Nah,I dont own anything after "back for the attack" as I never really liked em and sold them off,the only other dokken cd I liked was he "up from the ashes" solo venture although "lightning strikes" wasnt too bad imho

My favorite band; I've actually done several CD-R compilations for Dokken, and I usually wind up dividing them up into "Lynch" and "post Lynch". I find discussing their post-Lynch output more interesting, so here's one I may actually throw together later today :-)

For me it's an EP at best, sadly. I included 'Voice of the soul' and 'Change the world' in my list as they are on par with the best of Dokken's entire discography. Add to that 'Erase the slate' and 'Mary goes round' and you have the only songs I remember from all post-Lynch CDs, despite the fact I own and even like all albums since (well, I don't really like the new one at all). They're all "okay" but I'll be cursed if any of those songs stand out after the 'Erase the slate' CD.

Why on earth is 'Change the world' missing from your list? Seriously.

It's a good song, but for whatever reason, it's never been one that's stood out for me.

I'm kinda surprised that tracks like "Little Girl" and "Only Heaven Knows" aren't on your list Geoff. They're as catchy and melodic as much of their prior output. :-)

*I think I'll do a Lynch compilation too for shits and giggles, as mine will probably be quite a bit different from most.

I felt the Japanese Best of Dokken disc did a credible job of showcasing the band. I started with that compilation, tweaked it slightly, added 2 songs and never really waded into the newer Dokken era too much.

Its cliched as hell.

For me its one of the weaker tracks on that album.

Nope, sorry - I just don't hear it. I didn't think it was a particularly strong song to begin with, then I heard the version on 'Beast From The East', which is weaker than Superman in a Kryptonite suit. But, then, of course, my list includes 'Don't Close Your Eyes', which I don't think anyone else here has gone for, so clearly I'm in a minority

Opinions will differ, of course. I like the song, but following this debate, I've been listening to it and I'm willing to admit that maybe it was too high in my list. It would still make the compilation, but might be nudged just outside the top ten.

To be honest, I'm far more shocked that you don't have 'Night By Night' or 'Unchain The Night' in your list! Heathen!
