Slayer - South of Heaven ... 'nuff said.

Their best for me. And the most amazing drum sound (playing?) ever recorded.

It's my favourite Slayer album ... cracking stuff from start to finish ...

It's good, but for me 'Seasons In The Abyss' destroys it. Not really 'true' Slayer though, so I'm clearly not a proper Slayer fan.

Not really 'true' Slayer? How so ... it's the four main men, doing their thing ... and it's got 'War Ensemble' on it ... I don't follow your logic ... although I still prefer South Of Heaven :)

Just in that it's more melodic, not the usual frenetic noisefest. I can imagine that it may have turned off some Slayer fans. 'War Ensemble' is a fast and furious thrash-out, but purists may have been tutting and shaking their heads at 'Dead Skin Mask', 'Seasons In The Abyss', etc.

BTW, the title track is by far and away my favourite Slayer track, or should I say choooooooooon!!!! :banger:

The title track is amazing... it has a nice 'South of Heaven' feeling. ;)
