PLAYED OUT...

There are certain songs that are over-played. There are some that are exceptionally bad. But sometimes, when ill-fortune and lack of talent combine, a song can be over-played AND exceptionally bad. Here is a short list of those songs which I hope never to hear ever, ever again.

Ever.

We Built This City (crap on a stick)

If You Leave Me Now (eat the stick, crap it out, and put it on another stick)

Come On Eileen (possibly the most offensive title to make the top 40)

We Didn't Start the Fire (but we wish we had so we could toss every copy of this song into it)

You could disagree. But you would be wrong.

Next?

KISS - ROCK & ROLL ALL NITE (I love KISS & all but I would like to grab FM radio programmers & scream "KISS RECORDED MORE THAN 1 F*CKING SONG, ASSH*LE!!!)

QUIET RIOT - CUM ON FEEL THE NOIZE (same as above)

OZZY OSBOURNE - CRAZY TRAIN (used to really love this song until it got run into the ground on classic rock radio & all sporting events)

POISON - UNSKINNY BOP ( :puke: )

BAHA MEN - WHO LET THE DOGS OUT (did this really win a grammy????)

BOBBY McFERRIN - DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY ( :2up: )

STYX - MR. ROBOTO (horrible! do I need say more?)

SOUNDGARDEN - BLACK HOLE SUN (I like most of their stuff but this song just grates on my last nerve. :yikes: )

Two that come to mind for me right away:

AC/DC - "You Shook Me All Night Long" - great band, it was once a great song but it has become SO overplayed that GOD DAMMIT I never ever want to hear this song again!! Last time I saw AC/DC on the "Ballbreaker" tour they actually opened the set with this one... at first I was like "Gack," but then reasoned "Well, at least they're getting it out of the way early..."

Metallica - "Enter Sandman" -- again, great song when it first came out, nearly twenty years later it's been abso-frickin-lutely run into the ground.

Backed. Especially since it's been taken over by every sports league in America.

I would have gone there if not for Hinder... who haven't got anything off the last CD on the radio, but there were a few tracks from 'Extreme Behaviour'.

Established in 2022 by the visionary frontman Aviroop Basu, the band's inception signaled the emergence of a musical force destined to captivate audiences worldwide. In December 2022, Fire In The Rodeo unveiled their maiden opus, the demo single "Back for More." This inaugural offering showcased their mastery over their chosen genres and provided a tantalizing glimpse into their musical prowess. Building upon the fervor ignited by their debut, the band resounded once again in July 2023 with their second single, "Ready To Fight." With this release, they cemented their status as a rising musical powerhouse, earning fervent accolades from aficionados and critics alike.   Fire In The Rodeo's artistic genesis draws inspiration from the illustrious lineage of Kix, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Ratt, Motley Crue, among other luminaries. Such influences seamlessly intertwine within their compositions, resulting in a harmonious synthesis of sonic excellence. A defining hallmark of their artistry lies in their reverence for the 80s era of rock 'n' roll—a golden age that continues to resonate deeply within their musical ethos. By infusing modern nuances into this revered soundscape, Fire In The Rodeo conjures a distinctive auditory experience that marries the classic with the contemporary.   Their sonic tapestry is woven with roaring anthemic guitars, percussive rhythms that reverberate through the soul, and guitar riffs that scorch with undeniable intensity. Aviroop Basu's vocals ascend to extraordinary heights, delivering a high-octane performance that transcends musical boundaries. The band's chorus lines, irresistibly catchy and persistently memorable, have an uncanny ability to embed themselves within the listener's consciousness—a testament to the compositional brilliance they wield.   Amidst their meteoric ascent, Fire In The Rodeo solidified their trajectory by signing a landmark worldwide deal with the esteemed record label Lions Pride Music in 2023. This milestone paves the way for the much-anticipated release of their debut album in February 2025—an event that promises to redefine the contemporary rock landscape. As the journey of Fire In The Rodeo unfolds, their music serves as a tribute to an era bygone, a testament to the evolution of sound, and a testimony to the enduring allure of rock 'n' roll.

    • I just stumbled across this power trio.... not too bad at all. The vocalist reminds me of a cross between Lex Koritni and Chris Cornell in some tunes. Nice production and good sound.
