Teer - S/T (different band than what is listed on HH, this was released in 1996)

Hey mate, it's the same band (if it's the one I also own), just a hell of a lot weaker and more raw than the s/t album released on Frontiers in 2000. Is it the one with the brown cover?

Yeah, it has a brown cover. Oops, my bad, it is the same band. I actually like the the brown cover one much better, has a much heavier sound to it, but the production could be a little better, it is definitely a lot harder to find than their 2000 release.

Haha... I just remembered how I know it is the same band - because I got it from one of the band members! I was going to reply and say I agree it is impossible to find and I'm not sure how I even got it. But I remember now - it was way back when I was continuously raving about the 2000 release we all know over at melodicrock.com and a few of the band members were actually posters on the noticeboard there. I just got talking to one of the guys (Pretty sure it was Shane French) and he sent me over a copy for free. Pretty much the only time something that cool ever happened to me. :)

In regards to the album, I must admit I was kind of glad I didn't have to pay for it because I wasn't a fan at all. It is heavier for sure, but completely misses all those killer hooks and massive choruses of the 2000 release, imo. :)

OK, now I'm going to have to drag that out and listen to it again. I remember liking it as well, but I just like the heavier, rawer sounding music.

Its a sin it was ever recorded. Bad vocals, bad music, bad production, mad lyrics..... from memory all the songs were about getting it on with the guys 15yo sister?...

And Norah Jones... ack... could it get any more boring?

I don't know what Norah Jones is... isn't that some pop singer or something? Anyway, I bought the Sinn CD from Perris because they compared it to Poison (because the idiot "covers" a Poison song on the CD, I guess) but the CD didn't even compare to 'Hollyweird'. In fact, the only comparison to anything I can find is that it sounds like being murdered.

Norah jones is some jazz singer... who in her boring droning voice can only put you to sleep...

i bought Sinn for 1 buck at Utopia... it was a waste of one buck

As a sidebar to this conversation, John *I think that is his first name* Soren was also in Alyze for their very first recordings, which is the Alyze S/T on Retrospect Records.

From my favorite 2nd hand CD store:

SHY ENGLAND - Misspent Youth (MINT)

VALENTINE - S/T (MINT)

And for the titles that got away because of (sigh) "lack of funds"

ICON - Right Between The Eyes

JULLIET - S/T

PRIDE AND GLORY - S/T

TALL STORIES - S/T

THE ALMIGHTY - Blood, Fire and Love

Though, I enjoyed the Shy England CD, I think (in terms of rarity) I should have gotten the ICON CD. :hammer:
