  1. This release is much like the last one. Their music seems to be inline with the band maturing. Won't be for everyone, but I like it. It's on the contemporary adult laid back rock side.
  2. So I started listening to True Sound Of The Underground and I started hoping that I'd get used to the singers voice, but to me he was singing in a range I really don't like. I perpetuated though and worked through a couple more songs wondering why he didn't vary his voice much. I think everyone here would know why that is. A bit of Google helped me see that the female on the cover wasn't a bassist or drummer as I suspected, but the singer. Knowing this, I listened some more and it still doesn't really sound like a female voice to me. Every now and then I hear a glimmer of female vocals, but for the most part she sings so 'full on' all the time that it detracts from the music. Ima passing on this band.
  3. I've still got the 7" vinyl of the original song before they changed it for the album release. I'm sure there's a story behind why they changed it, but I don't know what it is. Weird that they went to the trouble of releasing the first version - video and all, only to change it for the album. Personally I like the first version better
  4. So I've given this a fair go. I am not a huge JSS fan. I tend to find much of his stuff a bit bland and boring. But I listened to this without bias and it's not a bad album. Paranoia Unblame Forgotten Time ... are all really good songs Weight Of The World My Darkest Hour .... are pretty good songs Awakened ... is a weird song. I wish is started at 3:30 and moved from there
  5. Yeah from that article... "I'm trying to get a following on Facebook now, through the "Amaze Me Band". And, I've started to make parts of old songs like "You Say You Never Cry" available. I put out an old unreleased demo of a song called "Time", and right now I'm doing a very "free" version of an old song called "God’s Gift To Woman". I'm wondering if the version I'm doing of that song has the sound of what you call "modern" . . .?” So there you have it. Thanks for the link.
  6. I've had it for years. Probably over 10 years. It was just a song in a folder of odd songs that I liked and held onto. Perhaps it was an early release before an album/ I'm on a different computer so I'm not sure of the quality. It's possibly only 128 or 160 given how old it is. regardless if anyone want the MP3, PM me an email address and I'll send it through.
  7. So I recently picked up Amaze Me Ultimate Collection, and was surprised not to see the song "Time" on it. So now I'm wondering if it's the same band? Did a search and can't fine Time in their catalog. Anyone know this song?
  8. Five Finger Death Punch - Got Your Six some songs are pretty good.
  9. I sat back and watched it and thought it was OK. My expectations were pretty high, like most people, but I walked out thinking that it was an ok movie. Many other people hated a lot of things about it. I thought the side plot going to the casino to find the dude was wasted, and in the end, by not obeying their superiors the heroes cost many live, which is the opposite to what usually happens. Also in a galaxy far far away it seems that there has been a complete gender switch with females dominating the universe
  10. Yeah I'm a bit worried about that. Sometimes happens when an album is instantly great, and I've only given this one a good go in the last couple of weeks.
  11. I think Andrew at Melodic Rock started this rating system. We all rate songs, even if it's a basic "like it - don't like it" system I'm happy to give various increments between crap and perfect, but little interest in "that song was nothing like an 8.25, at best it was 8.1254956"
  12. Don't think I've seen a post like that before about that movie. Most people were confused and disappointed at best - hoping that the movie was a big set up for the last one.
  13. Yeah, sorry for a second I got confused with the original vocalist who wasn't on any album. Stratton played On the first one? Burr has some importance to me, obviously Dianno, but most of the rest were just guys filling spots while the band established itself. Same with Bayley. He's really not that important to Iron Maiden history to me. Look at Dianno now. He's just a dude who sung on a couple of good albums> I liked his ST album, and I really liked Gogmagog (all 3 songs) but aside from that Battlezone was pretty average and he's making a living doing whatever he does. I doubt I'd bother going to see him sing.
  14. ST. PROSTITUTE 1 hr · 6 years ago today we released our debut album “Here Come The Prostitutes”. It was recorded at Medley Studios and producer by our good friend Soren Andersen ??? Right now we are working on our 3rd album ... We cant say much about the album yet BUT it will be a new and improved ST. PROSTITUTE ?? ...See more
  15. Wasn't directed at you. Or anyone in particular.
  16. I think that Poison Apples is far and above the best song off Motley Crue ST. Some people will say that Hammered is easily the best. Each to their own. There are a few albums that I consider amazing without fillers. In fact I'd say that this HS album is one of them. Hot Action Cop - ST Rick Springfiled - Rock Of Life Dangerous Toys - Pissed Def Lep - Hysteria Andy Taylor - Thunder Porbably most Twisted Sister albums Some Maiden albums but these are exceptional albums Most of the time these days I'm pretty happy to find 4 really good songs on an album. Part of the reason they will stand out is because of the average stuff around them.
  17. I like Corabi. Liked him in MC, and in Union, and solo stuff etc But What I find is that he needs good songs to really shine. Neither of the above were that great. Just grinding rock more reminiscent of the more average songs he did with MC Give me Poison Apples, Misunderstood, Hooligans Holiday, Who Do You Think You Are, Love I Don't Need It Any More, Get Off My Cloud. Man In The Moon, Father Mother Son All of those songs shit all over what's about. Hoping that this is a case of the songs that they thing are the best on the album, being the ones I don't like and that there are some gems in there somewhere.
  18. Just keep in mind my rating system. I can't use your 8.25, 9.0128, 7.6, etc scale. Songs would vary by 10% depending on my mood, so mine is more simplified. Regardless, songs will always be rated between each other on the same album to a degree. As I said, if the songs I rated lower were on say Hope, they'd all be real stand outs. Even then I gave them a C which means they'd be considered for a best of CD. Just that personally I think many of the others are better on that album. Of the songs I rated lower, that one is the better one. I could have given it a C+ or B- but I didn't really think it mattered all that much and it gets too ".25 .75" for me If I were to rate the album overall, it would be an A. That would be comparing the whole package not only to other HS albums, but to most other hard rock albums. I'll use my rating system again for some other CD, and it will probably be shamed much more. I'm a pretty harsh critic. By definition if a song wouldn't make a best of CD (usually one of 4 to 6 on an album) then it's filler. Not that filler is always a bad thing. Sometimes an album needs more average songs to make the others stand out. eg: Midnight City. All the songs were fairly even, and lack of fillers (and production and lack of a unique sound in some of the songs) let it down for me.
  19. What I took from this album Break Your Chains Come Back Without You Eagles Last Day The rest was OK/filler/nothing too special for me.
