that is great 80's New Wave style. Have any of you heard them? They are so cool to listen to. 80's new wave is one of my guilty pleasures and this new band captures that same feel.

'Stang...if you dig them check out a band called The Bravery.......or Billy Corgan's new one...and believe it or not....*gulp*....Kelly Osbourne's new one. All of the aforementioned bands are purely in the 80's New Wave style.....

I liked the first one , but thought the second 'Sam's Town' was a tremendous disc - really strong set of songs. I still play it quite regularly. I also got the latest one a few weeks back, which isn't bad either.

Good band in general for me, for when I want something different.

The singer Brandon Flowers lived homeless on the streets of Salt Lake for many years, playing in countless bands, before hearing the call and greyhounding it to Vegas, which I guess paid off! if you guys wanna hear Killers at the most 80s sounding style I think they could pull off without actually being released in the 80s, check out their cd called Sawdust, it's B-Sides, Demos, and Remixes, it's got a song called Move Away, it's almost surreal what kind of 80s vibe they trap in this song, I bet you play it for 100 people that have never heard it, and 100 people would tell you it was a early to mid 80s song, excellent song also, not just 80s sounding, it is an extremely well done song, check it out.

I'm with you on this one mate. The 80's ruled (still rules)! That is my favourite decade in music. So many great artists, at least in the pop genre. The favourite of them all: Duran Duran.

I listened to a Killers album for first time the other day....

AWFUL!

Continues to justify why i hate music played on the radio. Why are these guys popular?! I dont get it! Also one of the worst vocalists ive heard.

Nobody on this thread said they had a good vocalist! nor did I read one post saying they were talented, I know I never said that, but you know what? if you played most of the shit on the radio all day long, the one time you wouldnt think it was all the same band playing is when the Killers came on, I'll be the first to say, which I have to countless friends, Brandon Flowers is a terrible singer, but he makes it work for the songs they play, and for that, they DON'T SOUND LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE! for better or worse.

Backed. They're absolutely HUGE here & it's currently very cool to like them, so they sell millions. IMHO their talent just doesn't justify that level of sales & they're very overhyped. I much prefer the more commercial sounding pop bands (Kids in Glass Houses, Go:Audio, Forever the Sickest Kids). That said, I'd much rather hear the Killers on the radio to Rap or R&B!

A lot of truth here. I hate this band too and it just seems to me that if you're going to bother liking something like this, you may as well concentrate those efforts on a good band like Go:Audio or Forever the Sickest Kids. ;)

    • Eclipse played that same game when Apocalypse Blues came out.  They dropped that song as just a single and made no mention of an album at that point as far as I remember.  All they were doing was selling the 7 inch vinyl.  We know now though that they clearly knew a full album was coming as Erik said they basically were working on both albums at the same time and deciding which tracks would go on each album.  Granted, maybe they didn't know the full timing of album #2 at that point but they certainly knew one was coming. Maybe the same here.  Maybe will trickle out a few songs and then announce an album later this year or early next year when it's closer to release.
    • So, Danny posted how the song is doing on Spotify and someone asked if this means a new album soon. Danny just made vague replies and said "well there will be more stuff coming soon"
    • Funnily enough, I read that this afternoon when I went to add the album to my collection on the main page. I got the European version which has two bonus tracks ... if you don't have them, you really aint missing anything

    • Created and Posted this video recently in order to promote Ryder SRIII a little more.  I love this song, one of my personal favs from the record.   Be careful viewing at work though (NSFW), just for a couple of images in the video.
    • Named my HH self after the song Auslander on the album Stain. Love that track. Really like the whole album. It's like Living Colour's "Slave to the Grind" or "Dog Eat Dog".
    • From Frontiers: TRACKLIST: 1 Awesome God 2 Stand Up 3 Warrior 4 There You Are 5 Speak His Name 6 Why God Brought Me Here 7 Praying 8 It's Up to You 9 Holy Moment 10 Leaning on the Cross 11 Jesus Christ --- When a musical family gets together to record, magic can happen and this is what the VAN ZANT’s are here for! Brothers Johnny and Donnie Van Zant (respectively current lead vocalist of Southern Rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd and founding member of .38 Special) were able to find room in their busy schedules for the first time in 1998, recording their collaboration album “Brother to Brother”: a tribute to their late brother and Lynyrd Skynyrd original singer and founding member Ronnie. Such release was highly acclaimed between the press and fans worldwide and brought the duo to record a follow up album, simply entitled “II” in 2001. Their collaboration during the years did not stop as they tapped their feet in a more Country-oriented style with the release of “Get Right With the Man” (certified Gold in the USA in 2005) and later on with “My Kind of Country” in 2007. Now the brothers once again reinvent themselves, offering a Christian-themed album encompassing their Rock and Blues musical roots (and with a touch of Country for good measure). The result “Always Look Up” is made up of songs that will touch the listener’s heart and soul, with an emotional depth that is truly second to none in today’s musical landscape. Experience the soul touching that only the music from the Van Zant family, can provide. You will see why they are icons of the American South, and musical heroes to millions around the globe!
