As I mentioned in the movies thread I've been watching Blue Mountain State> This is the theme song

Blue Mountain State - Rise Of Thadland. I haven't seen this yet, but i am looking forward to it. Someone mentioned Blue Mountain State (TV Series) earlier in the tread and I'm in to season 2 now. Amazing series. Any fans of Porky's, American Pie, Road Trip etc will love it. Surprised they get away with a lot of it, such as "oil changes" - inserting a tube and injecting 'clean' urine into their bladders to pass drug tests. Anyway, once I get through the series I'll do the movie.

My kids hadn't seen The Purge, and it was mentioned in the latest Superstore which reminded me episode so I whacked it on. Best bit was that at the end they said "it's now 7am March 22 and the Purge is over" Which means that The Purge starts at 7pm March 21. Right now, where I am, it's 12:07pm. Under 7 hours until my Purge

Any word on new music? Last I saw was a post on their Facebook saying that it's a hard road, but they aren't breaking up, but needed to be really careful with their nest step. Great band, would be a shame if they only had the 2 albums...

Yeah, I agree with this. There were some awesome tracks from ST - Gotten, I Hold On, Starlight, Standing In The Sun From Apocalyptic Love there were only a handful that I took to - Standing In The Sun, No More Heroes Which is why I took so long to bother too much with this after I picked it up. But I have to say that some songs are pretty damn good after a few spins. Kennedy's voice annoys me at times due to lack of variation in his tone. It gets a bit whiny for me... Yep, 17 songs? WTH? And this is why there hasn't been a release in 4 years I guess. Kinda silly perhaps he originally wanted to do a Use Your Illusion thing and it was knocked back? I would have liked this split in to 2 albums with some different stuff blended in. Maybe a few covers, an acoustic version of a song etc

I love that song but had never seen the clip before. A great example where a video can take a song to a different place and a different level.

Average release this one. For me Let's Rock N Roll had 3 great songs Sings - 7 great tracks Battles was a bit of a disappointment Only songs I really cared for were Rich N Famous Lying To Yourself Let It Go Karma Wonder if this album was a career killer. Been 4 years

Pop Evil - Pop Evil (2018)

Just saw Game Night. Was a pretty decent movie. Funny enough without being overly slapstick.

This release is much like the last one. Their music seems to be inline with the band maturing. Won't be for everyone, but I like it. It's on the contemporary adult laid back rock side.

So I started listening to True Sound Of The Underground and I started hoping that I'd get used to the singers voice, but to me he was singing in a range I really don't like. I perpetuated though and worked through a couple more songs wondering why he didn't vary his voice much. I think everyone here would know why that is. A bit of Google helped me see that the female on the cover wasn't a bassist or drummer as I suspected, but the singer. Knowing this, I listened some more and it still doesn't really sound like a female voice to me. Every now and then I hear a glimmer of female vocals, but for the most part she sings so 'full on' all the time that it detracts from the music. Ima passing on this band.

Charm City Devils - Sin

I've still got the 7" vinyl of the original song before they changed it for the album release. I'm sure there's a story behind why they changed it, but I don't know what it is. Weird that they went to the trouble of releasing the first version - video and all, only to change it for the album. Personally I like the first version better

So I've given this a fair go. I am not a huge JSS fan. I tend to find much of his stuff a bit bland and boring. But I listened to this without bias and it's not a bad album. Paranoia Unblame Forgotten Time ... are all really good songs Weight Of The World My Darkest Hour .... are pretty good songs Awakened ... is a weird song. I wish is started at 3:30 and moved from there

I put out an old unreleased demo of a song called "Time", and right now I'm doing a very "free" version of an old song called "God’s Gift To Woman".
