Cool cover.  Kind of odd releasing preorders without dropping a single along with the announcement though IMO.

I dig a lot of tunes from this band but at the same time their last release didn't do a whole lot for me outside of a couple songs.  I think Never, Switchblade Sister and The Last One are the only songs I really revisit in my playlists.  I I'd like to see them kind of turn up the production a bit, use more backing vocals, maybe add more variety in songs, etc.  For me, their more melodic songs like Paint By Numbers, Got It Bad, In Our Blood, Forever, The One, Cold Star Dancer, etc are some of their best stuff.

Definitely will be checking this out as I feel like these guys are a talented band that's done some good tunes.

Seize the day is probably my fave song from them.

As for the last album, for me it suffers from one huge problem, and its the same problem for most albums I bought around the same time, I don't remember what its like and in some cases dont even remember buying them. This was smack bang in the middle of my cancer/brain issues. I have tried revisiting a lot from this period, but with so many new purchases since then its hard to play stuff I dont even remember.

Ah, maverick are probably one of only a handful of bands who I know will deliver these days.

Can't wait.

New tune.  Pretty good, rocking tune imo upon my first listen. Also, seems to me like their production has been turned up a notch on these new songs.

New single out.  Digging this too....love the menacing riffs driving this one.

Looking forward to this album!

I always wondered how they can shoot a video in slowmotion, and still make the lips move perfectly in sync with the lyrics.

This is a good example of this.

Really looking forward to this album dropping this week!  Have loved the 3 singles so far.

I kind of feel like this band sort of peaked for me with Big Red album.  Then Cold Star Dancer, while still pretty decent, was a little bit of a step down from what had come before it and Ethereality was a further step down.  Don't get me wrong, both of those albums still had some good moments but songs and/or weaker production/mix kind of put those albums well behind the first two for me.

Based upon the 3 new songs so far though and the snippet of Puppet Show I've heard on their FB page, it's sounding to me like they might have dialed things in and gotten back on track with this new one.  And this time the production does sound great and is standing out as a positive to me.

Have seen a few reviews and all have been pretty good so far.  Here's one....

See for me, Cold star dancer is their best work. Everything else is great, but nothing comes close to that album for me.

There's some stuff on that album I do like a lot.....Cold Star Dancer (the song) is probably my 2nd favorite song they've done behind Got It Bad.  I also really like Kiss of Fire, Goodbye and Seize the Day.  I've just struggled getting into some of the other songs on it for some reason though.  I think maybe it was maybe missing some catchy/memorable choruses in spots.  I did like the slightly more modern and heavier, bass-driven direction they started going in on that album with many songs and seems like that's the direction this new album will go based upon the songs so far.

Well see.  Really looking forward to this and Kissin' Dynamite in the near future!  :headbanger:

Fantastic album imo!  Not sure yet where it'll rank in their discography but can already say for certain I like it way more than their last album.  And it definitely has a chance to be my favorite release of theirs.  Need to see how it settles and let the excitement of a new album wear off a bit.

Heavy, melodic, catchy....some nice variety in songs....and the overall sound/mix really sounds great and is enhancing these songs for me.  Listen to this on some good speakers or headphones!

I'd say my early highlights are Puppet Show, Sweet Surrender, Daywalker, Evenfall, Bloody Mary & Time.  I dig the callback stuff going on in Daywalker....harkens back a little bit to Paint By Numbers IMO.

Easily my favorite album so far this year.  We'll see if Kissin Dynamite can top it in a couple weeks!
