From facebook:

EXTRA EXTRA, say hello to Alexander Strandell who is the Voice of Nitrate for the next album "Renegade"!!!

Alex is a well known voice in the AOR scene, as a singer for Art Nation (and formerly of Diamond Dawn & Creye).
I expect this to be nothing more than pure Magic and wish Nick Hogg nothing but the best for this new outfit of the band.
(note: Philip Lindstrand is still in the band, and I’ve heard there’s heavy involvement from the VEGA Twins Tom and James).

Agree...Pretty strange having 3 different singers.

Maybe they can pull in Joe Elliott for album #4 as I'd like to hear him singing on some good melodic rock tunes again

New Nitrate tune out.

I'm personally just a little iffy on Strandell's vocals only because I hear a bit of an accent now and then.  Sometimes he works for me, sometimes he doesn't....it's really kind of weird.  Usually I either like a guys vocals or I don't....But I've seemed to float back and forth on him over the years for whatever reason.

Anyways, that said, I think this song works pretty well for me.  Great music/sound/vibe/production, well written lyrics and pretty cool throwback video.  This one will be hitting my playlist for sure.

I like that, sounds quite good,it'll be hard for them to better Open Wide though for me,but i'm really looking forward to this.

Bang average song - Very safe. Guess I must be hearing something different to you guys.

Interesting comment above regarding well written lyrics.. I was thinking the exact opposite throughout the song. Not a fan of Alex’s vocals either.

I’ll still keep an eye on future singles, but that one didn’t grab me at all.

Like that one...nowhere near the Open Wide stuff but good all the same

Yeah, that 'Danger zone' chorus is limp as Cody's schlong when he sees an nude woman, but otherwise it's okay. But yeah, definitely misses the mark.

'Big City Lights' is absolutely delicious.

Got this today from the band, sounds really good, not amazing but really enjoyable, I do think though that I prefer the vocals from Open Wide though.

Favourite tunes so far are "You Think You've Got It" ,"Big City Lights" ,"Addicted" & "Edge Of Surrender" and there a few ballads like "Why Can't You Feel My Love" & "Lay Down Your Arms" just an enjoyable disc for my tastes.

A band I quite like without blowing me away. Some nice tracks on all their albums

    • Yeah I guess it’s a little different for physical CD collectors, but even still, stuff can happen in four weeks. In the world of streaming, especially, there could still be half a dozen notable albums to come this year. I don’t know what they could be as I keep no track at all of upcoming albums, so I never know what’s still to come, which could be anything.    I guess if you’re a meticulous planner and are fully aware of every single new release you might be interested in, and there’s no more due this year - which is probably exactly what this Brendan dude is - no harm in releasing the list.
    • She came out with in New Romantic era, like Adam and the Ants, Duran Duran Her father, Marty, had big hits in early sixties
    • I think I pretty much have my top ten list, but seeing as I have been tracking it through the year rather than leaving it to the end as normal, I am not sure it will change being that I don't really have more purchases lined up. But being that this year I have really gone wild on filling back catalogue gaps, I may pick up something I missed from this year and that will upset the apple cart ha ha
    • Whoah this is catchy!
    • Calling for you, Emaheeval & Gone bad on the debut Widowmaker album were all Desperado songs. Of course the Widowmaker debut was released before Desperado's album finally got a release even though it was recorded after. The thing that always made me laugh was that when it was first released as Bloodied but unbowed with three extra tracks to what was the original planned tracklist, I bought it from Dee Sniders website, so was fully endorsed by Dee. But years later when Deadline released it under its original name, Ace, without the three extra songs, Dee claimed it had never been released before ... selective memory?

    • Did not have "liking an album from The Offspring" on my 2024 bingo card, but there we are. Not sure if it's pop, punk, or something else... catchy though.
    • No no no!  Worst thing in the 80s (musicwise), Modern Talking.
    • Really liking this one bar the Journey cover, which whilst not terrible , doesn’t really do a lot for me. The rest though is rather excellent
