From FB:

Hey friends,
This was an amazing year for me and for all the TNT fans who were lucky enough to be at the concerts. Many of the shows were the best TNT shows ever in my opinion.
Sadly it's not possible for me to continue with the band. I won't bore you with all the details...it's nothing mind blowing and it's certainly nothing new and it's also best to respect the privacy of the band and keep our issues between us. At least that's my goal.
What I can tell you all is that I tried very hard once again to make it work for the long haul. I had really high hopes that it would last this time and that we would continue for years to come but it is a very volatile little machine. It's a really great band with a wonderful catalog of music and I'm proud of all the work we've done and all we've accomplished over the years. I love our crew and appreciate all their hard work and dedication. I wish the other guys in the band well in life and in all their future endeavors.
To the wonderful TNT fans...I know you feel deep disappointment right now and truly, so do I...more than you could ever know. My heart is broken, again, but I have no regrets about the past year and I'm really happy I could have such a wonderful final tour with the band for you guys. To all those who's cities we didn't reach, I apologize. It wasn't for lack of desire on my part to get to you this time.
Onward and upward! Love you all! TH
P.S. This is my statement, I won't elaborate:)

I was over it the first time he left. I like TNT, so it does suck but oh well life goes on.

Yeah, I care. One of the best bands ever and the thought of new music was great. Sounds like more bullshit drama with no consideration of the fans.

Agreed. This really sucks. I wanted "My Religion II". :crying:

The band's response via FB:

12 hrs ·

Happy new year everybody! We hereby want to thank you, and everybody on & off stage for a great 2014 - celebrating 25 anniversary of the Intuition album and releasing the Anniversary album with Trondheim Symphony Orchestra.

Despite a great 2014 here was never any firm plans for TNT in 2015. The band & crew have worked hard since The Big Bang release in 2003. More than 10 years - actually longer than the first period in the the 80s!

TNT have always suffered challenging logistics. We envy band & crew who live in the same city Traveling and being away from home can be hard for everybody. Especially for those who have to travel the longest and be the longest time away from their dear ones.

The only firm 2015 plans so far is that Ronni will continue promoting his recent solo album and will be gigging with Rypdal/Tekrø. Diesel will be doing some gigs with Tindrum featuring Kee Marcello.

The TNT heart have NOT stopped beating.
Concider it possible that TNT will rise again - sooner or later - in one way or another form.

The band are open for suggestions and comments - and for sure we will be in touch with YOU !

Massively overrated band sorry.

My Religion is a masterpiece.

Yeah, I don't understand that comment. If you don't like them that's fine but overrated? Great vocals and talented musicians...

Sounds like there was a piss fight and everyone quit. I'm not interested in another incarnation of the band.

Did anybody know about this? Who's fronting this band?

To each their own. Most of their songs are pretty average and believe me ive tried.

Plus his vocals are just plain annoying.

That stood out for me too.

I appreciate LeTekro's optimism, but he must, MUST realise there is no TNT without Harnell. It's sad but true. Just call it done and finish it. I understand his heart is in the right place, wanting to keep the band alive, but it's a dead horse without Harnell and there is no more massive proof than the albums released under the TNT banner without Harnell. Few would dispute that the albums post-Harnell have done the TNT brand name infinite amounts of harm, and it needs to stop.

As for this being good or bad news, I'll be honest and admit I'd forgotten Harnell was back with the band, as bands touring Europe mean nothing to me. Until I hear news about a new album, or a tour of Australia, I'm not really interested, so I had long forgotten he was back with the band, hence this news not really having any impact on me at all.

I think I must agree on the overrated thing...Realized Fantasies was my favorite and the 2 previous were okay but I could easily put their 'best of' on a single cd....to each their own I guess...

on an EP ;-)

Rubbish. Not even you believe that. I feel like you've used these very pages to speak favourably of the great 'My Religion' album?

Anyway, I'm a realist and although I love this band until the anus meets the tip of the vagina, even I can admit - because it's plain as day - that they do have a lot of fillers in their catalogue. I don't think you could have an artist like Letekro in your band without fillers popping up, to be honest.

But jeezus wept, if you weed out the fillers, there are KILLER songs all throughout their entire discography. And if you want pretty complete discs, 'Tell no tales,' 'Realized Fantasies,' 'Firefly,' 'Transistor,' 'My Religion' and 'All the way to the sun' ALL have convincing killer>filler ratios. Actually, even 'Intuition,' which does have a handful of their best ever songs, isn't overall bad either.

Yeah, I guess I can understand not adoring this band, but painting a picture that they only have 5 good songs in their discography is just plain wrong. A 17 track best of I can cater to, but it would be one fucker of an amazing compilation.

I could do an EP of their fillers maybe...not sure if it would be an EP though...maybe a single :)

When I actually get a chance to re-visit their albums (on Spotify of course....I dont own any of them), I'll post some more thoughts.

I just remember earlier last year there was a real buzz around TNT playing the final fling at Firefest so I went on Spotify and you tube and checked out loads of songs. Most of them were just completely average and these were songs which had been played live so must have been some of their highlights.

'10,000 lovers' was a great song but I couldnt find many with a hook like that.

Perhaps you guys could list your top 15 songs??

I remember thinking that I preferred the sound and songs on the debut Starbreaker album to any TNT album.

oh you don't own any TNT ?

