  1. Simply. For me it was blander. Like I said before, I compare to ACDC. We went from amazing individual songs to recent albums where the music wasn't bad, just nothing that stands out. Of like all the ACDC type bands around. I love Dangerous Toys, and I excitedly bought the Broken Teeth album when it came out. Damn disappointing, because it was boring. Maybe I would have liked Monumentum more if they had more varied material on it. I get what you're saying about not being that different from past releases, but that stuff to me was hookier and a bit more varied. I see Million Miles Away as x3 any song on Monumentum.
  2. Surprised there wasn't a thread for this band from Greece. Singer is comparable to Joey Tempest quite often. I presume most people here are already familiar with them, for those who aren't...... Outloud is a Hard Rock band from Greece, featuring some well established Greek metal musicians. In August 2009, the band released its first full-length album entitled We'll Rock You To Hell and Back Again under music label Frontiers Records.[1] In 2011 the band signed with AOR Heaven and released its second album entitled Love Catastrophe[2] followed by an EP called More Catastrophe[3] in 2012. In 2013 the band announced the recording of a new album and also the replacement of old drummer Mark Cross by George Kollias drummer of Nile.[4] Pretty decent cover
  3. Because I was bored and there was nothing of interest to post in of recent times. Why are you opening an old ass 2009 thread if you have no interest?
  4. OK< I probably shouldn't have said 'filler' To me they are just generic songs. Nothing spectacular, nothing I haven't heard before, and (for me) lacking that 'it' factor When I add them to my best of folder, only 2 or 3 songs will make it. I know my comment would not be popular, but different strokes.... I can see how others here like it. I don't dislike it per se'
  5. Classic Albums - Hysteria Gives a great insight into the creation of the songs, swapping producers, and all the behind the scenes drama and delays
  6. Artifact - about 30 Seconds To Mars battle with record company Amazing stuff "This was a very real lawsuit. It wasn't just a headline," Leto tells Rolling Stone. "We had a very real possibility of owing a corporation 30 million dollars, of having our music and our album tied up in the courts and never seeing the light of day and our careers an our dreams shattered." As the band begins to shoot a documentary on the making of their third album, they discover they are being sued by their label for $30 million dollars for breach of contract, and turned the cameras on that battle instead, eventually naming the album This Is War. Artifact premiered in 2012 at the Toronto Film Festival, where it won the People's Choice Award for Documentary.
  7. This was a really great album. Worth checking out if you haven't
  8. South Bay Cities always reminded me of the Sesame Street theme song for some reason. But I love this album. Probably their best. I'm a pretty big GW fan. They seems to be always able to release catchy tunes. I always really like 6 to 8 songs of each album. Even with different singer they did pretty well. Prefer them today to JR GW
  9. The problem with this album was that it is missing all of their best songs And their best singer...
  10. Yep, and like I said, I've tried pretty hard to really like it. Just nothing stands out for me. In a way, the same as how ACDC can no longer make any music that grabs me. I guess you could say that I see Monumentum as pretty much all filler...
  11. There ya go Electric Boys version kicks its ass
  12. So I tried this album numerous times. First time I assumed it would be a grower. Second time I became a bit worried that no songs were really grabbing me. Subsequent listens allowed Downfall Of Eden and Hurt to become the better songs of the album. Only other one that is making an impact after yet more listens is Night Comes Crawling Jaded tries to work its way into my head but never really makes it. For me this has turned in to a really disappointing release. Not trying to make a case for it being average, but to me it is. I MUCH prefer the earlier albums
  13. Dancing On My Own has been around for a while now, and is a great song. It's a cover I think. Wouldn't mind the other 4 bonus tracks, but ima not gonna be double paying for music any more. Hopefully they're on the next album
  14. This latest release was their best easily for me. 1. Starflight United 2. And Them Boys Done Swang 3. Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride 4. Groovus Maximus 5. Freewheelin'
  15. Not sure how or when I ended up with this album, but I gave it a spin. I think I may have lumped this in with Johnny Lima or Jamie Allen because they all start with J Anyway, it certainly isn't close to those releases. Musically it's ok/good, but the vocals kill it. What a terrible voice for a singer. People probably said the same about Stephen Pearcy, Lemmy and Axl etc but for me this is a bridge too far.
  16. Cool. I'm here to hear new music, and I get a lot of new music from here. Like Christmas, it's also nice to give, and it's not often that I find a band that is new to most people here.
  17. Thanks Not sure how I came across Swagger. Been sitting around for years until I finally got to it
  18. Bump. You people are missing out. Just someone say "yeah it was OK I guess" and I'll let it go. Either that of Geoff can come in, listen to a few seconds from a couple of songs and say "that was dog shit rubbish" Then I'll be happier...
  19. Had a couple of albums in the early 90's Spilt Milk and Bellybutton Pretty much a blend of Beatles/Cheap Trick/Beach Boys. One of my go to bands for some harmless easy listening music
  20. This is the only album I have by this band. I really need to check out some more cause I love this one....
  21. I think they stayed relevant to their older fans. Kind of more easy listening. Rather than take the risk, and be more cutting edge. Also, they all got pretty rich, so it really became about perpetuating sales and income without any concern for where the next meal was coming from. Maybe Alec John Such was more important than we all thought?... lol
