  1. Been listening to Bobaflex. They seem to have a fascination with death. In many of their songs.
  2. Those were the songs he did with that other guy weren't they? Can't recall who it was. Was never able to get in to them. Average songs for me,and detract from a really great album. it was.
  3. John Wick 2 Even better the second time around
  4. I believe The Angels claim credit for this monster Aussie classic song. But it seems it was not only borrowed, but stolen from a Status Quo B-side. Wonder if the bought the rights, or if there was any legal shit etc? Apparently they created the 'siren' guitar part and sped up the original version of the song a bit to create a point of difference
  5. I don't consider ANY re-release of any album by any band essential. Most of the time I don't consider them at all. At least this one has some cool stuff associated, but unlike most WASP fans, I never saw this as a masterpiece, just a good album.
  6. I think the only songs I've been able to get in to off that album are the first one and the S/T track
  7. lol, they did a few swapsies for a while. He does do a good Peter. Shows how much attention I was paying to the line up...
  8. Was sung by Criss at least. Normally I gravitate towards Paul's songs, like most I guess. Like you I was never able to get in to Sonic Boom either. Not sure why. I think they just ran out of steam. What they always did was what they wanted. Disco songs, alternative stuff, The Elder etc. And while sometimes it missed the mark, it was true. They said that they were trying to recapture the early sound with these. Pretty sure they tried to market one of them as Love Gun 2 for a while.
  9. This was a great album Seems there was never a follow up...
  10. Isn't this the band who did a song for an ad (filmed in a subway from memory)? If so, that song was great, and I eagerly awaited the album. Then they released the album which was just AC/DC but better (made AC/DC more listenable) and the song that I liked wasn't even on it.
  11. 1 - Slippery When Wet 2 - New Jersey 3 - These Days 4 - Keep The Faith 5 - S/T 6 - 7800° Fahrenheit 7 - Bounce 8 - Have A Nice Day 9 - Crush
  12. Like most here, I'm a massive Kiss fan. Just have never been able to get in to this album though. The only track I really like is the Peter Criss song "All For The Love OF Rock & Roll" That probably speaks volumes.
  13. Looks like Vinnie is creeping out of the darkness and trying to reinvent himself. VVI reunion. Still looks like Joan Jett
  14. Pretty average album. I know very little about the band, but the names involved interested me. Worth having this song though
  15. Like some here, Mr. Big were more a fringe band for me. Happy to hear some catchy tunes, but I never rushed out and bought the CD on the day it was released. For this reason I kind of missed this release as well as Actual Size. Since the release of Defying Gravity I've gone back to check out the stuff I missed.
  16. All I could guess is the most overlooked album of the year Mr Big - Defying Gravity
  17. Fair enough. That's some commitment. The problem I have when listening to new music when I'm working of driving is that I don't really listen to it like I should be. Probably more inclined to listen more when I'm driving on long highways etc My backlog of albums to get to is currently 186. I'm making a concerted effort to get through them, but it's hard work. Enjoyable, but I've needed to be tunnel visioned about it.
  18. So a question. I was just looking through 2016 lists and I see that Dan has over 200 CD's that were on the list, mostly also rans. So this is an age old question for me. How are you able to properly assess a CD every 2 days? How many times do you listen to each? Given that they are also rans, it indicates that they were given a fair go and assessed. And then, what do you do with the music from 200 CD's in one year? Do you select the songs you really like for future enjoyment? Or do you just listen, say "that was reasonably good" and then file the CD and never pull it again? This year I bought maybe 20 albums, based on samples I heard. Now I have a shitload of stuff I do every day and don't have a lot of time. I know 20 would be way on the light side here, but over 200? That's a lot of music in one year...
  19. New song. Ima gonna have to listen a few more times before I decide how much I like it. Got a bit of an Anthraxy feel to it. I do like the change around half way through...
  20. I always preferred Tom Keiffer (and Mark Slaughter) when they sing in their lower registers Heartbreak Station is easily my favorite Cinderella album Also thought Big Game was a great follow up. Contains my fav WL song - Goin' Home Tonight. Also Little Fighter, Radar Love (probably one of the best covers ever), Don't Say It's Over, Broken Home, Livin' On The Edge etc
  21. Well here's my personal Wig Wam greatest hits mix 01 Hard To Be A Rock'N Roller 02 Bless The Night 03 I Turn To You 04 Out Of Time 05 Mine All Mine 06 Crazy Things 07 Slave To Your Love 08 Gonna Get You Someday 09 Bygone Zone 10 Daredevil Heat 11 Kill My Rock 'N Roll 12 At The End Of The Day 13 A Rock 'N Roll Girl Like You 14 Flying High 15 Do Ya Wanna Taste It 16 Wild One 17 C'mon Everybody 18 Man In The Moon 19 Rocket Through My Heart 20 Chasing Rainbows 21 Wall Street 22 OMG! (Wish I Had A Gun) 23 Tides Will Turn 24 Wrong Can Feel So Right 25 Natural High 26 School's Out
  22. I think Wig Wamania would come in at #4 for me Having said that, when I made my greatest hits folder, it had more songs than the others Hard To Be A R'N'Rer - 6 Wig Wamania - 7 Non Stop R'N'R - 6 Wall Street - 6 Thing is, the songs on Wig Wamania are weaker over all than on other CD's. Not as many really great songs as the others, but still really goo songs.
