  1. My fav 2 currently are '3000 Beats' and 'Moving On'.......both arse kickers......esp Moving On....that riff and solo kills me. Listening to this song right now actually :-))))
  2. Run Riot and Gods of War are probably my 2 favourite songs off that album :-) 'Distant Memory' is surely one of everyone's favourite songs on Harem Scarem's debut too?? I can't think of a weak song on it.......my guess would be around 96, maybe 97%.....prob in my top 10 of all time.
  3. Ive not rated anything in 2015 but I would imagine my top 10 so far will consist of these ......in no order Art Nation Care of Night Destine Degreed Eclipse Toto Halestorm [i know many don't rate this, but I love it] Tremonti [best metal album of 2015] Rev Saints Mmmmm, 10th spot could be between - Trixter, 7th Heaven, Station.....not sure.
  4. Yeah, one of the greatest examples of the genre. I played that song so much, I thought I would grow tired of it, but I never did. yeah, despite being dreadfully cliched, it is perfect melodic rock.
  5. Run Riot and Gods of War are probably my 2 favourite songs off that album :-)
  6. Why do you start at 5 for the production and skill? That part of your rating system has taken on en even worse spin! So many flaws... Disagree with you with regard to artists being unable to balance albums and have equally awesome songs from start to end, even if they obvious sound different so as to make up a varied album. My highest rated albums so far are Cauterize, whom I know are no one else's cup of tea, but to me they do exactly what you say there perfectly. To me, every song is almost as good as the one before and after. Another one that springs to mind is Silly Fools. There's bands out there... and they, obviously, will be the ones at the top of the lists. For production and skill, I myself never heard anything that's worth scoring below 5, maybe there are some but maybe I don't bother to listen to them but yeah it's a subjective matters. I think usually when a band/artist decided to spend their money into record anything, they really at least have a little knowledge about production and how to play instruments and about 10/10 songs in one album, aren't you the one and Glen who always insist there's no such thing as 100% album ? yep, and that opinion hasnt changed.
  7. Understatement of the year! Sounds like someone surgically removed his voice box and replaced it with someone who can sing......REALLY well. I mean the improvement vocally is unprecedented. Beyond belief almost. As for the songs, well its excellent innit?? About as close to HEAT as ive heard, and that is big praise. These guys have nailed it imo.......OK there are one or 2 moments where they dip below excellent, but this is minor gripes. Easy top 5...........although Ive not rated anything in 2015 yet.
  8. it would be between OC and CDG for me - both v good albums but not quite reaching 90% i'd doubt.......OC was mid 80s, not rated CDG
  9. Virtually impossible - there are probably 50 albums which could change place on a daily basis - all rating around the 95% mark. I guess albums which hold a special place which ive lived with for years and never tire - in no order Bon Jovi - s/t AC/DC - Back in Black Iron Maiden - NOTB Journey - Escape / Evolution / Infinity Steve Perry - Street Talk Harem Scarem - s/t & Higher Marillion - Script
  10. Now you have gone mad. Id deduct at least 10% alone just for the crap tinny sound on Dalton. Let alone the songs.
  11. 2,3 & 4 make perfect sense to me - each one a classic album from 1989. BUT..................Dalton???? Seriously???? A massively underproduced wet fish of an album with about 3 stand out tracks and a couple of truly awful tracks into the bargain.
  12. imo those are 2 of the weakest tracks on those respective albums. I think the best examples are classic AOR albums Journey - Dont Stop Believin (Escape) Boston - More Than A Feelin (s/t) Asia - Heat of The Moment (s/t) Toto - Africa (IV) REO Speedwagon - Keep On Lovin You (Hi Infidelity) However, these 3 are no brainers as well - Metallica - Enter Sandman (black album) Nirvana - Smell Like Teen Spirit (Nevermind) GnR - Sweet Child (Appetite)
  13. I can't believe someone moaning about supoorting a Michael Bolton crowd funding campaign................??? I mean what exactly did you expect to receive? At best it would be a bunch of sultry love songs.........at worst some god awful covers (which is what u got) or some Christmas album ;-) 2 recent crowd funding campaigns have puzzled me recently - Michael Bolton and Jim Peterik. They must be worth millions right?? Why do they need to crowd fund????? I thought it was more for artists like Johnny Lima or Destine - both of which were excellent by the way and delivered big time.
  14. I don't see major differences here, except I'll be there-which is a major Foreigner-y track for me. I always imagine, when not the case, myself in a pool with a pink champagne etc etc etc. no, no real major differences but just a fairer score, given its a really good album but does have its weaker moments...... also suffers a tad from being just 9 songs - one killer to round if off would have been nice.
  15. Love & War is their best - this is how I rated it - 1. All Fair - 8.75 (would be higher except for the silly spoken part) 2. She Like's it - 9 3. Diana - 7.5 4. Down On You - 8 5. The World Stopped Turning - 8.5 6. Ghost of Winter - 7.5 7. My Number (cover) - 8 8. Show A Little Love - 8.5 9. Fool's Paradise - 8.75 10. Letters in The Rain - 7.75 Overall 82.25% [very good consistent album with no real filler....great cover too]
  16. Havent considered 1979 too much.........my lists start at 1980, but my favourite release would easily be - Journey - Evolution Classic album imo and prob easily hits 95%
  17. Here's the correct rating ;-) 1. One Step - 7.5 2. We are the Young - 8 3. Dorianna - 9.5 4. Is it Love - 10 5. Heart of America - 8 (terrible lyrics keep this score down) 6. Main Attraction - 9 7. Doin Time - 6 8. I'll Be There - 6.5 9. Break Down - 8 Overall 80.5% Still a very good album, and worth having just for tracks 3 & 4 which are both killer melodic rock gems.
  18. Here's my rating for C&L - main 12 songs only 1. Letting Go - intro 2. Slap in the Face - 8 3. Rip & Tear - 8.25 4. Sleazy Come - 6 5. Never Enough - 8.5 6. Malaria - 5.5 7. Ballad of Jayne - 7 8. Magdalaine - 7 (I have a ? against this song....so could go up or down) 9. Give a Little - 6.5 10. I'm addicted - 11. 17 Crash - 7.75 12. Showdown - 8.75 13. Wheels of Fire - 7 14. I Wanna Be Your Man - 8.75 Overall : 74% That's about as generous as I can be. Definitely about 4-5 very good rocking tracks, but as I said a whole bunch of average stuff too.
  19. Come on man...alphabetical order??! We wanna know the top 10 in order of preference! Go for it.
  20. Which is a great album by the wayCome on man, don't say that. I always trust your musical taste and common sense One of my wife's fav albums so i get subjected to it a lot. It's really not bad though.
  21. Which is a great album by the way
  22. Most Kiss albums are half great half average. Sonic boom is way better than Monster though.
