  1. Lol. Not much love here, huh? Not sure what everyone was expecting from the amalgamation of the King's X vocalist (haven't liked anything I've heard from them) and modern day Lynch. Surely not, vintage Dokken or Lynch Mob. This is about what I expected. I don't mind it.
  2. Not sure I'll grab this one. Perhaps. Sounds like an album that needs to be listened to without interruption start to finish to absorb the obvious DP/WS flavour. I still haven't heard anything from Tango Down. Time to investigate both versions.
  3. No disrespect to Rhoads but I agree 100% with Cure. That said, my opinion is that of a hard rock fan with zero experience on guitar. I'd love to hear from those in the know: who they feel would come in ahead of EVH on a list of the best six stringers?
  4. Bad ass! Great to see a kid with two hands clutching something other than an Xbox controller. Lol.
  5. Bang on! I'm not trying to be a dick here. It's not like he's some hideous troll. If that's 2017 Don so be it. But I honestly wouldn't have known him unless someone told me it was him.
  6. Gotta have it on cd. I need to see a "collection" and downloads don't do it for me. Playlists are great for parties or work details where you don't have time to change discs but I prefer getting the full album experience and that includes reading through the inserts and credits of each of the 3 to 5 discs I listen to a day. And as mentioned, the bulk of our collections are worth mere pennies locally, if you can get them to take them off your hands at all. Finding the right buyer is the key. I have a small box I plan on unloading somehow (likely ebay if not here) but they are all doubles or discs I'm not interested in. The rest of my goodies stay put.
  7. Seriously, that's Dokken? Looks more like Jack Black.
  8. Haven't listened to Breakout but I kinda like Noises.
  9. I believe Brown had all the songs written and demo'd before bringing in the other 3 members. I've liked every project Steve Brown has been involved in. Multi talented individual. I think Sleazeroxx had an interview with him recently where he hints at the possibility of joining D2 on a semi permanent basis. He is exactly what that band needs. An ear for catchy riffs and melody and a foot firmly planted in the genre and time period we all love to this day.
  10. Thanks for the post. Big fan of this band. Drove 15 hours to see them in Wisconsin Rapids on the Pain tour. Met the band after the gig. Super friendly and down to earth dudes.
  11. When is Steel Panther coming out? Is it this Friday or March 24?? I've seen both dates February 24 here in Canada according to Amazon.
  12. Hoping to have mine by Thursday. Ordered it through Amazon along with Jack Russell's new one and Steel Panther's.
  13. The delivery of Poontang Boomerang in the chorus is the only thing that reminds me of Cherry Pie. Fun stuff! Can't wait for this release. Geoff says it all in the post directly above mine. I can only dream of 80s hard rock this catchy with high production values being released today. No one conjures up the hair metal glory days like Steel Panther.
  14. Can't get the vids to work so I will have to reserve judgment but if the funk/soul vibe is akin to Circle of Soul (one of my all time favorite bands), count me in. Can't see it being so terrible that I would avoid purchasing it anyway as I am a huge Babylon A.D. fan. Cool list of songs, Cure. Nice to see Haywire get some love and I mentioned in another thread that when put on the spot for an answer I counted Stronger Now as my favorite song of all time. And while I really like Turn it On, I'm with Geoff here. Just too many D2 songs I love that much more.
  15. Haven't closely followed his career after Shotgun so I can't compare this tune to anything he has released in the past. I don't hate it. It's simply ok. But my major complaint is what a downer the whole video is. As stated, he looks horrible when compared to the vintage pics and the tribute to all the dead rockers just makes me depressed. This just screams, we are ALL getting older and the end is near.
  16. Y'all I'm looking for high resolution scans of Roxy Blue's Want Some? Banned version with Uncle Sam and Bangalore Choir's On Target Original with girl riding the missile. I'm having backstage laminates made up for a party and the print company says my images are not hi res enough to print on a pass. Strange because I could see issues if I was blowing up the covers to poster size but I'm reducing them to 3 X 5 cards. Anyways if anyone can help me out. mnmlange@hotmail.com or post here. Thanks.
  17. Pinnick looks bad ass. The drummer is an absolute beast. The song could grow on me with repeated listens but if it is the best they have to offer on the new album I'll pass.
  18. So jealous. One of my all time fave bands. Never had the privilege of seeing them back in their prime but did see them at MRF2 a few years back. Sadly, no Andy or Kasey but they still kicked plenty of ass. Fantastic live party band!!
  19. Ok Listened and like both. This is a band Geoff will likely dig if he hasn't been introduced to them already.
  20. I liked these guys back in tha day. Have their two eps, their full length Phantoms disc and an unreleased track from their myspace page before they disbanded. Thanks for posting. Will look into these tunes and watch for a new release.
  21. I hate rock with rap but love old school rap with rock, if that makes sense.

    Going bald

I'm with Karpet. Embrace it. Nothing you can do about it unless you want to look like Kevin Dubrow on QRIII or Joey Lawrence on whatever his new sitcom is; that is to say ridiculously in denial. I'd much sooner take my family on a 5 star vacation to Bora Bora for what it would cost to get a halfway legit head of hair. Now that might be easy for me to say as I'm wearing a lion's mane of naturally platinum blonde hair halfway down my back and it is the longest I've ever worn it. Ironically enough, I've also been sporting a ball cap or tuque (Yea, I'm Canadian!!) the last 3 years just to keep the hair under control and out of my eyes. For all anyone knows I might already be Kim Mitchell on top. But the front is thinning out and receding gradually so my day may come. At which point I'll ask myself; do I want hair or a new motorcycle? And that's a no brainer.
  23. Hmmm. Haven't picked up Invader yet. Was a little apprehensive about their super poppy direction. This one is solid but still quite tame. I prefer a little more punch and crunch.
  24. Not that I needed any convincing whatsoever to order this one; summery songs and a Diving for Pearls comparison in the same thread? I am all over this one. Can't wait!!!!!
