Well boys and girls here is a (albeit poor) snapshot of Mr. James "staryder1" Gebbia and myself in an unknown location, somewhere USA admiring my cd collection and showing off a few rarities. Even though the picture flashed out a bit, the cd's from left to right are: Mr. Grinch, Villan, Pharoah and Shotgun Alli. (The Pharoah and Mister Grinch were purchased during James 3 day stay)

All in all the haul was staggering and I know James and I will be listing the discs we purchased, in this thread soon. A majority of the cd's are mind bogglingly amazing! In the three days we left nary a store/pawn shop unscrounged in the majority of the state. (I put over 600 miles on my car in the 3 days!)

The majority of the stuff I bought I on't know who they are but with Terrys strong knowledge of the SEATTLE MUSIC SCENE it surly help. I bought every genre from alternative, grunge, hair metal, hard rock, heavy meta,l punk, new wave, hardcore, progressive rock, you name it I think every major genre .

The 2 most special discs that I found were the NEAR INFINITY PECEPTIONS DISC and the one disc that somebody hear on the board (which he will remain nameless) was going to charge me $500.00 for is

PHARAOH ON YOUR KNEES both I found for $1.00 a piece both inserts and cds are in mint condition and one other disc I'll mention as I was watching on ebay before I left it ended at $91.00 I got it for $8.00 in mint condition is ANGEL WITCH FRONTAL ASSUALT.

Once again I would like to thank TERRY MARTINSANE for the great time I had this year it blew away last years visit and when I come up next yearv for my 3rd annual visit I hope it will blow aways this years visit, but its going to be tough!! YOU ROCK TERRY THANKS AGAIN MY FRIEND !!

:fun_84::bigboom::omg::P:o:butt:

:)

Which for the record I found and being the gentlemen and the saint that I am (insert puking smiley here) said, "Hey James, you don't want this Pharoah cd do ya?"

James is tons of fun and a wealth of musical information, but when scrounging he is all over the place and skips over some amazing stuff in his haste. :)

And as stated everywhere, ANYTIME ANYONE IS NEAR SEATTLE, HELL I DROVE 2 HOURS SOUTH TO CENTRALIA TO GRAB ANAMAL AND TOTE HIM AROUND TACOMA, DROP ME LINE AND LUNCH ON YOU AND MORE CD STORES THAN YOU CAN SHAKE A STICK AT ON ME! :)

Thanks for the collection compliment, wait until I get done typing up the stuff I found on our 3 day tour, remember, my collection is only 1/2 as cool as James'. Quantity wise anyway. :)

i'm happy for mr.james and mr.terry, especially coz they follow their passion without succumbing to the usual leechers, liars, betrayers, rumourmongers.....etc etc etc.....however, i must state that i'm not jealous of your findings...... practically, i'm only looking for 2 cds...they were 4 but after receiving mp3s of 2 of them i was hugely disappointed by the music on them and i deleted them from my list....

Ok I need the Invader be a gentleman send it to me!

The original Lazarus sin I guess right?? :headbanger:

List edited at Nebs request.

Original Lazarus sin form glorious Portland, Oregon. :)

George, what are the last 2?

Thanks for all the positive feedback on our litlle excapade, it was kick arse and Lindsey, every cd gets spun at least once before it gets shelved...

That SGA is fair to midland (to bad the guitarist had such an ego and crushed the band) and yes Pete Jim did a nice job with his band approved re-issue. :)

    • I think that is why the last 2 Nordic Union albums have flopped. The first album was probably 50/50.
    • Standard Frontiers approach. Take a bunch of demos written by one of their go-to songwriters, polish them up, get a popular name to sing on them and call it an album. Or, even more dishonestly, a "band."
    • OK, but ultimately boring. No wow factor and they played a bunch of songs I didn't know despite being billed as playing the debut. hey ho.
    • Folk, Prog, AORish.... however you wanna categorize them, these are some of the best vocal harmonies I've heard in forever. Lots of comparisons to Crosby, Stills & Nash in the YT comments Figure this should appeal to some here....           “Troika“, combining the immense talents of Nick D’Virgilio (Big Big Train), Neal Morse (Transatlantic) and Ross Jennings (Haken), initially began with Morse writing some acoustic songs he thought would be enhanced by strong vocal harmonies. After reuniting with former Spock’s Beard bandmate Nick D’Virgilio, the duo specifically sought out Jennings to complete the trio (all of whom contributed material to the project). Recorded during lockdown, D’VIRGILIO, MORSE & JENNINGS delivers melodic acoustic-filled anthems, charged rockers and sensitive ballads – all part of the mix – and the unique blend of the three voices and styles have created an album in which you will encounter these musicians in a way you’ve never heard before. Are you a fan of acoustic rock from the ‘70s with a touch of classic rock thrown in? If so, you’re going to absolutely love ”Troika”. This mostly-acoustic rock offering spends the first half bathing you in Crosby, Stills, and Nash-like acoustic pop rock full of fabulous multi-part lead vocal harmonies while the second half throws in some Hendrix meets Styx meets Foreigner classic rock to up the attitude. It’s such a fine record that the masses need to hear, and while the super-group last name approach will work fine for prog rock diehards, it just doesn’t roll off the tongue for the people who will really enjoy this record the most – regular lovers of vocal harmony-rich classic rock. Heck, even calling the band Troika would have been simpler. This is one of those delightful albums that has soothing melodic wonders and ripping, ‘70s-vibe classic rock tunes, and there truly isn’t a weak link in the 12-song collection. If you’re one of those people complaining that they just aren’t making great rock albums like they used to, you’ll want to grab a copy of this CD as soon as it’s released. Highly Recommended   01 – Everything I Am 02 – Julia 03 – You Set My Soul on Fire 04 – One Time Less 05 – Another Trip Around the Sun 06 – A Change Is Gonna Come 07 – If I Could 08 – King for a Day 09 – Second Hand Sons 10 – My Guardian 11 – What You Leave Behind 12 – Julia (Alternative Version) [Bonus Track] Nick D’Virgilio (Big Big Train) – vocals, drums Neal Morse (Transatlantic) vocals, keys, bass, guitars Ross Jennings (Haken) vocals, guitar
    • "Down to the Devil" is quite catchy. Shame this is only available on VINYL and as a digital download as far as I can tell...
    • Sad isn't it. Listened to Sultans last night. That was so good.  This still sounds like 1 endless song with different words. A travesty and a waste.
    • The Needle Lies-Queensryche
    • Yeah such a mark up from them on certain things recently...the Devils Train & Madhouse cds where up in the region too...unreal   it cost £15odd direct from record company...with VAT & postage.
