  1. Onerepublic - 'Dreaming out loud' Oney - 'Good guys wear black' ; plain and simply, a big why I reckon these guys didn't make it is because they write 3 minute songs and drag them out for 5 minutes plus. Still, not a bad disc. Steel Panther - 'Feel the steel' ; in an effort to not burn out on this I've held off playing this since Monday for hopefully a weekly treat each week. Each day in waiting has been torture. The most enjoyable CD I've had in a few years now.
  2. Welcome to the boards. Excuse the abundance of naked people... clothes are considered uncool here.
  3. Are they just talking about fingers, or is one of the two in the pink a penis? Still not fully sure I understand The Shocker.
  4. I came pretty close to crying yesterday when I did my "finances". Honestly never known anyone personally in as much debt as I am. And we're going on a holiday in 3 months. HAHA! But
  5. 'Girl from Oklahoma' - Steel Panther 'Michael Starr, you motherfucker...'
  6. Wow, the weak Finger Eleven never even crossed my mind when I heard the song. "Champagne" has a big anthemic chorus for a modern band. I was hearing the best parts of such bands as Faber Drive, Hedley, or the new Kids In The Way but with a little more bite. Really? Maybe another listen is in order. I will try to try again next time I am free at home.
  7. He was once a black man... a long time ago. In recent years, though, he had grown more satanic and taken on a red tinge. Over the years, he increasingly became redder. As of yesterday afternoon, the man turned crimson, nearing a stage which would leave him purple and blue and exploded and fucked and dead.
  8. Seriously, fuck money and every fucking thing associated with it... which is pretty much the entire world - so fuck it all.
  9. I forget what it's called, but that Nural song with the line 'You've got some nerve...' is in my head.
  10. Nural - 'Weight of the world' Nevertheless - 'Live like we're alive'
  11. Agreed....it's all about the quality of the music.... Backed.. Yeah, backed. As long as the songs are good I'm still interested. I do think that bands with only one original remaining member shouldn't carry the original band name... but even with that rule there are exceptions.
  12. Messed up story. Her side of the story sounds amazingly doubtful.
  13. I had to increase my credit card limit today... couldn't really be more f*cked if I tried.
  14. Wow mate, I have to admit I was not expecting these tracks to be this good. Exactly as you say above, those first 3 songs are absolutely excellent, as good as anything off the album. Especially love 'Jackson High' and 'More than I want'. Thanks again mate, these are awesome. Some definite Ipod additions here...
  15. Sorry mate, not really for me at all. They actually remind me of the horrible Finger Eleven.
  16. Yeah, not bad at all. I kinda dig it. Reminds me of Stereo Fallout based on the CD Baby samples.
  17. Did they actually record a full album's worth of material?
  18. The show sounds awesome... as I said, really hope they make their way over here at some point. If those sales keep up maybe we're a chance?
  19. Awesome. So I assume it was a wonderful show? Man, I hope this CD sells some units and they somehow get over to Australian shores. Glad Michael Starr liked your get-up too - nice work mate.
  20. I think this is good... but like you say, Tim, quite a few fillers on this one. I need a few more listens but there seemed to be a lot of "reach for your dreams and never surrender" stuff going on here which made it quite tacky and unpleasant on a lyrical level, but the songs sounded pretty cool. I prefer Pretty Boy or Defcon personally, but I'll see how this one goes.
  21. No. It's hard work... you need a drink after that.
  22. I'l say...he's been promising to cut my lawn for weeks!!! lol.
  23. 'Turn out the light' / 'Eyes of a panther' - Steel Panther
