  1. That song is excellent. Early hopeful prediction that we could be in for an album near the same brilliance of 'Crossfire.' Very exciting. As for the video, it's a bit awkward. Is she really that much taller than all those dudes? Weird having the sexy dancer in a female fronted band's video. But it's appreciated. Issa herself looks a bit awkward - somebody get the lady a mic. But yeah, this is very good. Even better than I expected, I must admit.
  2. Yeah, this album's pretty great. All class. Big hooks, very good tunes. 'Drift,' 'Florescent,' and 'Yume' are my favourites but it's pretty much all keepers.
  3. Bloody hell, I knew nothing about this one but it's very good. Super consistent album - all of the first 8 tracks are keepers for me, which is pretty impressive... especially from a band I was expecting it from. Favourite song is this one; The album actually reminded me a lot of Khymera. Well worth checking out.
  4. Wow, I have to admit I never connected these three songs together. Love them all, but only ever associated 'Hungry Eyes' with the name. As noted, classic songs. Rest in peace.
  5. lol. Funnily enough, that video pretty much sums up this entire album. That drummer is so hair metal. Anyway, what I mean by that statement is that this is almost really good. It seriously is. There's some very good, well written melodic rock hooks and choruses on this album. It really surprised me, but there's a heap of potential here. Issues being that the dude obviously has a pretty strong accent, which is okay. I wouldn't say his voice is great, but good luck to him. Production and the mix leaves quite a bit to be desired too, which is a bummer. But there's definitely worse things that you could do than giving this a fair go. It surprised me, and there's actually quite a few songs on here that will feature on my 2024 playlist. This is my favourite song on the album. As you'll hear, it's kind of lacking in a few elements, but it is essentially pretty delicious AOR;
  6. What a mixed bag. This song is a good one, as is the opener, 'Dancing In A Lie.' But that's about where it ends. Couple of other decent songs, but also some really bad stuff, like 'Summer Night, 'Together' and 'Kiss Me.' Yeah, mixed bag. Not great overall.
  7. Jeez, this is the band that released their debut in 1985. Still a few members from that line-up too. I was going to be all like "jeez the imagery is kind of similar to that band" only to find out it is that band. Released another album called 'Rock is alive' in 2018. I like this song so I'm going to check out the last album, as well as the new one when it comes out. Anyone else see this thread and immediately assume it was the German band of the same name, that released the excellent 'Bad Child' album? I wonder if they're the reason these guys changed their name to Universe Infinity. Gets a bit confusing...
  8. Pretty decent - prefer the first track.
  9. Very nice. Video looks pretty simply put together, bit that's a cool song.
  10. Can't wait... I'm positive it'll be another great album. She's got a pretty impressive strike rate. With the Martin brothers as full fledged members of the band, hoping this somewhere on par with the brilliant 'Crossfire.' If I'm still up at midnight I'll check that out tonight before bed.
  11. Not bad, sounds a bit like Maverick (but not quite as good).
  12. Big 70's vibe; not my thing. But they look the part, at least. Kind of... maybe not that guy's mo.
  13. lol, holy shit. I just saw this out the corner of my eye on the side of the screen and had to click on it. I assume your transition was noted as it happened, but didn't you absolutely hate synthwave only about a year ago?
  14. Cool tunes. I thought I searched the forum for a thread on these guys back before Glamfest a month or so ago. A bit bummed I missed them as these songs are better than their solid debut.
  15. Yeah, no way they're his vocals. Plus, if it was him we'd have heard about this for sure. Anyway, 100%, this sounds awesome. I'm hearing Hotboy in some of the guitar tone, and vocalist is definitely ringing a few similarity bells too. Good production too for an indie EP. I definitely want to hear it all. Nice find.
  16. Didn’t realise that and this came very unexpected to me. Great career, a lot of excellent songs, both sung by himself and those he worked with. Was just listening to his 1996 release the other day. Rest in peace.
  17. Quoted for truth. Only March but I feel like I have the best two albums of 2024 sorted. Will see how it plays out... Brilliant album. I generally just skip instrumentals but the two on this (not the intro) are going to make it on my playlist. Love them, and all the songs are killer. A little sad we've already heard most the songs, lol, but it's a killer release.
  18. I've spent moments thinking what other bands they sound like and I can never come up with any similar enough to pinpoint one. The 1975 is an interesting call and not one I'd thought of, but I guess I can see how you'd get there. I also hear what you're hearing with the muddy mix, but I also find that it is not across the board. To me, a lot of the album sounds pristine, but there are definitely muddier moments. Namely the chorus in the first song. And a couple of the "heavier" moments. For me, I've put this down to the new producer in the picture. This time around they brought a dude from Blue October in to either produce, or co-produce the album. I'm not overly familiar with Blue October, but my immediate thought when I hear their name is that muffled, I guess "muddy" type of sound, which as far as I can tell is actually part of who they are. And maybe the dude's brought a bit of that to the fold here. Because if I understand correctly, the two previous releases were completely self-produced, and sounded flawless. So it'll be interesting going forward to see what they do with production. But yeah, like you say, nothing to take away from the quality of the album. And as above, I do find a lot of it to sound stellar - particularly the softer vocal moments, which is a lot of the album. Dude's voice is sweet chocolate in my ears.
  19. I'll be amazed if this isn't in my top 2 albums at the end of the year. Will spin it on Monday for sure.
