Sorry Jim and others, but she is no es bueno! Vocally weak, song *gulp* writing really weak and as far as looks go...many, many, many superior and with more talent.

Again my apologies for the feathers that I will ruffle, but hey opinions are like Camaros right.

Apparently one of her songs is doing well in Australia and my wife likes it. When she asked me to download the song I thought it was that old guy in the Daughtry series of Idol with the grey hair. I forget his name. Either way, when she told me it was a girl I remembered all y'all guys mentioning her. I have not heard the song in question.

Yes, alot like Shania Twain, Taylor is very very hot looking, I mean she has very beautiful eyes, and very nice lips, and perky boobies, I mean her musics okay, nothing ground breaking, but she is very very hot!

Taylor Swift sets records with "Love Story"

Feb. 20, 2009, 2:11 PM EST

Entertainment Tonight

Taylor Swift is having a "Love Story" with Top 40 radio, as she's achieved several incredible milestones.

The 19-year-old country music phenom has topped the pop charts with her first No. 1 hit, the first time a country crossover has crowned the Top 40 in the 16-year history of Billboard's Nielsen BDS chart. "Love Story" is the lead single from Taylor's already-triple platinum sophomore release Fearless.

"Love Story" also has the distinction of being the country song with the most paid downloads in history, having spent two weeks at No. 1 on the country singles charts in November. "White Horse," the second single released from Fearless, is currently climbing the country radio charts in the Top 10 and is the first video ever to debut at No. 1 on CMT's Top 20 Countdown.

Taylor, who is featured on the cover of the March 5 issue of Rolling Stone for the second time in a year -- and just received two Academy of Country Music Award nominations -- is currently in the United Kingdom making promotional appearances in support of the upcoming European release of Fearless. She plans to hit 52 cities in the US and Canada with her headliner tour starting March 1 in Florida.

  • 4 weeks later...

Boring, weak vocals, over-hyped crap. I love some Pop-Country, but this is just bad...like Pop-Country Disney.

Next time you listen to "Love Song", sing Nickelback's "Gotta Be Somebody" over the top of the chorus...it's a PERFECT fit...same melody, same chord progression, everything.

Completely agree, seriously poor vocals. She also looks a lot like Delta Goodrem, who was hotter IMO....

P.s. None of this would stop me from boning her.

TWO things would stop me from boning her - my wife, AND a rolling pin to the base of the skull.

Wooooooaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!! Take it easy there sport! obviously you aint from around these boards are you??? Im sure you'll just get a warning, but in case you get something more severe, I'll have your back bro, but you just crossed a MEGA-FUCKING LINE!!!!

Heavy Harmonies Rules Of The Metal Boards, Rule #1:19.C-A17:26 Provision T-28: Clearly states,

:No Member or Guest shall ridicule, chastise, castigate, denounce, simplify, insult, or speak with derision, at any time, anywhere in the parameters of this forum, towards the iconic, revolutionary, rock and metal pioneering band, known as Nickleback!!

Doing so will result in swift vengeance and furious anger, and extreme punishment to the likes of pain you have never known, plus you will get a warning.

And pretty much everybody on the boards except me will gang fuck you, belittle you, try to coax you into suicide, and make you feel like you don't belong here, and you need to get over to the Wham board!

So my brother just a little tip from the wise, stay the fuck away from anything regarding Nickleback unless it is A. They are god's! B. their new album kills anything released in the last decade. or C. you can't wait for the tab to come out so you can start covering their songs.

keep it to those topics, and everything should go cool for you my brother! Trust Me!!! I Know.

Actually....he can pick on Nickelback all he wants!

But when he picks on Taylor....well, then the gloves come off!!! LOL

Shawn, you can say anything you'd like about what she 'lacks'....but she does write her own songs. And what do you expect from someone who wrote those songs when she wasn't even a legal adult??!! Of course they're going to sound 'young'. To me, it's when those 'young' artists start acting all 'grown up'...and start dressing like sluts...is when someone needs to 'say something'........but, truthfully, it doesn't bother me that people think she's 'this or that'..because, at the end of the day it's all subjective anyway.....

So I can't state that I think Chad Kroeger is a goof because he got caught doing something like 80 kmh over the posted speed limit in his car about 20 blocks from my house, and then didn't even have to appear in court for the slap on the wrist he received as punishment while yer average Joe would've been pepper-sprayed, night-sticked, handcuffed, anally-probed for drugs, kept in a holding cell until bailed out, dragged in to court to make an appearance, and then sentenced to a stiff fine, lost their license, and otherwise be treated with the utmost of respect? That sounds fair enough. Go, Chad, Go! Floor it!

