on "Aaaw"s. That makes some of rhe hooklines a bit smaller than they are. Here and there I feel the vocals are too loud in the mix. Especially in the last song. Next to the singles, "Speed of Darkness", "Live by Fire", "In my hands", "automatic survival" and "Waiting is the way" are really great in my ears
    • I think it's still a good album but it doesn't feel complete to me. Having 13 songs on "Nothing but wild" or 9 songs and a cover is a difference... There's one ballad but more of a country ballad. I loved their power ballads and I miss one one this album. I also miss the heavier side. Even the heavy songs on this album are quite soft...
    • I don't mind any of the three tracks, to be fair. The new single is the best of the bunch, imo, but for me it's missing an obvious hook. The chorus part just seems to happen, and happens, but doesn't leave something to chew on. The cover is tacky, but is what it is. First song still 50/50, but overall it's all serviceable. If there's an album due I hope it's more than "serviceable" but I find myself just happy to hear new music from them.
    • Spun this the other day, knowing nothing about them. I came away quite impressed. A few nice cuts like 'Rodeo,' 'Not sorry,' 'Jackhammer' and 'Not afraid.' As for what it is, it's just hard rock to me. I guess slightly modern, but I find it wild that something like this would need further clarification that just hard rock.
    • I've enjoyed a few recent releases from these guys but gotta admit I was a bit underwhelmed by this. 'Attracted To Danger' was my favourite track but for me it falls short of at least the album two releases back. I think the last one was a bit lukewarm for me too. Okay for what it is.
    • Haha, I have actually used that one a bit, cob. You think it makes a big difference? Always so hard to tell which prompts land and which don't when you use 10 or so prompts. But I'll be sure to keep that one up front, though. And play with it tonight.  I used the "big production" one again last night and songs were definitely crisper than the night before when a lot of my results were very "treble-y" for lack of a better term. So big production and big drums up high in the mix tonight.  Anyway, peaks and troughs. I'm going through a passage where I'm penning a whole bunch of new tracks. I do a lot of driving, but also a quite a bit of walking for my job, and I've got in the habit of jotting stuff down in my Notes app whenever something comes to me as I walk around, and trying to pump out a few new tunes. A few by-the-numbers melodic rock tracks mostly, but I got one yesterday and I really loved the outcome. A bit of a more "random" tune, but I'll be cursed if I don't actually quite like how this one came out; https://suno.com/song/885e4b14-3e08-45cf-8e33-d2e1cfd04e42
    • I have to agree sadly.  I've said it before, but Steve's passing showed that Gotthard were basically a Steve Lee backing band.
    • I guess this is a bit of a Gotthard appreciation thread now. Their debut is the best for me (I was lucky enough to own this when it was first released). Followed closely behind by the others mentioned.  Here's three of my favourites from the debut. "Angel" was the first Gotthard song I heard and was blown away by. "Firedance" is a Killer with a Killer guitar solo featuring guest guitarist Vivian Campbell and "Hush" is the first in their long line of great cover tracks.
    • This is the correct answer. With Steve, I assume, is what you mean.
    • Domino Effect, Lipservice, and Need to Believe were the last with Steve, and are all quite different. G. is my favourite album of theirs. The debut and Dial Hard are pretty much the exact same sound, but I could only pick one, because they asked for five suggestions. ;}
