This afternoon / evening:

Silverstein - 'When broken is easily fixed' (First listen, not too impressed. I love 'Discovering the waterfront', but this was a good metal album, nothing more.)

Armor For Sleep - 'What to do when you are dead' (Very solid)

Damned Nation - 'Grand design' (A long standing fave of mine)

Now:

Eli - 'Push it hard' (A couple of fillers first up, but songs 3 and 4 are great and hopefully the rest is too... I like thier sound/vibe.)

The Way - 'Frequency of spirit'  (this is Russel Arcara, hey? This is pretty cool stuff.)

Hey Geoff,

I thought this was awful. There's 1 great song (something about 'leaves' in the title) but otherwise tuneless.

Now Playing:

SR-71 - Now You See Inside

Yeah, I must say I was expecting pretty much the same, but I think that's why I'm a little into it because it did surprise me slightly. I'm not going to say it's great, no way, but it isn't so bad. I don't mind it.

Now listening to:

Grand Illusion - 'Ordinary just won't do' (I hate those overdone vocals in the chorus, but this ain't bad either. I kinda like this one.)

"Lost Among the Leaves" is the track - truly a killer modern rock ballad if ever I heard one. Skipped through the other tracks though... Decided to dig out some Grand Illusion myself (the predecessor, with even BIGGER choruses):-

GRAND ILLUSION - View From the Top

I just listened to that 'Lost among the leaves' and have to agree - great song.

Currently listening to:

Hawthorne Heights - 'If only you were lonely' (Wow, I was really looking forward to this one. I like the debut, but the music is such a stop-start affair and always seems to falter without taking off. This one flows much better and the songs are MILES better. There is also a lot less screaming too, which is a great thing. I am really, really digging this. Watch this be a worthy part of my best of 2006 list.)
