heaven&hell
I always seem to forget about this cd until I come across it on the shelf and throw it in the player and then it kicks my ass every damn time. This cd seems to get left out when we look back at great hard rock discs over the last 20 years or even releases from 1989 but it's a kick ass disc IMO. Plus you can usually find it dirt cheap so if you don't have it I suggest you buy it and it'll be a great but inexpensive investment. Geoff
I think I sometimes leave this off such lists, but definitely one of my all-time top 20 albums. Flawless stuff. Faves are 'Don't tell no lies' and 'Into the darkness'. Just a killer disc.
melodicrockoz
POWER STRIKES THE EARTH, what a song, quite possibly the best ever Victory track & CKTN is imho Victory's best album.

Captain Howdy
Victory is a band I only got into recently (late last year), and is one of those frustrating bands. Nothing to do with them or their music, but because their debut album was self titled. Trying to search Amazon or eBay for something as generic as the word "Victory", brings up pretty much everything with that word in it, and finding the debut CD is a bugger and a half. Leykis101
No fuckin shit huh? by far IMO the most complet Victory disc from start to finish, at least for me, I don't think I skip a song on the entire disc when I listen to it! Don't Tell No Lies, and Power Strikes The Earth are my favs!

Faust
I prefer 'Temple Of Gold' but this one is great as well Indeed Never Satisfied and 'Don't tell no lies' are killer tunes
Evil Rick
Culture Killed The Native was my first introduction to Victory and I was so surprised at how good that album and the band in general is.
TIM (2)
Good solid stuff this. Not really any filler but only really a couple of songs that blow me away. I like the ballad "Lost in the Night" best.
heaven&hell
Nice to see there's some others that love this disc too. It's still my fav from Victory, with Temples being 2nd, and I still play it a few times a year and looking back I do feel it's one of the better hard rock releases of the last 20 years. rogerrocket
I always dug 'Hungry Hearts' the most but CKTN is definitely an underrated album. Saw them live in 1985 and they were awesome.
Clutch
Love the album and the band. No doubt that a remastered version would be welcome because it doesn't the greatest sound but it is a great album. Favorite track for me is "On the Loose". Geoff
The problem with this thread so far is that no one else is acknowledging 'Don't tell no lies' as one of the best songs ever recorded.

2023 Gold Donors Mr.AOR Posted May 14, 2017 2023 Gold Donors Report Share Posted May 14, 2017 First off let me say Fernando Garcia's vocals are Awesome (Wicked Sensation anybody) but for me this comes a close second to Temples Of Gold which for me is their finest hour.
