Groovin' bass line and killer backing vox from Mike Anthony, killer solo from Joe, thundering drums from Chad, and Sammy's trademark vocals.... shit, I'm lovin' this! :banger:

I've got both hands on the wheel, and my big foot on the gas...

Sorry doods, am I allowed to say I still hate it, or should I keep out of the thread all together?

As previously noted, I was not a fan of the debut at all but for the sake of the 1 or 2 good songs on it I thought I'd try this one. Sorry guys, just sounds like a blatant filler to me. Granted, a well played filler... but a song that most quality bands would leave in the rehearsal room, imo. :(

Geoff because we all love ya bro we respect your opinion but I dont think too many would agree with ya. Great Riffs, great vocals, cool bass lines and kickin percussion. Great Rhythm & beat, cool backing harmonies. :bananamac: It all equals another Hit album. IMO anyway

Haha, funny thing is I pretty much agree with all that. But the one thing they are lacking, that's not mentioned there, is the songs. ;) Everything in the world can be working for you, but if you can't write a decent song your band's still going to suck. ;)

Anyway, to each their own. I know a lot of people like this band, so enjoy it doods. I just might skip the big nude launch party. :)

Well, you should at least come out for the big nude launch party. A good time will be had by all, regardless of one's opinion of the music.

Honestly i was thinking that when I typed my post. What if the songs are crappy. The music might rock and the words actually suck. Its happened before. But Im going to remain optimistic for now.

First album just sounded so generic and nothing really hooked me, which was a huge surprise considering the quality of talent involved.

Going on this song, I'd have to say it sounds like more of the same.

Nothing overly wrong with it musically but its nothing thats exciting or gonna demand repeated plays.

    • Eclipse played that same game when Apocalypse Blues came out.  They dropped that song as just a single and made no mention of an album at that point as far as I remember.  All they were doing was selling the 7 inch vinyl.  We know now though that they clearly knew a full album was coming as Erik said they basically were working on both albums at the same time and deciding which tracks would go on each album.  Granted, maybe they didn't know the full timing of album #2 at that point but they certainly knew one was coming. Maybe the same here.  Maybe will trickle out a few songs and then announce an album later this year or early next year when it's closer to release.
    • So, Danny posted how the song is doing on Spotify and someone asked if this means a new album soon. Danny just made vague replies and said "well there will be more stuff coming soon"
    • Funnily enough, I read that this afternoon when I went to add the album to my collection on the main page. I got the European version which has two bonus tracks ... if you don't have them, you really aint missing anything

    • Created and Posted this video recently in order to promote Ryder SRIII a little more.  I love this song, one of my personal favs from the record.   Be careful viewing at work though (NSFW), just for a couple of images in the video.
    • Named my HH self after the song Auslander on the album Stain. Love that track. Really like the whole album. It's like Living Colour's "Slave to the Grind" or "Dog Eat Dog".

Brothers Johnny and Donnie Van Zant (respectively current lead vocalist of Southern Rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd and founding member of .38 Special) were able to find room in their busy schedules for the first time in 1998, recording their collaboration album “Brother to Brother”: a tribute to their late brother and Lynyrd Skynyrd original singer and founding member Ronnie. Such release was highly acclaimed between the press and fans worldwide and brought the duo to record a follow up album, simply entitled “II” in 2001. Their collaboration during the years did not stop as they tapped their feet in a more Country-oriented style with the release of “Get Right With the Man” (certified Gold in the USA in 2005) and later on with “My Kind of Country” in 2007. Now the brothers once again reinvent themselves, offering a Christian-themed album encompassing their Rock and Blues musical roots (and with a touch of Country for good measure). The result “Always Look Up” is made up of songs that will touch the listener’s heart and soul, with an emotional depth that is truly second to none in today’s musical landscape. Experience the soul touching that only the music from the Van Zant family, can provide. You will see why they are icons of the American South, and musical heroes to millions around the globe!
