"Catch Me If You Can", the explosive new single from Sweden's self-coined "street metallers" HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, is scheduled to be released on all digital platforms on August 20 via Golden Robot Records.

"Catch Me If You Can" picks up the pace and builds on the momentum created by the band's 2018 release "You Can't Kill My Rock 'N Roll". This saw the band travel across the globe from America to Australia, playing to some of the largest audiences of their career and including an unforgettable night, where they broke attendance record for a headline act on the opening night of the world-famous Sweden Rock Festival.

Loud, aggressive and totally unrelenting, "Catch Me If You Can" bursts out the speakers with an onslaught of attitude, combined with a pounding backbeat and a chorus that hits like a freight train. This single sets the tone perfectly for the band's upcoming album "Abrakadabra", which is scheduled for release in March 2022.

Recorded at both Osterlycken and Bombastik in Musikhens Hus in Gothenburg, the band returned to their roots to work with acclaimed producer Johan Reiven, who they previously collaborated with on their 2005 Black Album. The result is an intense and hard-hitting collection of songs that drummer Magnus "Adde" Andreasson describes as a "natural follow-up to the Black album" and definitely "an album for the fans that is best shared with good friends, cold beer and very loud speakers."

Asked in a 2019 interview with Roppongi Rocks if he feels he and his bandmates have to write fun, "feel-good" party songs rather than more serious songs, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR singer Jocke Berg said: "HARDCORE SUPERSTAR is synonymous with the word 'feel-good.' It should be fun. It's drinking and toasting. A hell of a pre-party with HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, sort of. The previous album wasn't like that. It didn't end up much feel-good as it was quite dark. But if we wanted to write a TOOL song or something like that, it would not fit in with HARDCORE. We have to be in the musical region where the HARDCORE SUPERSTAR sound lives. In that case, we would have to do it as a side project. I want to do a death metal album. Unfortunately, I can't do that with HARDCORE."

As for how he would describe HARDCORE SUPERSTAR's sound, Jocke said: "The new album feels a lot like arena rock. You can hear QUEEN vibes. SLADE — some obvious vibes. ZZ TOP. I'd like to call it arena rock. That's the kind of vibe we have. It's a big sound. We had QUEEN as a starting point. QUEEN's fantastic. Especially with Freddie Mercury on vocals. We had that arena rock feeling as a starting point. We tried to capture that feeling somehow."

Gave this a listen and was instantly impressed.
First 3 or 4 songs were excellent.
After that more hit and miss, but will see after a few more listens

Gotta be honest, but these guys just bore me now. :(

They had a really good run with the s/t, 'Dreamin,' 'Beg for it,' 'Split your lip' and 'C'mon take on me' - really impressive run, credit where it's due. But everything before and after these albums has been very weak. This included. One or two half okay songs, but overall the album did nothing at all to interest me.

    • Looks like complete bullshit. Look at all of the videos from this channel: https://www.youtube.com/@infogaming786/videos
    • Is this true, I don't see much about it anywhere else?
    • Well they just posted this on Facebook, so I would certainly hope this is a sign a new album is incoming
    • Sounds pretty good all round...just preordered..released 22nd Nov
    • Luckily I will hopefully be front row so wont make a mess on anyones back.
    • If we never hear from you again, at least we'll know you went out with a smile on your face.
    • Wow! Thank you so much mate. That's a massive compliment. That was the first one I wrote and I think it's my favourite so far. Like Geoff, I'm tending to draw on past personal experiences for my lyrics and that one means a lot. I was thrilled when the AI came up with that interpretation.
    • Well this is some excellent news. Going to see Sophie Lloyds first headline show on 17th Oct in London (tiny club called The Underworld) and it has just been announced that the support act will be Chez Kane... can I handle two fit birds peforming on stage or will my heart give out before the show is over?
    • I don't rate or grade albums with any kinda numbering system or percentage. All I do is think which were the albums I enjoyed most, which generally means got played the most (I mean you don't play the worst albums over and over again for months), with memorable songs. Then when it comes to what order they go in. Once again, I just go with what I feel got the most airplay for me over the course of time. Obviously an album released in Jan is gonna potentially have more play time than one released in November, but It's down to longevity as well. If I play an album solidly for a month then move on, it's probably gonna be top 10, but if other albums are still being played regularly 3 or more months after release, those are gonna rank higher. I mean this year Judas Priest was a fairly early release in the year, but I am still playing it now, although  not as often. Then an album like Mick Mars which I loved, but has kinda fallen off my radar in the last six months, will rank a lot lower. I try to not go for recency bias as well even though I have been listening to one album in my top 10 for only a week, but it was such an insantaneous album I know its gonna get heavy play time for the next few months.
