    WWE?

    Yeah when i was about 10 ;-)
  2. Listen to 'Tiger By The Tail' (scroll to 9:30 mark): https://www.mixcloud.com/PlatinumRockRadio/feel-the-steel-with-dawn-paul-nicholls-featuring-new-tracks-from-ozone/ Theres 2 more - a decent sounding ballad at 40 mins and a frantic rocker at about 1hr 45. All decent but not blowing me away.
  3. Congrats. At least its not twins which is what happened to us when we had our second (....and third!) Sleep...the final frontier. Enjoy it tho...these years fly by!!!

  5. Trixter would be close to 100% if i was rating the last 4 songs ;-)
  6. Many things overrated this year....this is not one of them.
  7. Lol. Is that the same "Eclipse" that got a 100% MelodicRock.com rating? haha it ain't that bad, I believe it's worth around 70-75% There are a few excellent songs on that album but i dont think the style suits Journey.
  8. A couple of others worth a try [although these might be too polished] - Robin Beck - Trouble of Nothin (1989) Fiona - Squeeze (1990?)
  9. Harlow - s/t (1990) [Teresa Straley's vocals are monster on that album - damned good too it is]
  10. Witness - their debut (and only) album pisses on Saraya. [also features schon/Gillis/Pierce on a few of tracks....some killer solos]
  11. Ted is the voice of D2, pure and simple. I also saw them live with both singers on stage and believe me - he is the voice.
  12. +1 (except for the Cauterize comment) This has been discussed to death here and of course is all opinion. Some folk tend to rate an album 10/10 or 100% if they really love every song which is fine. I (as does Geoff) tend to rate every song individually and not every song across the album can be an absolute killer - there will always be a lull somewhere and that's why (up until now), I've not encountered a 100% album.....pretty damned close, but not 100%. That said this is a killer album and well worthy of a score around or in excess of 90%. In fact lets just summarise : best album of 2015 so far Is that easier ;-)
  13. In the context of what he is saying is merely that this album is like Degreed's crowning glory in their discography so far...the heady height. Not necessarily that this album is better than SWW or Pyromania. As usual I never agree with a 100% rating for any album as nothing is perfect but this is a pretty damned consistent album, unbelievably over 14.............yes that's right 14 songs! No mean feat I can tell you. I havent rated it yet but I can easily see this hitting 90%. What I will 100% agree with Andrew on is this point - PRODUCTION. Why cannot every release in our genre sound as good as this album production wise. It is PERFECT imo. As Andrew says....everything in perfect balance just how it should be and a great drum sound. Most other artists (err Nelson) should hang their heads in shame listening to this production.
  14. it's an odd one that - Journey's first 3 albums didnt really sell well and Columbia records almost demanded they change their style or else they could have been dropped. In a way Perry was the beginning of that band. I do wonder how often fans of the band actually play those first 3 records? or even own them lol. The music is wildly different thats for sure.
  15. poppy sound? that's an odd comment. There are elements of Raised on Radio which could be described as approaching a poppy sound but EVERYTHING prior to that is not even close to the description. In fact everything up to Departure had a raw hard rock edge. There's nothing as such wrong with Pineda, but they are almost like a tribute band now - most of the new material is not good enough to make the live shows - Revelations is a very good album but none of those songs will break the mould of their greatest hits live. Also I like Pineda but there's something about him which just sits wrong with me - his voice is good, but not good enough to make the hits really shine like they should. That said I think they might have one truly great album in them still, and I hope that Schon is inspired by the new Rev Saints album and gets back to writing short hooky melodic rock songs rather than the more experimental, progressive style of Eclipse.
  16. yeah but this disc aint that great either imo.
  17. no he hasnt - Escape have ignored his request. Andrew already has the audio, Great apparently......but then we knew it would be ;-)
  18. Welcome. For classic rock try Heavens Basement. Excellent debut album. Or Maybe Station from 2015. Again v good.
  19. PS The Mac years are THE years of Threshold They are dead to me now too.
  20. Heat!!! Much better with Erik. Strongly disagree about Marillion. Fish was Marillion. They have never been able to replicate the unique style of those early albums. Script / Fugazi / MC are classics. Strongly agree about Sabbath. The 2 Dio albums are light years ahead of the Ozzy stuff.
  21. Skid row is dead to me. Some more - Gotthard Journey (ever since Perry left) Marillion (although a lot will disagree) Warrant
  22. I knew about Mitch Malloy - he's continually posting about this on Facebook.
