  1. Electric Boys. Listening to some of their stuff I've overlooked and also the most recent album.
  2. Heaven's Basement - Filthy Empire. Sadly the only disc from this band who broke up early last year. Giving the album some proper spins (been overlooked for a while)
  3. That's a pretty good call. Looking forward to Ant Man 2
  4. Not bad but I can't do the vocals. Reminds me of Vinnie Vincent Invasion which I couldn't do either. Nice musically though.
  5. Very cool song. Sadly most of the time we only hear part 1 on the radio etc, although lately the other parts a bit more.
  6. s s s s s s samaaaaantha lol, I admit I like the Village People. Catchy stuff, and I'm probably one of the few here who owns the movie DVD
  7. Sabrina. Beeeeewbs Nipple comes fully out at the end
  8. I dunno, for me Elton was probably a highlight. It was kind of like a Blazing Saddles type movie. Pretty stupid if you're looking at plot etc, so why not add to that with a bit of fun. I gave up enjoying the story pretty quickly. All the cool ideas were in the first one. The second one was just a rehash.
  9. National Lampoons Vacation. Hadn't seen this in ages and while not as funny as I remember, still held up well. We're working our way through them all. Only one I haven;t seen is the Vegas one so Ima lookin' forward to that one
  10. Yeah, I'll work my way through their discography. Apparently they had 8 singles off this one, so it's a reasonable place to start. Currently getting through Papa Roach discography. They have a few stand out songs which I've liked for a while, but a lot of their stuff isn't really my cup of tea. Not hooky enough.
  11. Someone posted Hate My Life off this in my Hateful Songs thread and I loved it so much I got the album. Not sure how I've missed this band. Probably people laughing at me right now but what a great album!
  12. I got the first 2 EP's and never really got around to listening to them. I see that a song from the first one is on this album. Ima gonna listen to them this weekend and give them a solid go. Happier when these kinds of bands lean towards Buckcherry rather than ACDC.
  13. Don't pigeon hole them, man. They covered more than just Slade... Actually their versions of the Slade songs are killer. Perfect band to cover as the sound had progressed so much since the originals and the QR versions were, as Paul Stanley would say, more bombastic.
  14. From http://ultimateclassicrock.com/quiet-cum-on-feel-the-noize-sabotage/ Frankie Banali has revealed the lengths Quiet Riot went to in the hope of sabotaging their cover of the Slade song "Cum On Feel the Noize," saying that they set out to make the recording an “intentional train wreck.” Even though the 1983 single broke Quiet Riot and led to them becoming the first metal band to reach the top of the Billboard album chart with Metal Health, they didn't want to record the song, and it was only done at the request of producer Spencer Proffer. In 2005, singer Kevin DuBrow – who died in 2007 – told ClassicRockRevisited, “I never loved that song, but by the same token I never thought we were the greatest songwriters in the world. We were gullible and I was an angry guy at the time.” In a new interview with Michael Aubrecht, Banali shared his own memories of the experience. “The producer wanted us to record it," he said. "I didn’t care one way or the other, but Kevin despised the song. Slade were not the type of band I would have listened to. We all came up with the idea that we’d tell the producer we were working on that song, although we never did. The inevitable day came when we actually had to record it, and in theory it was supposed to be an intentional train wreck. We wanted to make it so the producer couldn’t even use it if he wanted to." When they got to the studio, Banali recalled, he "went into the engineering room and told [Proffer] that we hadn’t worked on the song and that we were going to tank it. I said he might want to record it to be funny. He said, ‘Okay.’” Banali remembered starting the song from the wrong place, and leaving out a verse and chorus – but the band’s plan didn’t come to fruition. “Kevin was waiting for it to fall apart, but we just kept playing,” he said. “It’s in my DNA to do the best job I can, so I vamped, and it turned out to work within the song. When we finished, the producer said it sounded great on the first take. The engineer happened to record it, and when we listened back, it worked. Kevin was furious.”
  15. No problems. You're completely missing my point and filtering what I said down to semantics. I am not going to debate the accuracy of how many people know QR. My point was that they covered a lot of songs for their popularity. More songs that I was aware of. Who knows how many they actually wrote themselves. According to my CD, they wrote Slave To Love with 'Bush' The first 3 songs on the album were 'co-written' by 'Profter' Better check out who this was to hear the original songs he recorded with his other band
  16. A couple of my kids have decided to watch The Walking Dead. I'm up to date, but decided to sit in from the start again. Enjoyed it the first time, but much more the second time. If you're a fan I recommend taking the time to relive the first 6 seasons. We're nearly through season 2. Daryl is way funnier than I remembered.
  17. Was looking for Women (Extended) - Def Leppard for the Killer Intros thread and this movie trailed popped up. Haven't seen it, but I watched the trailer and it's kinda sad to see Nic Cage in it lol
