  1. What do the numbers for the album title even mean?
  2. This is actually a very good song. I don't care much for Black Hole Star, but the other two songs posted here are great. It's not Europe. Expect anything too much like that and you'll be disappointed. Forget who it is and listen to it for the music. Other great songs are
  3. So I'm a latecomer to this band. Love Swagger, and the first 2 are good, but then I made a huge mistake in picking up the next album, which is a phone number or whatever. I believe that this was the last album before they split and then reformed. Is anything after they reformed worth bothering with? Shame that the INXS dude killed off the good music with the phone number album...
  4. I like heaps of different stuff. Happy to admit to any of it ABBA, Wham, Hi-5 (the early years), 10CC etc Don't like much rap. open to C&W but don't have much
  5. It's not about this album. If you ask a group of people who aren't RS fans to name three RS songs, they would struggle. You'd get Jessie's Girl Maybe I've Done Everything for You Maybe Affair Of The Heart or Don't Talk To Strangers
  6. Welcome Kelley. I remember hearing (something) about this band ages ago. I started listening to the first track, and I have to agree with others about the vocals. A bit too weird for me, kinda like Airbourne for me.
  7. He had a few hits. But the title is fair. He will always be seen that way. Rock Of Life was never going to get the credit it deserved, much like Pseudo Echo's Race, because they deviated from what the core fans expected which was rock pop.
  8. Just hang on for the new Tim Gaines solo staff and speak highly of it and tag Michael
  9. Well thank fuck this wasn't a school shooting post. I've abandoned Facebook for now because of all the people caring (for the moment). I'll go back when a bit more time has gone by and they no longer are worried about the guns thing. Oh, and that song definitely wasn't for me.
  10. When you have to defend your music because it is being widely criticised, that says 2 things. 1. People don't like it and you probably should listen to that 2. That you aren't confident in your music and need to 'stick up' for it Release the CD, if people hate it, it becomes The Elder, or Carnival of Souls, or VHIII, etc You then move on to either continue with your passion that everyone hates, or you go back to what everyone wants and make some $$$
  11. From those Lizzy Bordens is my preferred song. Love Pop Evil but that's a fairly ordinary song from them. The first one I think I like the album cover much more than the song
  12. No doubt they have a great live show, that in and will be enduring. I've been fairly critical of them, and still am to a degree. But recently I've given All You Can Eat a second try with better results. I think enough time has gone by for me to be ready for some of the smutty songs again - at least one albums worth.
  13. Yeah, but I accept that it's a bit different in getting all the way over here. Online tickets were $69 or 4 for $220. Didn't get them as I was waiting for my kids to decide if they wanted to go and they bailed at the last minute. The venue was only half full, which was surprising. Maybe ticket cost had something to do with that. Also it was a Thursday night. You'd think that given the show hadn't sold very well and that the venue was smack bang in the middle of the city they'd try and drag people in with cheap tix., I looked up their set lists and they don't change really much at all, and they never seem to play longer than an hour. Regardless, I'm happy to pay, but you just want value for money. No reason they couldn't play a few more songs. Have Robbie Williams next week. Normally his shows sell out pretty fast, but this is at a winery and also on a Thurs night so tix still available. They are $130. Touring bands ain't cheap in Australia....
  14. Saw Saliva last night in Melbourne. Great show - recommend it to anyone in a state they are yet to get to over the next few days. $80 on the door was a bit steep, particularly as they played for only an hour. Also, there was a genuine call for an encore which was ignored. These days all encores are pretty much planned, with the best songs being saved for them. Everyone expects the m to come back out so there is not chant or anything. Last night they played their 2 biggest hits last, everyone knew that was the end, but they wanted more, and chanted for more. A genuine call for more music and it didn't happen which was sad. But still it was a good show. I even got in the mosh pit for a while
  15. Never was a huge UKJ fan, but always dug the radio songs. Having a listen to this one now and Geoff is right - very Foo Fighters, which I don't mind at all. I liken it to the awesome FF album Sonic Highways. First time I head the new UKJ, I kinda skipped thought it and thought 'meh', but listening to is flow through is very different and it's a pretty cool album.
  16. I'm not stroking myself over this album like others are. I find that the songs are all good, but not much stands out. Pretty generic. Can't Wait For The Night is probably the stand out
  17. Finally got to this one. Not a big fan of the Simmons, Simmons and even the Corabi tracks. The ones I liked were... Dirty Girl - (Nelson brothers could have sung this one) Final Mile - (vocals are kind of quirky, but I got used to them) And I know - ( I bet this was written with Ace in mind) Life - (weird song, but nice enough)
  18. There's nowhere else to go anyway...
  19. I was actually wondering how he was able to re involve himself in an album he made before his rediscovery of christianity or whatever....
  20. I've given this more than a few spins now, and it's OK. Anyone who liked the early BAD albums won't be disappointed. Amazed at how this sounds so much like the early stuff, while also sounding current. As for the songs, the good ones are One Million Miles Tears Last Time For Love Saturday Night The rest is pretty average for me> Look forward to another solo effort from Derek.
  21. Lady Bird Because.... my wife. Even she didn't really like it. It leads me to the realisation that movies are generally split in to 2 types at the moment Superhero movies Arty/weird/boring movies
