"Dirty Harry" (1971)

Nuff said! :banger:

Clint Eastwood's first film as San Francisco's most bad-ass police officer still holds up well 40 (!) years later.

Not a movie, but I have been watching the seasons of MORK AND MINDY on dvd with my son, and he enjoys them very much. It used to be my fav show when it was on primetime, and I have not watched them since. I am enjoying them also, many fond memories. We were both surprised to see a very young David Letterman on an ep yesterday. I also like looking around the music store set and trying to identify the different posters and albums :)

GAME OF THRONES (2011)

superb movie, a colossal/adventure/fantasy thing, doing a quick ten series marathon in the last few days, I really like this one and can't wait for the second season. The sex, nudity, and violence are disturbing for the young age so need to pay attention while watching this one at home, overall a top notch movie!

"China O'Brien" (1988)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0yuhosB1e8

Ultra-low-budget chop-socky '80s action fun starring female karate champ Cynthia Rothrock. She's a former big city cop who returns to her small home town to clean up a mobster problem after her father (the local sheriff) is murdered. Mullets, acid washed denim fashions, and hilariously awful acting ensue. Cynthia's got definite butt kicking moves but her pixie-ish looks and Debbie Gibson fashions add a whole 'nother dimension of hilarity to the fight scenes.

Not a horror film at all but this definiteily qualifies as a Schlock-Tober Craptacular entry.

Useless trivia, the film was directed by Robert Clouse, who also did Bruce Lee's "Enter the Dragon" as well as the legendary "Gymkata!" Well, one out of three ain't bad I guess.

"Scream 4"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlaZfOiGaCU

Sidney, Gail and Dewey are back, along with a whole new cast of good lookin' teenyboppers/victims for another round of brutal stabbings and biting sarcasm. Unnecessary but mostly enjoyable sequel.

Schlock-Tober continues...

"Trick or Treat" (1986)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2Iv2vVIqng

Marc "Skippy" Price is a lonely high school metal nerd who inadvertently brings his favorite rock star back from the dead by playing his final album backwards. Cartoonish chaos ensues.

...CLASSIC cheesy '80s teen horror with a killer soundtrack courtesy of Fastway, plus cameos by Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne.

Basically, if you're a member of this forum, you need to see this movie at least once. Hell, maybe you need to OWN it. I do!

Copycat (1995)

a story about a serial killer wannabe who wants to be famous by copycatting serial killers from the past. Reminds me a bit of 'Criminal Minds' but the movie was dragged to slow, heavily focusing on Sigourney Weaver's agoraphobia and not on the serial killer itself. Holly Hunter portrayed a naive and pretty mindless woman cop, in fact, I kinda see she's a useless cop here. The whole movie could be better, not really diggin' this, expect a more twisting and clever plot, in the end, it's just too average and obsolete.

    • This band doesn't exist to me, anymore. They ended when Steve passed.
    • New video 'Looking For Paradise'.
    • I remember a time when I would have actually been excited at this news...but to be honest their last couple have not been great,Bang and Firebirth had some real nice moments...fingers crossed this one ticks my box.
    • New album 'Stereo Crush' coming early next year through their new label Reigning Phoenix Music. More details to come....
    • From Escape Music: In 2019 the debut album “Attitude” by Lonerider was released, a band that not only features Steve Overland (FM, Solo, Shadowman), Steve Morris (Heartland, Shadowman) and Chris Childs (Thunder) but legendary drummer Simon Kirke of Free and Bad Company fame. The band come across like Bad Company mixed with Shadowman and their debut “Attitude” was loved by many. Lonerider have the feel of that classic Bad Company that we know and love, yet the songs are modern, fresh and vibrant.  In 2022, the follow up album titled “Sundown” was released boasting 12 new tracks of classic rock in the same vein as “Attitude”, well why change a winning formula? The band have continued to attract new fans and they have all been eagerly awaiting a third outing and it’s due for release in November, 2024. The album “Down in the Dust is released on 15th November in both CD and limited edition (500 all numbered) double vinyl. The Vinyl will have 3 bonus tracks. This is an extension of what this exciting band have already given us, and it just keeps getting better. The addition of Steve Mann (Lionheart / MSG) adds so much with that Hammond organ vibe, giving it an “old school” feel and yet the band continues to expand on fresh ideas and melodies. There are no fillers here. Once again, the Lonerider lineup excel themselves in giving us another fine release.  Track List: 01 Shiver (4:22)  02 Three Steps Back (4:34)  03 Getting Closer (4:35)  04 Help Me Brother (3:59) 05 Gypsy of the Highway (5:17)  06 Brokendown Town (5:19)  07 Mystery Man (4:39)  08 Cool Hand (4:24)  09 Back Behind The Wheel (4:23)  10 Long Game (3:42) 11 Actions Speak Louder Than Words (4:03)  12 All Fired Up (3:57)  Vinyl Bonus tracks 13 Chasing Rainbows (3:47)  14 Blue Collar Man (4:33) 15 Lost and Found (4:03)
    • I'll look forward to album...nearest to Krokus we'll get at the minute by the looks of it.
