  1. Yea. Send them back. A cdr is not a cd proper which is what you expected to get at the purchase price. On an aside. make sure you are reading the entire advertisement before purchasing anything from your cart. Amazon does print up cdrs "on demand" for certain titles with the artist's permission. I found this out the hard way when my SR 71 Here We Go Again arrived and it was a cdr. Poop! Here's their blurb about this service: About CD-R and DVD-R Media CD-Rs and DVD-Rs (the "R" stands for "recordable") look like the discs you're used to and offer the same audio and image quality. This recordable media is used to manufacture titles on demand, as fully authorized by the content provider. CD-Rs and DVD-Rs (the "R" stands for "recordable") look like the discs you're used to and offer the same audio and image quality. This recordable media is used to manufacture titles on demand, as fully authorized by the content provider. Through manufacturing on demand, CreateSpace, part of the Amazon.com group of companies, enables Amazon.com to offer music and video content that might not otherwise be available. Each disc comes fully packaged, with artwork, in a standard jewel case for audio and an Amaray case for video, although for reissued products the artwork may differ from the original. CreateSpace works with many of the leading music labels, television networks, film studios, and other distributors to make these titles available to Amazon.com customers. All products are manufactured from original source materials (e.g., for audio products, uncompressed CD-quality audio). By eliminating inventory, waste, and inefficiencies in the distribution system, on-demand manufacturing provides the added benefit of helping preserve the environment. When shopping, you'll see CD-R or DVD-R on the product detail page for such products. Amazon.com's standard return policy applies to these purchases.
  2. Deluxe? I just ordered the domestic on Amazon. Anyone know the differences?
  3. Analyzing each and every cd in your musical library to narrow it down to that one definitive song you would be required to listen to 24/7 for eternity would melt your mind. That sounds impossible, yea. And you could expect your current favorite to change over time as you are exposed to new artists, songs, genres etc but if someone called you out on the spot, what would you tell them right then and there without dodging the question entirely? After all, how many times in your life are you given a pass?
  4. Was at a party with some childhood friends and as the night progressed and the topic turned to music (as I knew it would as we just saw the Tom Keifer show), one of my buddies asked me to pick my all time favorite song. Bit of a dick move I thought since he knows how vast my cd collection is, lol. But he demanded one right there on the spot with no wiggle room. A couple minutes in I settled on Warrant's Stronger Now which surprised me as much as it did them. Name your all time favorite song off the top of your head without perusing your entire music vault. Virtually impossible, I know, but man up and crown a greatest of all time. No partial lists, no top 3, 5, 10 etc. and no genre specific favorites. Don't over, over, over think it. One song and one song period!! Good luck.
  5. Heard the title track on Sirius today. A little bland. Hoping the rest is more standout.
  6. Picked up a May 1990 issue of Metal Edge from a flea market. Brought back fond memories of my yester years. Lol. In it, Jani Lane discussed the upcoming release of their second album which was tentatively titled Vertical Smiles and listed a bunch of songs which either never made it onto the album or had their titles changed. Anyone have any of the following? One Step at a Time One Good Friend Nadine Electric Angel Get Me Off Jane's in Love Party Doll To Leah
  7. I like the cover. An obvious upgrade from the anti-product packaging of Burnin Bridges. God I hate digipacks or whatever the cuss word they are called. The album title is This House... what else would be more appropriate?
  8. That's a keeper. I really dig this tune. Wouldn't call it gospel but the Black Crowesy southern feel is definitely prevalent. I think Keith's vocals are a perfect fit for this song and it looks like everyone is enjoying themselves in the vid. Now let's get back to recording a full new album please.
  9. Cool song and vid. Kicking myself for missing the preorder of the album on Amazon at $7.00. No joke, I loves me some banjo especially incorporated in a killer rock song (see Uncle Tom's Cabin) but this is the first time I've seen anyone make a banjo look bad ass!
  10. I would imagine it was originally a tune Collen penned for his Delta Deep project. Haven't watched the vid or listened to the song yet (waiting for when I pick up a physical copy today) but I from first glance it looks like the lead singer of Delta Deep along side Keith.
  11. To be honest you aren't missing much - I saw him at Firefest and was pretty disappointed. A shadow of his former self....shy, not much crowd connection and reading the lyrics I'm always ready to issue an indulgence to a band I see for 1st time. Plus, during the summer, I had visions of me scratching his triceps. Lol. Off topic but I totally dig the Russ Ballard avatar you're flying right now. Great catalogue.
  12. I've seen the Pet Shop Boys a half dozen times now as they are my wife's fave group and they crack my top 10 live acts. Not my thing but they do what they do really f'ing well!!
  13. Bombastic intro really grabbed me by the throat and then the song kinda downshifted. Still a really good tune but I wish it was more up tempo like its beginning.
  14. I like it. Johnny sounds great. I like the tasteful keys Del Vecchio offers up. Ramos is a killer melodic player. Great production values.
  15. Obviously this is a "to each his own" situation. But the first time I saw Tesla live was on the Forever More tour (2008?) and I categorized Tesla as one of the few bands who could actually transfer their studio magic to a live setting and I thought Keith sounded fantastic.
  16. In a one wish granted scenario, if I had the opportunity to choose any sport/activity to excel at, I would instantly choose surfing, no matter the millions to be made playing other professional sports. It looks unbelievably cool to these eyes!
  17. Thanks for posting. Took me a long while to get into Warrant. Never much liked their debut initially, besides Big Talk. And all the goofy Warrant photos in Metal Edge annoyed me somewhat. Love everything they released with Lane now, of course. Even like the post Lane releases. But Lane ultimately is peerless within this genre and really deserved widespread critical acclaim beyond it as well. The consummate troubled genius. One of the few celebrities along with John Candy and Patrick Swayze, where I felt genuine sadness upon hearing of his death. I desperately await for someone to officially release Jabberwocky and/or anything else he has in the vault. RIP Jani.
  18. Lmao!! Maybe you can four string it in David Reece's Bonfire?
  19. I bought Moonshine on Itunes. Will be passing on the rest. Not unlistenable but I'd sooner commit my ten spot elsewhere. The John Waite cover is brutal, too.
  20. Thanks for posting Alpha. I had been reading along at Metal Sludge and kept waiting and waiting for Part 6. Super cool read. I'm sure it's a classic case of three sides to every story but Benny comes off as being a well written and entertaining individual. Stevie Rachelle should be pursuing more of these mini autobiographies from back in tha day Sunset Strippers.
  21. lol. Yea I like this song and this style of music plenty but I prefer That Makes One Easy Action with Tommy Nillson better. Still kicking my own ass for selling it off way back when.
  22. She looks better on the album cover. That photo is ridiculous; her face looks like an animated Disney princess. I also think the title of the album misses the mark even in a tongue in cheek sorta way.
  23. I like this. I was hoping it would sound something like 40 Ft Ringo and Steve Brown's other former side projects and that is the vibe I get. I'll be picking this one up.
  24. I'm not sure why there is so much negative backlash about this. From what I understand, Johnson is unable to continue as their vocalist for health reasons. For all intents and purposes, this spells the end of AC/DC period. Pretty shitty for all involved; Angus, Johnson and the fans. Rather than end their career on an aborted note he targeted a high profile replacement for their swan song ensuring the fans wouldn't feel ripped off by the inclusion of some karaoke hack nobody knows on vocals. Why not Axl? Johnson's voice is pretty well shot anyway so how much worse is Axl gonna do with those tunes? I'd happily attend any one of those remaining 12 shows featuring Axl.
