Best female vocals EVER!

Credits indeed should go to Ann Wilson, love her voice, but James, I admit this Tori can also sing, good vocal.

The song is decent and the verse somehow weirdly reminds me, a part of it, to 'Total Eclipse of The Heart'

and hey, Bonnie has nice pipes too :D

Well, the lyric "turn around" is in both songs and it does sound similar in both, so you make a very good point.

Good call on Bonnie, nice voice, although I don't think I've ever heard anything by her other than 'Total Eclipse of The Heart'. Is that outrageous? Are there any other Bonnie songs I should hear...?

I do really want to hear more of Tori too, presumably there's no cameo from her on the new Pride of Lions CD?

Not sure about the new PoL, probably couple more songs with her singing background, but yeah, never heard other songs by Bonnie lol but I bet she got couple more hits out there

Really nice voice but for female vox I still worship at the altar of Fiona Flanagan

i agree,, although fiona is kinda in the fun-to-listen-to-but-don't-let-your-friends-know-you-have-the-cd category.

and all the songs about relationships dont pack any of the emotional triggers they did when you were a teenager.

I like Fiona CDs - especially 'Squeeze,' but I always thought she had a pretty weak voice to be honest. Especially on the awesome 'Squeeze' disc. Still, the albums are great so that's all that really matters. Except the last one - that just sucks, vocals and all.

Agreed. Her voice was sexy but not great at all.

BTW, this is my favourite track from my favourite female-fronted rock album:

Not the best ever female singer, certainly not a patch on Tori H (although not bad) but a great album imo.

Here is miss Sommerville in her band Trillium! now this bitch can sing!!

Not massively keen on that one. The vocals are more towards the operatic style, but I much prefer Tarja Turunen to any vocalists of that style.

This is the best female fronted metal song ever for me. What a voice!

Nope, I still think Im right.

Lzzy Hale..........no competition at the moment. I'll report back on the live performance after 28th Sept ;-))

She does have a great voice. Love her on the ballads. 'I bet you wish you had me back' makes me wish I had her back for sure.

Talking about gothic/symphonic/etc stuff, my personal favourite singer is Kaisa Jouki from the Finnish band Battlelore.

Not quite as good as Tarja for me, but she has a good voice and I love the song! (My only criticism is that they do something I hate in metal, i.e. just slow down the song, make it quite for a bit, then start up again instead of having a guitar solo. As I said, I hear that a lot, especially in gothic metal and it sucks! Still a great tune overall though.)

As we've moved on to the more gothic and symphonic stuff, I have to mention Vibeke Stene, who as well as having a great voice is very attractive:

Love this track, incredible symphonic metal song with perfect vocals (and no growling):

  • My Little Pony

Jennifer Cella!

So much power behind her voice. She has a few tracks with TSO, but it would be great if she released her own rock album.

Points taken. It looks like I'm not going to see her or a half dozen others at Firefest :(((( next month so I'll be Jersey (or New York) bound for a FIona gig in the future.

Personally I prefer Tanja Lainio of Lullacry....

Really like that first track. For my tastes, the vocals aren't as good as Tarja, Vibeke Stene or Tori Hitchcock, but still very good and a nice tune.

Pity she's now left the band to go back to teaching ... :(
