To be honest the whole modern genre has taken a turn for the worse. 5 years ago i bought a fair bit of modern rock but this year the only release worth anything is Destine, but even they have called it a day now. Not worth these bands continuing - they get their crowdfunding from the die hard fans then as soon as the album is finished its leaked on the net and every twat proceeds to download it for free. Soon there will be no up and coming new bands.

You should ask these people if they would shoplift or just steal in general...cos that is what they are doing.

Yep, second track is crap. Crap is slightly harsh lol. But yeah neither song is anywhere near the quality of their last 2 albums.

Ha ha dont assume that! Youll be attending every kiddie movie released for the next 10 yrs lol. My most recent was Inside Out - excellent film!

I struggled with Paul Laine. Tracks 2-6 are excellent. Tracks 7 & 8 are average Then we have the lead track - starts out great but is almost ruined by a bizarre mid song instru break...WTF?! Final verdict 80.5 %

Sounds like u know a bunch of crooks. I know plenty of people who download from amazon or itunes - i also know plenty of people who still buy cds. Live with it.

Without even rating it yet, i know that BITRR will be in my top 10 of 1990. Amazing sleaze album. Wowser! Really? It has a small handful of really great songs (well, two at least - 'BITRR' and 'Straightjacket'), but is the rest really that great?! Oh, I totz just realised I'll be able to tell you myself early next week. Should get to this one very soon. Some good ones coming up in the latter part of the letter L. well one problem for me with LOVE/HATE is their music is really on the verge of mixing it with alternative/grunge even though the dose of classic sleaze still a lot. Problem also lies on some weaker songs like 'Fuel To Run', 'Mary Jane', or 'Slutsy Tipsy' that drag the score down. They're not horrible by any means but perhaps 7/10 or slightly lower. I think my fave tracks here are the title track, 'Rock Queen', 'Tumbleweed', and that third single, 'Why Do You Think They Call It Dope?' I suspect your rating should not be far off from mine Geoff and i wonder what ticks Glen so much with this one, perhaps his soundtrack of couple backseat sex during the heyday ? Angel is my fav.

'C&L' riddled with filler?? I think your CDs are labelled wrong, mate. That sounds like the debut. My version of 'C&L' actually doesn't have any filers at all. Let me know if you want to borrow it some time. And sorry, Russ, but 'Shrinking Violet' was lucky to get 29%. It is an absolute piece of shit. I really want to hear the 'Wasted' EP. I don't think I've ever even heard it... Ill post my rating of this when back off hols as i listened to it a few times when rating 1989. Really surprised me as i remembered loving the album but it really is carried by 3 or 4 great songs. Quite a few average tracks and its too long.

You serious, my man? I've seen 99% of the CD shops from my youth close down in the last 5-10 years; I cannot sell a CD on ebay anymore at all because no one wants them; and I'd bet my ass that when I go to concerts that less than 5% of those kids have the physical CDs, when I'd bet those same concerts 20 years ago, everyone had the CDs!! Sorry mate, totally disagree with that observation. Most shops have closed down cos they charge too much for cds. They cannot compete with the likes of Amazon. You might be right about kids downloading more but theres still a hell of a lot of people who buy cds and there is no way they will not around in say 10 years. I would hazard a guess that 90% of people over 30 would still buy a cd over downloading music

Horrible song. One of their worst. And not sure what you guys are hearing in this dude's voice either. It's okay... for a modern rock vocalist. See. The song is actually pretty great, with an amazing vocal...but it is more of a classic rock style which is why you dont like it. The reason why this band is huge is that the general populace love this style of music. Simple as that.

The lead single is pretty weak imo. However their last 2 albums have been excellent imo and great examples of classic rock sounding music with a modern approach. I think this is the reason the band doesnt well with Geoff cos they have that classic rock sound. My point is this : to most people The Crow and the Butterfly would be a great ballad with an amazing vocal, but i bet Geoff hates it? See if im right......

No way does C&L deserve those scores. Its riddled with filler. Half good half average. The debut is sleazy and raw and their best imo.

Yep still not much love for this. As i said the 2 lead songs were really good but the album as a whole is a letdown in my opinion. Am i motherfucking right?? ;-)
