  1. Dallas Buyers Club - surprised me the first time I saw it. Was ok on rewatch. Justice League - was pretty good in this flooded superhero market The Disaster Artist - meh
  2. Just endured this a few times. thought I'd see what the fuss was all about with a new album on the way. Very very average for me. Didn't even like the Zander song. Fall From The Sky and Shout It Out were the only two that showed any promise but they were pretty generic songs - nothing special in them.
  3. Seriously tell me how many times you went and saw Stratton play with Maiden. or Heard Maiden albums with him singing? I know the history, I am aware of him. But it means nothing. Tell me, would you be interested in hearing a Michael O'Neill/Fran Karuba album?
  4. Looking forward to this one. Was delayed release and only came out a few days ago.
  5. lol Iron Men = Ned Kelly? Dennis Stratton means nothing to me, and probably to 99% of people who are Maiden fans. DiAnno was great, his S/T band was great Battlezone was average. This Iron Men thing smacks of a gimmick to cash in to me.
  6. Yeah, I'm only getting to this one now. I had a massive year last year and really didn't have too much time for music, as work required a lot of concentration for the most part. So I've been ploughing through some of last years' (and older) stuff and here's my song by song review FWIW. I'll use a letter system. A = Amazing B = Great C = Good, may make best of mix D = OK, wouldn't make best of mix E = Average F = Crappy United --- C Here Today Gone Tomorrow --- C Gravity --- C Sinking Ship --- A One Of Life's Mysteries --- A No Regrets --- A Bite The Bullet --- B Things I Know --- B The Sky Is Falling --- A Heaven And Earth --- A Indestructible --- C I love this album. It's been reeled back a bit from the more modern edge they had, but still fresh and hooky as hell. Big surprise. Way better than I had hoped. 7 of the 11 will make my best of folder, which is damn good. Maybe one or two more as well. Always hard with albums like this. the tracks I listed as "C" would be B's if they were on an album with a bunch of other filler songs.
  7. Harem Scarem - United Reverse Grip - Hunger For Chaos
  8. Open Your Heart was a nice tune. I'd be interested in hearing new material.
  9. Yeah back to the good old days of the traditional easy to watch fun movie. Different enough from the original to be a different movie to a large degree. I wonder if Robin Williams would have made a cameo if he was still around?
  10. Check out The Belko Experiment if you haven't already. In the same vein as The Purge movies. They're making a sequel for that as well.
  11. Meat Loaf - Hang Cool Teddy Bear Lynam - Slave To The Machine
  12. Not bad. I liked the verses more than the chorus.
  13. I'm tap & go all the way. Pretty much cashless these days. In fact I'm also generally walletless. I have my driver's license and bank card in a slide out section in the back of my phone case. Only time I take my wallet out is to buy stuff on my business account. Won't be long before we all get digital copies of our driver's license and we won't need that any more either.
  14. https://tvweb.com/the-purge-tv-show-cast-gabriel-chavarria-jessica-garza/ The Purge TV series has found its lead actors. Gabriel Chavarria (East Los High) and Jessica Garza (Six) have been tapped as the male and female leads respectively of Blumhouse's upcoming small screen take on their successful horror franchise. The series has been in the works for quite some time, but now with the two leads in place, the series looks to be firmly moving forward. The casting brings with it some of the first story details for this Purge TV series. According to Deadline, Gabriel Chavarria will play a character by the name of a Miguel. He's described as a Marine with a "hard edge and a noble mission." He receives a cryptic letter from his little sister, Penelope, which is where Jessica Garza comes into play. Penelope reportedly belongs to a "Purge-worshiping cult" and has pledged herself as a sacrifice to the cult's leader. Her faith in this cult will be put to the test when she experiences the realities of the annual Purge. As for Miguel, he returns to town on Purge Night, fully prepared to face the violence in the streets in order to protect his family. It now sounds like The Purge TV series will focus much more on the actual annual night of government-sanctioned murder than previously expected. Last October, Blumhouse head Jason Blum talked a bit about what to expect from the show and stated that they plan to explore what happens the rest of the year when people aren't legally allowed to commit crime for 12-hours. Here's what he had to say while speaking with Den of Geek. "We're working on kind of exploring what it's like to live the rest of the year in a world where you can kill someone on a certain day of the year. It definitely makes you think twice if you're driving and you give someone the finger or something like that. So we're definitely thinking about different things that might happen in a society where killing was legal 12 hours a year. There are a lot of things that you don't think about. You could commit a murder, and then somehow make it seem like it happened on Purge Night and get away with it. There are a lot of things that you can do with that idea, and we're trying to think of all those different situations in that world." As for when we can expect to see The Purge on the small screen? According to this new report, Blumhouse, SyFy and USA hope to have the series ready to debut alongside the upcoming prequel and latest installment in the movie franchise, The First Purge. That movie is set to arrive on July 4, so we could be just a few months away from seeing the first episode of The Purge TV series. Franchise creator James DeMonaco created the Purge series and will oversee the show. DeMonaco's longtime producing partner Sebastien K. Lemercier, who has worked on The Purge movies as well, will executive produce the show. We'll be sure to keep you up to date as more information on the series is made available. This news comes to us courtesy of Deadline.
  15. Yeah, now I think about it the gay rights talk started because of him. Because he hit on me
  16. So movie then series or series then movie? Seen the story before (a few times) but it looks pretty funny still
  17. This album was ok for me. Live Forever Cryin' Turns To Rain Fade Away Red Flags were the songs that made the album ok overall, because they are great songs. The rest was pretty much filler for me.
  18. Interstellar. Watch with my wife and kid who hadn't seen it before. They felt like I did when I first saw it - a bit confused and not sure about it, but over time I've learnt to really like the movie.
  19. I refuse to answer on the grounds that in today's society I will be shunned for making a joke at the expense of the champion gay people out there Interesting side effect of the who gay marriage thing that recently became legal in my country. The cause is pretty much over. Weird that in one small change to the law, everything changed. No more protests, no more demands for equality. No more persecution. Everything kind of just stopped. And society remained exactly the same...
  20. I agree with the production comments. Didn't suck, but could have been better. Perfect example of this is the Gun phone number album, where apparently the demos sounded more like the tradition songs until some INXS dude got to them and killed them and the band.