Glad to say I've still not had the "pleasure" of hearing this girl, but seen a few posters and stuff and she sure as hell is a good sort.

Shawn, you can say anything you'd like about what she 'lacks'....but she does write her own songs.

You can't possibly think she sat and wrote that song all by herself. Anytime her or Britney Spears or Avril Lavigne get a writing credit, it's because an actual songwriter took part of a lyric or maybe a tiny vocal melody and wrote an actual song from it. It's better to say she "sometimes helps" write her own songs...don't believe everything you read in liner notes.

You want actual "kid" songwriters/musicians, look at Hanson ten years ago...Taylor Hanson has more talent in his hair folicles that Taylor Swift could ever hope to attain.

And what do you expect from someone who wrote those songs when she wasn't even a legal adult??!! Of course they're going to sound 'young'.

I never said it sounded "young"...I said she was boring and weak. ;) I don't care how old she is.

I completely agree with this entire statement.

And, as for Nickelback, I like them well enough...not a major fan or anything...but I do have to say that "Gotta Be Somebody" is ridiculously infectious...LOVE that chorus.

Actually, she did Shawn....on her first record three tracks were complete writes by her...and 7 or 8 were co-writes with Liz Rose, whom she works with a lot. Sony/ATV signed her to a PUBLISHING deal at age 14.......this isn't a Britney Spears situation....

Her second album had numerous songs written solely by herself, and with co-writes from Big and Rich. Saying that she 'sometimes helps write' her own songs is doing a disservice to someone who has worked their ass off to get where they are....even if they are a teenager. An artist like yourself, I'm sure would respect that....

I'm not going to argue subjective things...such as Taylor Hanson having more talent, because history probably shows otherwise. I know you'll say that 'just because' an artist is commercially successful doesn't necessarily illustrate who has more talent....I know this, but on a playing field that is not subjective, he loses that battle......especially to me.

Almost all artists have co-writes.....but if you read about this girl, you would see that she is the exception to so many rules. I mean..c'mon..Britney Spears.....

    • Sorry, that wasn't really what I meant. What I was really going for is that the songs on other albums seem to me to have more of a similar feel to them, like you can tell the songs for Freedom Rock were pretty much all written at the same time. I'm not saying that the songs on Force Majeure don't sound like H.E.A.T (even though I maintain it's not as good, based on the first few spins, as their previous efforts), but that they sound, to me, more "scatterbrained" than the selections from other records. That's not an easy thing to explain, but "direction" was the best word I could think of.    Again, I probably could explained my point better. I wasn't advocating for more guitars so much, but for more variety in the guitars we get. One of the best things for me about the first two H.E.A.T albums (less so for Address the Nation, but still there) was the subtle trade-offs between Dalone and Rivers and the solos that switched between them (good examples of this include the guitar work on "Late Night Lady," "Danger Road" and "Tonight," off the top of my head). Simply because Dalone and Rivers played different set ups and had some variance in tone, you could tell the difference between their playing (though admittedly there were times where Eric Rivers was completely underutilized and overshadowed). Because of the the combination of this record's production and the guitars being all Dave, you don't have as much of that, and that's what I was trying to convey.
    • Agree it reminds of earlier material, but I'm much less of a "Hang Tough" guy and much more of a "What A Shame" kind of guy.
    • Skid Row Nelson Steel Panther Harem Scarem WASP Van Hagar Saliva Joey Tempest Michael Sweet White Lion Mr. Big ... are the easy ones for me. Possibly Warrant as well come to think of it. Some other popular ones listed taht I don't agree with would be Slaughter - 2nd album pipped it GNR - always preferred either UYI albums Tuff - really only had 1 1/2 albums so don't count
    • and the lyrics tick tock time to rock don't make you cringe?? if it was 1986 and I was 16 it might have been just passable but now, no.
    • Another release that seems to have been completely overlooked here on HH... check out those vids for "Give It Up" and "Love Will Not Let You Down". I swear both tunes sound like something you'd hear from AdrianGale!  Compassion | Akiba Music (bandcamp.com)
    • I might stone thrown at me, but hear some Scorpions.
    • "One Voice", which is a demo, is the only one I hear the tape "hiss" on...
    • Is that cassette tape hiss I hear at the start of the song? Is the whole album like that or only the demo tracks?