TNT has many great songs Glen, go check out, for me personally 2 great albums that you should own are Tell No Tales and Intuition, but their comeback in 2004 with 'My Religion' is also a monster, the rest are spread between killers and fillers. You can also just simply buy 'Till Next Time : The Best of' which was released in 1996

my fave songs are :

Tell No Tales (1987)

10.000 Lovers

As Far As The Eyes Can See

Listen To Your Heart

Tell No Tales

Intuition (1989)

Tonight I'm Falling

End of The Line

Intuition

Learn To Love

Take Me Down (Fallen Angel)

My Religion (2004)

Lonely Nights

You'll Be There

Live Today

Everybody's Got A Secret

and from the rest of their albums

Break The Ice (1984)

Deadly Metal (1984)

Lionheart (1992)

Rain (1992)

U.S.A (1984)

i kinda forget the rest, need to relisten again but definitely just avoid The Tony Mills era (New Territory and Atlantis), it sucks big time :D

    • New album out June 28. Not my style per se, but well executed IMO.
    • "Still in Love" and "Sweet Melody" by Lancia
    • I posted about this record store (well, CD store really... it has a fair amount of vinyl, but the focus is CDs) 2 years ago. I go there about once a year, and every single time I do I keep kicking myself to go there more often. Not only for the sheer enjoyment of being able to shop the music genres we love and view all these releases in hand, but because it's so damned overwhelming. There's never time to go through things at leisure, pulling out boxes under racks to rummage, because even flying through things and NOT exploring new artists, it's still 3-4 hours to go through the alphabet... let alone stopping and using their listening station (they'll let you listen to used/opened material, not still sealed merch). It's only an hour and a half drive for me each way, so there's really ZERO excuse for me not going over there more frequently. This time I remembered to take a bunch of pictures, pulling out releases from artists we enjoy just to show what they had in stock... a lot of material you'll never see at any mainstream store (even if there is any that carry CDs anymore). Sure, the prices are more expensive than what you'll pay at Amazon and other online stores, but they're not as bad as you would think, and there are bargains to be had amongst the used material when it comes to OOP discs. And to be fair, being able to view all this stuff in-hand is worth it IMO. (Although every now and then you'll see an OOP disc that is WAAAAAAAY overpriced, but at least they have the odd and unusual.) They have one of those old-school "buyer club" stamp cards, with 20 spaces. One stamp per disc purchased. Every other stamp you get a dollar off, and when you fill a card you get $16.99 off your purchase and then you get a new card. On your birthday, you get $1 off every CD and that's on top of the buyer club card discounts. First the pics from when I was going through the aisles, starting with some general pics. Every single artist has its own title card, so look at the variety and depth of the artists. Also, look at the overstock in boxes underneath all the racks! That's the shit I never have time to go through (except when there's a specific artist I'm focusing in on). You've got CDs in the racks, then ringing the entire room is a shelf of box sets and limited editions, then above that VHS tapes, and above that vintage audio equipment. Sections for DVDs and blu-rays (not just music, but movies as well, including a small section of 4K and 3D titles). There's a smaller upper room level that is nothing but vinyl. If you're going to go, plan at least a full day, not just a quick drive-by. They're open from 11AM - 7PM Eastern Time.     Expensive at $249.99, but how many places have a still-sealed copy of the Vanden Plas Epic Works box set???     And now the stuff I picked up this trip. Most is completist fodder. There are a few artists where I literally want an example of every single pressing, even if I already have other label/year/country versions... call me OCD.               I picked up this one for trade/resale even though I already have it, as it is the LOOOONG out of print original fan club edition.     Hmmm... didn't know there was a solo effort, and it seems to be thematically related to the Threshold album "Legend of the Shires".       More OCD completist fodder. I didn't know that Avalon Records (Japan) licensed releases for South Korea.         Live albums aren't normally my thing, but this appears to be way out of print, and for $10 why not?   A few OOP releases for my multichannel audio collection       I'll be posting more about these once I get my shit together, but I'm WAAAAAAAAAY fucking late to the game when it comes to the Jethro Tull 40th anniversary CD + DVD special editions. They only reason I knew about them at all is that I saw a blurb about the 40th anniversary edition of "Broadsword and the Beast", which is my alltime favorite JT album, the first one I ever heard, and I love the album cover... which led me down the rabbithole of all these anniversary editions and their multichannel mixes. Unfortunately a few of them are now OOP and insanely in the $150-300 range. I ordered all of the ones that were still in print (or that had been reprinted), but there were still 4 that I needed... and they had one of them.   And lastly, the most expensive purchase of the day, going back to previous box set discussions, this was one that wasn't on my radar at the time it came out. Based upon eBay listings, it's now a tough find... and they had one still sealed. No, it's not the Amazon exclusive that was signed by Biff Byford, but autographs aren't important enough for me to spend the $500-$1,000 that the signed version now brings. This one will do nicely at a fraction of the cost... a huge and hefty tome (literally).   So when all was said and done, a great (and expensive!) shopping day, but a place I wholeheartedly recommend visiting should you find yourself out here in flyover country. • What's this one mate? A guess at the previous riddle or a new one?
    • At the risk of sounding foolish once again... I don't get it.
    • Album out May 31 on Metalopolis Records. The last album was stellar.
    • Hey Now am I the winner again ??!
    • Sundown - Lonerider
    • I guess you two are the only ones playing this game.  It was, of course, Harem Scarem.
